LOL : ) OK, let's for one picture now... But I still recommend to eveyone of us to not defocus of that hinted by that guy above in that reminder there... No tools, no AI either (in a so difficult situation this business is) can overcome our own path to form the need other than our own asset: Our ability to create the market. With content. Don't let the audiences (or the channels, as aforementioned TikToks, YTs, etc.) push on our behalf, instead.* There's world outside social media. And the written form in these boards are the fine example of it. As many sensibilities and levels (layers, needs...) as colouful as human kind is. IIRC I recall to have read here in this same thread a couple of pages back and about a certain network, something like there's reality outside the current 2025 news trend (or narrative as it was written), that is, you didn't use exactly all those words in specific or that was the topic (more of it) but your readers are able to infer that from : ) I see it as really meaningful. OK, that guy didn't quote Ortega Y Gasset ; ) but I will now then and as he once said, we are our circumstances, for sure, but they should never overthrow us unless we let them play such part. This operates in lato sensu and in stricto sensu in many aspects of human life. In short, because context can be a bitch = ) we love all these tools (or a good part to each camera release... = D) but as we know, it's not there the main concern of our craft. Hope this helps as reflection of my own indeed, - EAG :- ) * In some other equation-form: sender (encoding) -> receiver (decoding) vs sender <- receiver (trading places, that is, along the process of encoding/decoding completely upside down...) ≠ sender <-> receiver (for some reason we've had Marvel... and a few partisans have respond with Anora as for instance... but do not blame me to go off topic here! xD)

It's curious when we find someone who shares the same thinking as you and not necessarily to mere camera releases/models talk, common grounds or same opinions about... Prolific perspective I vividly recommend to everyone : ) Platform comes next... don't be tied to a prior script/business plan whatever fancy the trend looks like to be, after all, it doesn't apply only to the digital camera world ; ) Work and career flow altogether, no AI (those recent strikes sound too weird to me TBH reminds me the film crowd when digital revolution came or REDvolution popped up), let's repeat, no AI will take you away from your door ;- )

Who is him as member here on EOSHD or just a lurker? I am curious... That BF/Leica thingy remark is also my point (a 'little bit" more price-conscious...) but not exactly as glass-half-full... ; ) On L mount, Andrew has an unbeatable argument for now at least. No idea what comes next in the future but without that (just launched a few days ago and don't tell me it's S35 and praise at same time the presence of the format on FF devices later on, please ; ) won't be easy... The reference to video on GH series to make the format to last and lasts so far, a hint about my recent criticism when motion picture recording modes are neglected... The trouble with GH7 is... price (I think people should read more @eatstoomuchjam on FF ; ) I concur about that AF observation, that's actually the missing link Panasonic was looking for IMHO too. Thumbs up to his complaints on the customary limitations (of the usual yadda yadda on overheating boring like hell to each release) and to the coda of this YT entry, no less : ) BTW tographer is a funny name for hybrid user or just shooter...

Ah I was referring another input, thanks anyway for your care : ) Much appreciated your care and link : )

LOL (Part 2) (ah I hadn't read the rest of the page yet other than that quote, only now ; ) In a single line still for my BMPCC OG remark and tell your wife about? Niche product, expensive and Leica. What single one to pick? ;- ) Some other day just for fun, I gave ChatGPT a 2nd chance to let it guess who I am from the presence of my work out there and see how they have improved the tool. Impressive report. This time, other than addressing me to some social media presence of someone else : D the remaining part and most important TBH was not bad at all : ) To my surprise and hat. Impressed how things are going and coming fast very lately.
-
LOL : ) Surely not, but niche product and small size form factor at least in that pocket OG model in particular... ; ) The point was that I hope Sigma is not willing to follow Leica's route. There's no need for that just to launch such niche product, anyway. Or for that market segment as target. What actually bothers me on this approach is the fact the conceptual idea of such minimalist release is that minimalism may end as synonym of minimizing everything. Or as much as possible. It's not because we have that in our hands, we have no focus on recording modes, should we? Let alone motion picture. It's like those hard still photographers (not our case here) often trying to diminish video mode on hybrid cameras. My vote and yours, I know, is always for filling the cup up to the top, not to cap it. OK, there are limits, being overheating one of them because of obvious limitations of space inside, of course. But 30p?! No 24p/25p!? Or also the restriction of a single HFR such as 120fps (on 1080p, go figure...) is. Minimizing the offer of recording modes? C'mon... Why? Because we have a minimalist camera, we have to focus on design rather than functionality, is the premise or their proposal motto? Design is service. I don't know where these product designers are coming from, Japan very likely : D but if I had been their instructor from schools where I have served as lecturer too, they would have heard that. IMHO it's a failure that departure point (NOT the release of such lovely camera or the concept itself!) and I hope they may invert it in the future with a firmware update. Blackmagic has something I praise. They try to give to the customer everything they can on budget. At least, this is the main reason why they've got me as their customer with a few releases and why I salute their attitude and presence in this industry. - EAG :- )

The whole thoughts expressed by him are priceless : ) I firmly recommend to listen his prelude.

