  1. Not bad at all! The last one mixed with Phantom footage for aerials.
  2. What about autofocus? Sorry, couldn't resist... ;-)
  3. posted from another discussion here:
  4. Anyways, my car can be unable to beat a Ferrari, but if it takes me to wherever the Ferrari or any other takes me, I can still drive it without much further complaints. No GH5 here yet, but seems pretty enough this AF performance or tap to focus workaround (without mention the focus pulling feature!): And please don't tell me touchscreen focus is not a valid solution because it is perhaps the best AF way to ever select... AF. In any camera for any setup. Our brain is surely brighter to handle the job than a machine. Period. Here's another example that I am not alone on this one:
  5. :-) Here's one more overview or review as you wish:
  6. Varicam shines... Full comparative test: https://agdok.de/de_DE/cameratest
  7. Download it @1080p, as for instance (- 3 in this case): https://vimeo.com/215581256 Play it on Pot Player -> Ctrl/B (for Blur) and see the difference (for example, shot on minute 1:17... we might even mix it with Ctrl/R for tuning sharpness as you wish and voilà, as usual, couple/combo is the secret of a good picture outcome ; ) BTW, as post expert as you are, you well know it ;-)
  8. Wondering on the same here...
  9. Anyways, if Ursa is a way more cine camera, GH5 is a more complete device in every aspect. Really workhorse. Let small size and IBIS alone, go figure. https://vimeo.com/213731550
  10. Ken, but can anyone take that guy for serious? ; ) 1) What sharpness settings to begin with? 2) Most part of his footage is HFR 1080p; 3) YT comments disabled; 4) Look the way he shows off the wife... As much as his clueless lighting and hablando del rey de Roma, things really require much more effort (I'd dare to add my comment as inferred above-posted).
  11. Don, that would be a deal breaker practically in any circumstance other than home videos, but actually... ...the devil is in the settings ;-)
  12. This last paragraph recalls this video here (and that meaningful statement pronounced on minute 1:27): What about to take that thing of settings seriously? I doubt he may find the same outcome going with sharpness dialed at the lowest end of the range, as for instance. Actually, taking appearances seriously instead (see minute 1:22 for example and those ugly shadows in the wall as merely from bad lighting) can be an illusive bitch to the eyes BTW... There should surely be sweet spots for AF usage, as well. The signs are out there: it is just the way to follow them. Straight out of the box? Hard to find their miracles.
  13. I'm sorry to hear that, Jon! No 4G cell phone carriers there? All the best, E :-) Here's the thread on topic: From the GH5 AF complex system, I wouldn't find that even a trouble. There are workarounds, as possible to check it out. Just find them out. :-)
  14. Nice stuff. Funny that Variety targets it for Facebook content creators... LOL http://variety.com/2017/digital/news/dish-slingstudio-hardware-for-facebook-live-1202392811/
  15. Their interest doesn't match, Don, that's the only reason for. It's a shame but it is what it is. Technology democratization didn't fulfill the full cup yet. Industry oblige.
  16. LOL You're quicker to quote me than my edit to my post... (BTW, sent you PM :-)
  17. Exactly same stand point here :-)
  18. Right. I just don't buy the fact every NAB they come to announce unrealistic shipping dates plus a pre-order ticket without key when/if people will put their hands soon on it, so vapourware fits fine on the concept.
  19. LOL : ) Another new quote of the thread!
  20. Only...? No BM pocket v.2 makes no sense, except for Ursa Mini Pro sales.
