Good luck to England tonight... always in my heart once my Portugal was not able to prevent the inevitable when we're unable to ;- )
-
I wrote "capable" but I should have written «prone» instead ;- ) A last comment on topic... Never thought to arrive to 2024 and see it prior to a century ago : X For real :- )
-
LOL That made me produce a good laugh... : ) Man, you're in France, what are you expecting to? : D Praise your luck 'cause what makes really painful is dubbing which should literally be forbidden, unless expressly authorised by the author(s). It's truly a serious attempt much more worse offense against humankind and this world we live in 2024, no less than a few others than this age made by media tell to ignorant people who don't distinguish a cow capable of harmless milk supply from a raging bull, less than half century later from a lot of stuff popping up in the meantime... ; ) Speaking of devil, do you know that was Mussolini who invented it?

E-mount has this native one with a plus: OSS https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1001008-REG/sony_sel50f18_b_50mm_f_1_8_lens_black.html

Except for the price... ; ) AF @ 100/120fps and... I don't agree at all when reviewer hints MFT is more flexible as far as glass options when you can put them directly to FX30 via MFT -> E-mount adapter but not the opposite. How many cool manual lenses you can have at your disposal? Unique control along with PZ lenses for tracking shots from several speeds, only to mention a single advantage. Clear Image Zoom another one. When people like this scriba here are used to buy the most spread lens mount option to fit the more number of different cameras as much as possible, this is also something to have in mind such as the Megadap ETZ21 adapter to couple E-mount lenses to diversify the setup towards those new Nikon camera releases without losing AF capability. Other than that, better IBIS, higher resolution 5.7K @50fps and open gate recording are neat GH7 advantages. That said, first contact with this guy. Loved the way he gradually answered my questions at same time I was following his clean input as every reviewer should try the best for. In my bookmarks from now on. - EAG

I already have lost my part in a few of them with my OnePlus 9 Pro, pure true, so me too, 1st scope to pay attention to. And hence why my recent FX30 purchase is the answer for. No active cooling? Not my wallet : ) No small overheating toasters are breaking my heart nor bank account : D either such as a Z8 unit BTW :- )
-
It's all about an inherent format look. Serves a lot but not all. Horses for courses ; ) Being IBIS as said above, the most interesting one, not much else to say, frankly : ) Versatile, yes, in fact, but doesn't cover everything. Fortunately AF is now not a miss as far as these tests are able to let us know :- )
-
Right. The use of a smaller sensor size factor is not only the question of DOF, with more or less deep versus shallow look, but the intrinsic quality of bokeh which varies in a variety of specific layers towards much detached aesthetics. For example, still photography, motion picture, soap opera, teledrama, docs, events, etc., are only a general way to address a few categories on this discussion. Many subcategories can be found on each. Which means no matter how many tricks bokeh is not exactly possible to replicate under equivalent variables, there is an intrinsic look on much contrasting subtleties, apparently indistinguishable, but only to the casual eye. - EAG

I would easily take MFT and this GH7 for sure straight to IBIS as replacement of the gimbal when a light setup is crucial. Other than that, I think there is some misinformation. And bias. As far as the circles of confusion really matter to give a specific look. And people actually tend to ignore it...
-
The XLR handle unit without mention has incorporated an extra feature as camera handle not requiring one by itself as happens with auxiliar sound gear, let's not ignore it... Weighs less than a half, isn't it? ;- )
-
Yes, the reviewer hinted it there. F3 from his tip. I bet less bulky than H4essential anyway.
-
I appreciate your care but that's bulky to add there in that setup...
-
Indeed, I'd only forget the GoPro H12 and would wait to see what the next version will offer in a couple of months unless you go with the Back-Bone mod or buy the Ace Pro then, much more interesting really : ) FX30 is unbeatable to my book comparing with the S9 but what do I really know when I am just buying it these days? ;- )
-
Wanna add something? The more newer camera releases the more affordable and closer the older ones will land at your hands if you are the type to keep them forever in your collection, I am : ) I have no idea how many I have from 35mm film to the last couple of ones paid last month and a few days ago, all of them no-brainer bargains TBH, I simply can't resist! LOL : X - EAG PS: Just to not going much off-topic : D my next one will be the Osmo Pocket 3 ; ) and I already have the precedent version...

In certain gigs, the higher the best. Affordable gear doesn't help to maximize the price of the wages. And this is actually what is going on a lot on this plot why the most expensive gear is invariably a good choice ; ) But when you operate just for the sake of the art or strictly making a living from the art, that premise doesn't put food on your table per se. To someone who has already produced a feature film shot on Arri which has been praised and supported by the mainstream of the British Film industry, both routes can really help but the latter always come as secondary and under certain circumstances, never as primary. So, it's a bit upside down the idea people outside tend to retain. - EAG

Other than that @kye has already listed, I think the main difference is the form factor as well I guess RX100 Mark V is also restricted to 8-bit, right? The best camera is always the one you can have with you... There will be MANY situations where one will be able to be there and the other doesn't, so... It is up to you guess who is who on this apples to oranges thing ;- )
-
Yeah, it's truly a pain, I always tend to avoid rentals because of that, no need at all when Blackmagic cameras coexist for a fraction of the cost of other cinema cameras : ) IMO This manufacturer delivered what RED promised :- ) Glad Arri is there but Blackmagic Design is the one indies have to praise. In this business makes a whole difference :- )
-
Brands have no place in the indie world or should not have. - EAG :- )
-
Very true. But this can also mean the guys behind are more of the same, so no risk no story ;- )

It's a good question indeed... : ) Much appreciate the serious tone too I fully concur for the subject matter. That said, I guess the OP does it for fun : P As much as I like to think on topic since 90s at least... And moreover, teaching and guiding some other people about it. And even to be paid for it for three decades already with credits along mainstream players. I salute OP's attitude not all the time when nonsense pops up such as those claims about 24fps death against the rise of 4K/60p as a specific look of today if any. Let's call it a matter of taste though LOL ; ) However, looks to me some fresh individual with a promising future ahead for the passion and commitment involved. So, kudos there for that free, smart and brave spirit which this industry has been made from, let alone the indies world and this corner. :- )
-
LOL I stand my like though : ) but I thought you meant some outcome coming from post instead versus native acquisition and made sense anyway when you placed that "if"... take a 2nd take and read it again ; )
-
As written up there, horses for courses and to each its own... that's where the whole matter of 'taste' pops up and it's useless to discuss the choice for yellow (to those who still don't "believe me", please watch this and you'll be prone to about eight minutes of fun, a trustworthy portrait of a lot of grounds over here which could be addressed to these and other boards and respective 'talks' related and, a masterpiece... enjoy!) ...but it's a point of merit this one for sure, hence a solution for use later on going along the post: And also another useful source of information, especially as first grade but always no less a helpful reading, towards the topic: https://diopte.com/blogs/camera-filters/the-best-filters-for-achieving-cinematic-effects-in-2024

Who here? BTW what about these universal options? https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1245016-REG/triton_audio_fethead_phantom_fethead_in_line_preamp_for.html https://www.thomann.de/intl/jts_ma_123.htm I mean this is not exclusively a single camera model issue but crosses all over this particular camera segment at least... any users here?
-
From this conversation here and because no less often, people start to blame the camera device other than some other choice of the user or even taste : X let's start with the black mist one... who likes it and not? Here's some comparison test with distinct values of it: Horses for courses ;- )
