  1. I'd say taking their 23 degrees remark, it is prone to variably help I believe. It is worthy... I don't know if you've already realized there's no other similar camera for under more than a few 5 digits... this one is for a fraction of such price! Now add your EF glass or buy some affordable out there for a few hundred of bucks and let's have a perfect camera in hands ; -)
  2. Yeah, Irene is a stills photographer but she is a hell (or should I say paradise? ; ) of a prolific portrait photography shooter, one of the most compelling Canon users I've ever found more recently to operate with in the brand's CS look range and taking properly advantage from: https://500px.com/irenerudnyk https://www.instagram.com/irenerudnykphoto/ Her natural shooting style is captivating to say the least. A lesson to pixel peeping & other geek sportsmen ; -)
  3. Until some accessories manufacturer will come with something like this ; ) https://www.telescope.com/Astrophotography/Astrophotography-Accessories/Orion-DSLR-Camera-Cooler/c/4/sc/61/p/101916.uts https://pcper.com/2016/10/strap-a-peltier-to-your-dslr-so-you-can-lengthen-your-exposure/
  4. With the new R5, there will surely be people who will be thinking to adopt one for their arsenal like me : ) Not yet decided, but I am impressed so far to be sincere, so here is my fair wondering. How many of you have used good oldie EF lenses going on this new* mirrorless series? What about AF? And stabilization in-camera with on EF glass side, for video purposes? Here's something neat I've found: * to me, at least : -)
  5. It didn't surprise me, they wouldn't put the eggs in the same basket : ) It's a specialised tool IMHO, the most advanced hybrid tool so far and not exactly a cinema camera as we're used to see : -) Better than the use of a smartphone from a tiny sensor size without question... Or is there anyone to disagree here? ; -)
  6. Not proper for events cinematography as part of your main setup plan, better count on it, oh yeah. I guess the explanation is their high-end aka C-series.
  7. Without a B camera, wedding shooters are fried... LOL : ) Definitely, does not suit the job.
  8. Not need an Alexa this one won't replace for sure : ) I am mostly seeing it as the perfect hybrid tool now. I wouldn't replace the Blackmagic ones used on set, of course. But you will also be in trouble if you go nowadays to a production with just a single one or even without more than a couple of camera units as part of your Plan B, as well : -) Indeed. This is not the cinema camera per se. Just a new tool I see a pretty neat usage as quite handy hybrid swiss-knife for a lonely shooter without needing for long takes.
  9. You will surely have some other alternatives on set. Horses for courses : -)
  10. Any restrictions on the HDMI feed? An Atomos add-on might be interesting to overcome that...
  11. Yeah, I had just read it in the meantime actually, thank you for your care and this article entry : ) I honestly think only overheating may become an issue if you need long recording takes for events, interviews, etc. Other than that, seems to me very handy under 750g as lone ranger portable/hybrid capture device indeed : -)
  12. Thanks : ) Seems a win-win and the top dreamy one for now. What misses there? They've listened after all, isn't it? ; ) I feel myself tempted to buy one : -)
  13. Indeed : ) I feel my world terribly empty today... Sorry to have to write here but this man is part of myself and I am simply very, very sad with his physical death : ( No other chance to see his legendary work in a live performance or a new work by his hands, it's enough to figure out that with his disappearance there's the end of a golden age marked by this living legend.
  14. After a fall where broke his femur a few days ago... : ( With his gift, the music he made cinema is not with him anymore, belongs to all of us. (in a personal note, unforgettable to have seen him personally in a live concert... in Rome, a decade ago) https://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-19626787 https://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/breaking-ennio-morricone-dead-legendary-22307636 https://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/style/ennio-morricone-wrote-the-perfect-soundtrack-for-a-time-when-we-miss-movies-more-than-ever/2020/07/06/3da3926a-bf8f-11ea-b178-bb7b05b94af1_story.html https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/ennio-morricone-dead-prolific-italian-composer-was-91-858358 https://variety.com/2020/film/news/ennio-morricone-ten-essential-scores-listen-1234698965/
  15. For some reason, I'd rather see people posting with their real name and a minimal background information. Nothing on pay attention to what I'm saying but not about I'm doing.
  16. In fact. Both Upstream Color and Jaws stand. What's exactly the point? We should all know DOF doesn't exclusively depend on sensor size. Add faster glass (MFT format is actually much more affordable, a way lighter and a bunch of versatile options wait for you) and you'll stay in.
  17. Is it available anywhere online for a screening, in motion? Movie trailer?

Indeed, very likely to happen, it's the last generation to gather their attention for sure : ) As far as my own experience with business practices and manufacturers building personal relationships directly with their camera staff and PR contacts before firmware updates were even used in this industry yet (I'd say earlier mid-90s since 1992 or so : -)
  19. They can both work out, actually do the DIY job.
