Without IBIS??! No way, it's useless! LMAO : ) Sorry, I couldn't resist ! ; ) I love you all guys! :- ) Shot on CoModo
-
That 'visibly' remark up there should be in italic but you all get what I mean : ) I think the fact I'm here wondering on the use of a tripod or not, it's already symptomatic per se... ;- )
-
@Andrew Reid LOL I thought what distracted you from 8K was the nice subject... : D Slowmo helps anyway, that's for sure! : ) You're right 8K is not forgiving at all, but can help giving room for reframing or large format prints from video footage grabs, as for instance. @MrSMW Yeah, exactly my feelings : ) Reason why I'm wondering on this one now and paying attention to these early tests :- ) On shutter speed, there are these workarounds why if stabilization works, we might be closer of a more hybrid device. On my doubts how they reached their results, they wrote in their article they're using the Sachtler Flowtech75 aktiv MS tripod, hence why. Only for that part the camera is visibly on a tripod?

@PannySVHS So Marty, now you just need to start putting it rigged with such funny & amazing inspiration : )
-
In any case, handheld approach can fit the job for certain shooting style as it is easily possible to check it out on minute 5:01 there. Gordon Laing's test on 24-105mm f/4 @105mm looks also fairly decent, especially going along the Optical IS only or even coupled to Digital IS, High mode for best results, albeit the crop.
-
As far as I could understand, not every shots are handheld despite the information there... In any case, it's quite promising to those who only need it for shaky hands and use a gimbal when for camera movement shots: 8K 50p is pretty handy to replace a stills camera too ;- )
-
True, they drive us crazy with their hammer : ) The only trick is to be outside of their radar for next releases : D Jokes float around ; ) In my approach, if their digital stabilization will be able to give shaking hands a try, coupled to their RF offer now free of IBIS match once there's no IBIS, who knows, maybe can end handy, I keep my hope up :- ) Not for everyone's needs anyway, of course, and that's a completely shame... Without that annoying counterproductive delay between video and stills we might have a perfect hybrid then. That is, if they wouldn't put their 'big eye' as Brazilian people say on their clientele resources, it's a pity, to say the least : (
-
Well on R5, they don't let you using IS independently going along with their lenses when you turn IBIS off : ) Reason why there are people claiming the R5C is actually an upgrade... LOL :- )
-
Here's now one of my favorite short pieces ever: Met personally him in the distant year of 1994 when we brought this genius and inspiration of many to Portugal (EAG :- )
-
For sure, cinema is a combo like every artistic medium, requiring technology, is : ) Let alone the more complex ones... (EAG :- )
-
Not easy to find this one I didn't remember the details of the title then... (other than the 'perfect yellow' part, until out of curiosity -- not run out of memory anyway, still possible to recover it not exactly along Vimeo, once not available anymore into the director's account) ...when voilá, here's a copy from the good old YT: Just perfect ; ) I vividly recommend... serves who talk artsy but no less the geek inner side of all of us here too! LOL :- )
-
Why strange? If you won't be able to turn IBIS off, it is known Sony and Canon don't match Olympus/Panasonic offer, mainly seen on wide end : ) I still remember when people were ecstatic when 5D2 popped up with so many caveats along 1080p not so long time ago or maybe am I wrong? ; ) Shooters become spoiled much easily... (EAG :- )

As for instance, have anyone noticed the work of this old good fellow here other than a few of us? Take a look on such well done BTS and tell me then that's nothing new to see there... ; ) LOL https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCTXrI3UZLw5e8u66Dv_pnoQ Here's another one:
-
That's priceless, kudos pal! :- )
-
It's natural, Marty, after all, it's a new Canon camera. As you say, there's no even camera yet, so prevails speculation other than the customary paid reviews : ) Have you already check the camera conspiracies react? : D People can have fun anyway still with hilarious stuff and no need to take it much serious, they're just cameras ;- ) That said... let's pay more attention to the footage subforum other than the main one... everyone here! :- )
-
BTW who has used the SSD coupled to P4K with no IBIS won't feel much difference... : P
-
Well, it was not for this dude here... Canon even sent him a camera ; ) and he didn't complain on using external power to shoot 8K 60p either ;- ) Shills aside, I guess I will hardly resist... :- )

What the hell of society is this one...?! https://www.euronews.com/culture/2022/01/26/killed-by-indifference-84-year-old-photographer-rene-robert-dies-in-the-snow-on-busy-paris https://english.elpais.com/usa/2022-01-28/photographer-rene-robert-freezes-to-death-on-busy-paris-street.html

For sure, reason why it makes little to no sense to deny 4K and above don't bring anything new as I've read here a few times... ; ) So @Andrew Reid is also on the spot with his 80% quote over the look : ) Even though, to couple "space", cinema is also and mainly "time" where stuff such as cadence, frame rate, shutter etc., play a no less relevant role (EAG :- )
-
Love your reflections, mate! < 3 Art is all about that, in a word: perception :- )
-
I dunno... What I see despite the distinction between sensors and so on, we can practically mimic any outcome from one to another today ; ) IMO features and respective knowledge and skills count much more than anything else :- )
-
Yes, you're right : ) But let's not forget the whole paraphernalia associated with ; ) That's the whole point, making movies is everything we want but hard like hell as we all know here :- ) For some reason I am focused on the lighter the better, hence to adopt this revolution the miniaturization is! : P Minimum requirements are needed though, that's La Palice's indeed.
-
Medium Format is categorically a whole different format towards stills rather than dealing with motion for obvious and inherent reasons : ) Nice find @Andrew Reid and very enjoyable to watch if any odd doubts people could still raise :- )
-
Don't focus too much on flaws along glass, if under control, they can produce beautiful content from either motivated, unmotivated lighting, even practical light sources as well framing and production values such as locations, subject, etc. when these other requirements are not absent there (EAG :- )
