  1. In the same vibe on here because of P6K and R5 for now as seems EF lenses is the most consensual glass route these days for hybrid use... What are your favorite ones today?
  2. September 1. We ain't so far from there then, correct? Any date to put on our calendar now?
  3. I bet so too but, I've just received from CDA TEK support on the now released v6.9.6 update a few days ago, so I guess we're pretty safe with our Irish supplier :- )

    Panasonic GH6

MFT rocks, no matter what : ) Filmmaking means choices and you have plenty of them as far as glass concerns (cameras don't shoot without it) you can only dream of, going with a bigger format size... that's a fact :- )
  5. More from Leica's press statement: According to the source, these lenses will begin to appear at lens retailers from August through to December 2020. The Portuguese-made lenses will include the following: Leica Summilux-M 50mm f/1.4 ASPH (black) Leica Summilux-M 50mm f/1.4 ASPH (silver) Leica Summilux-M 50mm f/1.4 ASPH (black-chrome) Leica Summicron-M 35mm f/2 ASPH (silver) Leica Summaron-M 28mm f/5.6 (silver) Leica Summicron-M 28mm f/2 ASPH Leica Summicron-M 50mm f/2 (black) Leica Elmarit-M 28mm f/2.8 ASPH Leica began producing cameras and lenses in Portugal in 1973 at a factory in Vila Nova de Famalicão, about 25 miles (40km) north of the city of Porto. In 2013, the factory was completely upgraded in a refit costing some €23m. https://leicarumors.com/2013/03/22/leica-camera-ag-opens-new-plant-in-portugal.aspx/
  6. "With this new production line at Leica Camera’s state-of-the-art facility in Portugal, Leica has decided to offer USA consumers a choice to buy a selection of some of the most popular and essential Leica M-Lenses, stringent to the same quality and standards expected from Leica as our German-made products, Made in Portugal, at a much lower price than their Made in Germany counterparts. The price differential is a direct result of tariffs, and in no way indicative of quality standards." https://www.reddotforum.com/content/2020/08/leica-introduces-made-in-portugal-m-lenses-at-lower-pricing/ Made about 40-50kms / 25-30 miles away of where I am while I am writing these lines here now... :- ) https://www.fdtimes.com/2017/02/22/leica-portugal-tour/ http://www.fdtimes.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/80FDTimes-LEICA-PortugalFactoryTour.pdf
  7. From these entries on @horshack's thread, in spite of them, here*, here and there*, I still wonder... how accurate is any of this contradictory information? *
  8. The best camera is that one with us then, isn't it? ; ) Reason why I praise AF & IBIS, no matter how old school I or we come from :- )
  9. You're in your right : ) I for once traded my yet new 5DII used mainly for motion picture and still part of my collection for a GH1 somewhere between the streets of Ljubljana and Zagreb because of form factor. Used mostly for stills, yeah, go figure! : D Never looked back. Love small devices, glass and pocket size included, hence my MFT love as well < 3
  10. I am lost now, my friend : ) Is the new firmware update safe then? I am in the market to commit the sacrilege to probably buy one... I'm sorry I can't resist with an effective mod on the corner ; ) The hybrid shooter inside me begs for it! LOL 8K / 4K 120fps / IBIS / AF combo is too much... to resist quiet! : D
  11. I obviously follow your point but isn't MFT enough and much budget friendly to free you out for sharing our precious resources anywhere else? ; ) My Samyang 12mm f/2.0 or even a Laowa 7.5mm f/2 (to match a f/4 aperture as 35mm equivalent) will perfectly fulfill the bill, trust me... ;- )
  12. I don't see why you have to struggle with a 10mm lens and not with a 20mm one on FF : D I sincerely don't. Pardon me but looks like mere prejudice and misconception going on here. There's nothing limited on MFT, on the opposite, it is a much more affordable format and you have many more glass options. Codecs?!! WTH this should be or actually is connected with the sensor format?? Only resolution can justify a larger sensor size, not else! Not even low light today. E :- )
  13. Guess who joined the party? @DBounce you're missed man, you must have lost your password... what else? ;- )
  14. Baseless/clueless/nonsense indeed ; ) There's nothing crippled on MFT, as matter of fact, we cannot say the same on FF side today... LOL ;- ) To be straightforward... with the sensor used on GH5s/P4K, not even to justify the sensor size to achieve low light performance. Coupled to fast glass, DOF applies too, so what is left? Only the price of the cameras and glass, that's it. The same way we have a defective offer on the new toy just arrived: strictly commercial reasons.
  15. Seems 96 clips instead of... 30 seconds each?! Should we celebrate then? *cough cough*
  16. Oh, you have (dedicated) wide angle lenses on MFT end as well! ;- )
  17. In certain languages, obstacle can be a noun or a verb. Seems in English the most suitable verb is a most refined form, that is, to block. That's the only move we can expect from them... Focus on a mod solution. Other than that, looks like perfectly useless because it depends on a business decision just straight in the opposite direction.
  18. No, I think mod team is going in the right direction. Need to forget any further move from Canon instead. As well, future firmware updates. It is quite probably it will never happen. At least for soon. The only ones will probably be to obstacle the good efforts to put this camera to serve filmmakers. Our only hope is an usable mod.

  20. This is just a mere business. This put them on shame. Embarrassing to say the least. Hackers/modders are more dignified (and reputable parties) than established manufacturers as Cannot. What a strange world we all live in.
  21. Why doesn't Canon UK support EOSHD as they do with these dudes? (and I do appreciate Gordon Laing's objectivity anyway) Because they serve the brand's goals instead. Here's why we should ALL support the spirit and good efforts of this mod team here (I'd rather call it mod than hack as matter of fact!) It is here where filmmaking tech vanguard is (Andrew's credit/credentials), not where the commercial target rises up. E :- )
  22. Seems not a single word on topic... or I am lost over here? I am not as smart as @BTM_Pix ; ) so please can anyone explain what does this shit exactly mean? Thank you! I only wanna know if I will buy this thing or not... Firmware fix or mod/hack, anything serves if it fits the bill and does the job just fine, I am not so much picky :- D
  23. Is it a test, right? Let it see till where and how far it goes... Temperature(s) measure is mandatory, of course. Other than that, important is to check if there's an usable mod here to pop up. That is, if they won't try to restrict it through a firmware update from the last rumors on a new one to come.