@Andrew Reid Man, I can't wait to see your findings... If Nikon guys would be smart, they would send to you one for free! Don't kid, there is press and press... I believe when you'll start to spill the beans, a few of us also E-mount glass and camera owners (yes, from other camera mount brands) will follow you as their clients too. Pity they don't get. The problem is some people don't understand what this does mean. To own glass already of other manufacturers all included. One doesn't kill the other. - EAG

BF stands for me as boyfriend, so they should have two models, GF too ; ) Jokes apart, I concur small size cameras are something and $2K is fine but my beef is about their video features offer going on there. They make it to wish to Santa Claus but they intend to minimize everything where should not and we cannot charge when we don't deliver : ) One thing is minimal vibe, the other one is what doesn't mean less or should not with. Minimalism is not necessarily a luxury but a need. Optimisation is never a mere experiment. Some people take it as efficiency. That should guide everything, why not to apply the concept to niche products too? They cannot be a synonym of Leica and expensive. At least, since BMPCC OG we have found it. I also wonder on overheating performance for such so tiny room to make it work, no matter how big our crush is :- )
-
No idea when if in 2025 yet but you, me and a few of us risk to not resist to one when will reach the 2500 mark... ;- )
-
I wonder on the limits of length for 8K 60p...
-
Do you find it that way? Well, indeed. Even though cost-benefit I think fills the blanks, maybe just popular among prosumers or hybrid professionals, I'd say to evaluate for the brand's tradition... I struggle to find anything which may interest me maybe other than that not exactly light Sigma 28-45mm f/1.8 or that cumbersome beauty of a Samyang 35-150mm f/2-2.8... And even this latter one putting up a fight against many QC issues and reports.

The same for S35... the key format used for decades on film : ) And FX30, the most underrated release of these last years IMHO, still a no-brainer two years and a half later basically for motion picture. Low light is made of fast glass to only mention something I am used to read as excuse. Welles came from being an inspiration to the whole film noir and be commited to light for deep DOF just in order to have more elements to play with. Everything is shot on FF today, from news interviews to any piece of crap going on TV, whatchamacallit 'show'... go figure! Looks plainly hilarious. - EAG

@Andrew Reid Nice to know : ) Curious to see your findings ;- )

Minimalist to couple such a small factor approach + unique pocket design is a much welcome pair, specially to those like me who hate the typical Japanese camera interface based on a jolly senseless and not user-friendly but endless and useless menus designed by geeks and addressed to them rather than for enjoying the exposure triangle. Never enough or at least as they look when distraction comes up and raises/takes its wrong place. More than to be an ergonomics thing. On the other hand, those two motion picture recording modes? That couple? C'mon, just kid people because it's time for Carnival? : X Eccentric unmatchable 2:1 & 16:9 thingy as single two peas in a pod. Contributed for a smile this Saturday night : ) Hope for a decent firmware update. No exclusive niche product serves as excuse when we want it but cannot have it 'til then... Price is also prone to not be what this company means to those who like (and own) their glass like me (for more than 3 decades these days and still for more less than the classical bargain but invariably usual no-brainers of this same brand to come soon). I wonder what business strategy they have as target... Let alone the criticism read on S1R II now or is Panasonic becoming the Sigma of cameras instead? BTW, speaking of pocket stuff when we talk about cameras, any fanboyism (mine included even that one to pair the most sincere brand agnosticism, why not?) should be my pocket than only size/form factor because means my business & craft. - EAG

You have no need for BBC approved cams -- even though Downing Street praise is always welcome to defeat aspiring dictators for real and those already established for many longer decades before worldwide, you only need that ;- )

This is the kind of user report which immediately makes them to lose any $4K of my own, at least and to say the least no less... PS: Not a lemon? I simply HATE lack of consistency practically about everything in life : ) I don't mind about rebels like our webmaster hence I am here, but don't come to sell me other than that. One thing is standing corrected when pops up -- no perfection on Earth; the other one is random attitude on stuff, we're talking about much different things. Kills any crush.

Got the news just now! And here I am in the same day my own father would turn 86 in this Feb 28 if he hadn't left us one year and eleven nights (ten days) ago... : ( What a sad end/tragedy for one of our legends, terrible news: https://www.tmz.com/2025/02/27/gene-hackman-family-suspects-carbon-monoxide-poisoning-death/ https://variety.com/2025/film/opinion/gene-hackman-tribute-best-movies-the-conversation-1236323080/ Impossible to think of the existence of cinema without his presence forever in our memories. From Gene Hackman's fav movie of his filmography (in his own daughter's words), also a curious metaphor of what life is:

The obsessive RS focus looks like funnier to me when it is coming from same people who often also praise anamorphics... TBH I think that many instead are entitled to concomitantly attend some good stuff talk about... aesthetics. Really. - EAG Grand Prix of the Automobile Club of France, Course at Dieppe 1912 by Jacques Henri Lartigue (1894-1986) Here when he was 92 years old... PS: I wonder what this guy and autheur of one of my fav pics ever shot would think about such particular criticism (I mean this, not exactly whatever critical thinking is or when has place to be) on this and many other capture devices... nowadays. PM me and I send you my shipping address where you can send them to someone who really praises what a few seem to want to see replaced by what? Reality? Really? Is that the object or subject of your scope as shooters? *sigh* What a good education lacks about what "the expression of ideas and emotions through a physical medium" actually means.

@MrSMW So I got you now! (into this online world we live all in... and where you're coming from ; ) you're an Asian EOSHD member in disguise to be a Franciú* shooter, after all! LOL ;- ) * Franc[ês] ("French" in Portuguese language) + Mons[iú] (abbrev. of "Monsieur")

Price point IMHO is half part of their strength. And how reliable their product is, an extra reason why we never put them out of our radar. - EAG

LOL Right : ) That's always the pinch of salt we must bring to the equation almost invariably all the time long, unfortunately. I guess not much to say other than that conclusion where you put your finger straight into the wound, once again... it is what it is, I'm afraid ;- )

In fact, I've just bought one Mark II unit upgraded to work with AF @120fps and my FX30 for a bargain... Less than 70 bucks! :- )
