  1. Agreed : ) My hope is they upgrade their firmware uplifting their recording limits and Tilta may prove to be able to diminish the heat in a way the user can extend the usage for 8K & 4K 120fps not for continuous recording, obviously, but definitely not for the brick all this hassle meant to be.
  2. Yeah, there's a point there indeed. That one. People have the right to claim for their rights. The fact is they're not alone on this game to be honest. Many others do the same. But did anyone succeed to penalize them so far? They will surely say the same as other manufacturers in the past to comprehend design and assembling in their defense, very likely. In any case, this has damaged their reputation. The fact per se is subject to be liable for that. I guess Jinni.Tech cannot be afraid. They have how to prove it, isn't it? ; ) Even though, liability doesn't end there, it is a very serious match for both sides and costs money. I wouldn't surprise myself if the mountain laboured and brought forth a mouse in the tail end.
  3. Have you ever considered the 5.1K route coupled to a speedbooster + EF lenses? They say it doesn't show overheating issues.
  4. It is invariably the only way to put the legal system to work. People/companies just protect their own. No need for guns : X Law is the most civil and proper approach. This tells how respectful a business should be run.
  5. Standard-form contracts are a plague but this is nothing about a single company. I protest against them practically in a daily basis and I don't need to tell the world there's a demon to kill. However, my point still stands in the same side as Jinni.Tech's for that matter. Trademark. It's a protected name and its usage. Obviously not for every single industry existent on planet earth. WIPO treaties gives anyone such right to fight for. If there are Courts to protect one side, this applies both ways. There's a principle in every legal system: equity. That is, there's no place to burn one side in the public square in advance.
  6. Internet. Well, I am like Andrew, actually... This soap opera requires to be summarised : D In the meantime, there are still people focused to keep shooting... with great cameras, fortunately, there's where filmmakers express their feelings, not somewhere else : ) Great outcome BTW: :- )
  7. I understand your observation. But RED's too. I see Jarred in the perspective of a manager. He could not be stuck nor silent. He has a crisis he has to deal with. RED's legal team has to protect their client's assets. This is a competent move from their end. Exactly because any lawsuit is a game card. RED customers can easily realize who is in charge. RED service tops because of Jarred, his skills and his talent to choose his team. As his friend for a decade and a half now, I am really proud of him. E :- )
  8. The same clients will buy the mark II, so why to cut the revenue in a half? : D
  9. This only means they have a capable legal team. When you'll go to the Courts, you're not there to lose the battle. I am proud of Jarred. E :- )
  10. Other than that, I guess he can handle it going along with 5.1K crop coupled to a speedbooster... ;- )
  11. It is "massively unprofessional" going to any gig without more than a couple of camera units at least... ;- )
  12. What about engineering filmmakers...? : D source Because of outcome from amateur hands like this sample here: :- )
  13. With this overheating issue? Never. Solved or through a workaround to comprehend Raw 12-bit 8K 24p/25p/30p & H.265 4:2:2 10-bit 4K 120fps? Definitely, yes, without any other contender able to compete as of today. Take a look on that comparison test against the RED babe... : ) I imagine Jim already bought one : D
  14. Blackmagic is a great brand indeed, just not idea if they can compete with Atomos' HDR... :- )
  15. Stop man to make my day with a good laugh! : ) I know you're so fanboy of them like I am! LOL ; ) Even because in the day they'll sort it out I'll have to spend a few grand on theirs... : X
  16. I am still hoping they will release some firmware update to help to extend the recover period, hence that's crucial for a lot of further buyers purchase, myself included. Without it, I am out : ) Here's a real user's test:
  17. Thanks for your post : ) Transcoding not for all or a firmware update will solve a part of that, I hope. But is a7SIII really better in anything other than no light shooting and I had missed so far?
