Agreed : ) I didn't mention sports like soccer... ; ) https://www.premierleague.com/photos But, can we consider it made for "action" too? LOL :- )

Apple is Coming For Y'all: Disruptive Video Production Technologies
Emanuel replied to independent's topic in Cameras
As always, not for every single one but, generally, combos do it better ;- ) -
Really? Go now to say that to a F1 Live Grand Prix director... ; ) https://fotografiaprofissional.org/lente-olho-de-peixe-fish-eye/ It is in Portuguese but it is funny how action seemed out of that professional purpose list ;- )
-
Wrong link. Fixed here. The macro issue stands with the 2nd link. That's a bad job, DJI, very bad job. I fully second camera conspiracies with the award of worst release, if not, ever... of the year for sure ;- )

yup Without mention the whole leftover... A total failure (wth is that?) IMHO despite the (Insta360) design.

Nothing against people enjoying sports footage at all : ) Let alone extreme sports ; ) What I feel annoying is the lack of quality we generally find when people shoot them or the whole mania ad nauseam about it. To begin with absence of care about framing, photography, etc.. Without mention the way people infer a small camera is made for. There's a gap from there to regular capture devices still to be fulfilled. There should be more love for nonintrusive acquisition. Not everyone seeking for miniaturization on cinematography is necessarily looking for action cameras. The way the manufacturers or their marketing sees the trend, is underwhelming, to say the least. To whom like me has his roots based on neorealism or some frontier in-between narrative and documentary, as for instance, will invariably appreciate a small form factor with better IQ match. Not easy to find to each release nowadays, exactly because of the above-mentioned I've just written. Last but not least, all of this also in behalf of extreme sports shooters obviously, why not? ; ) When people know what they're doing ofc :- )

Curious camera feature all about my current fave smartphone... the classic experience of Hasselblad XPan in a smartphone + over 20MP, with a 30 mm focal length of 7552 × 2798 resolution and a 45 mm focal length of 7872 × 2916 resolution : ) And a default black and white mode based on the Ilford Delta 400 film, go figure... https://www.gsmarena.com/oneplus_9_and_9_pro_update_adds_hasselblad_xpan_mode_for_the_camera-news-51009.php by MacLiam source >> more info And now that we know how worthy or not the new DJI Action 2 is... seems clear that's the best 4K 120fps under 800 euros (I bought my unit for 700 euros without VAT)

Nikon Z9 internal RAW codec investigation - what are the details?
Emanuel replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
Delightful read back to the usual EOSHD standards we've been used to ;- ) -
Well, before was the shallow DOF : X Now we have to eat all those horrible artifacts dancing on the usual crappy footage to show off very great healthy life made extreme sports all over YT and camera manufacturers new releases... *sigh* : D
-
And when you see two unrelated people saying the same... It's not from nowhere.
-
Funny dude, talented acting skills BTW : ) He's a rare oasis a bit lost or one of a kind among the other youtubers :- )
-
I wonder on its weight though... Seems bulky : X
-
Absolutely agreed : ) It's a pain watch them... Another total deal breaker on minute 14:18 : (

Sony Xperia PRO-I comes with 1-inch 24mm f/2.0 main camera
Emanuel replied to androidlad's topic in Cameras
Nice find on that Sharp entry, Andrew, had no idea about : ) Back to this release now, to my experience, this sounds much of a planned and very organised marketing move. Ah and I meant for 4K 120 fps up there obviously. -
And YT is already flooded of empty and crappy footage... For Christ's sake! What a miss : X People think wider is more when it is actually the less the more...

Sony Xperia PRO-I comes with 1-inch 24mm f/2.0 main camera
Emanuel replied to androidlad's topic in Cameras
Very true, for some reason I bought mine : ) Better than to not be able to lock the exposure as happens with the ASUS Zenfone 7 Pro despite the flip camera so no total buyer's remorse here ; ) Still willing to check their HDR promise anyway as much as the complete manual exposure they seem to deliver for first-run :- ) -

Shut up, you and I we have no need for, we'll shoot in the meantime with ours iPhone 13 Pro babe ; ) That 4K 120p is a blast in any way whatsoever! -
WOW Estimated price?

I've only been using BRAW so still clueless on topic, my ProRes experience is restricted to the preexisting workflow. Curious to find the miserable brand's White Paper though. Not surprised to check Atomos pushing for the format ofc... Guess where I could find decent information? source >> more info

Which proves digital was not the end of film, just a transformation (EAG :- )
-
That is, the principle is: You're using several acquisition platforms from a panoply of codecs and capture devices available to choose, use and abuse nowadays since RAW or raw as you wish ; ) to H.265/H.264.
-
Something I forgot to put as disclaimer: As far as the inquiry concerns, acquisition codec doesn't necessarily mean to be exclusively ProRes on your choice towards what version you'd be using for mastering it, hence the option of a higher bitrate to be on the table :- )
-
Now that we can shoot ProRes 422 for about a grand, seems an interesting topic to end in a poll here : ) What's your choice? - EAG :- )
