"Amateur" or "PRO" labels are mere lousy concepts not exactly proportionally connected with the outcome we get. It worked, that's what counts in the end. Once safety is not compromised by your setup... ; ) I've seen you've shot using film too. Had good experience with Gauge Film? Why not a local provider? (located in France, correct?)
-
A bargain for the price. I'd rather choose any of both A6300 or GH4 over the a7s anyway : ) Enjoy them, any of them are proper tools in good hands, though. It is your talent to make them shine : -)

A new industry standard: Fully controlled reviewers

You're right and... oh yes, affiliate links are a plague of these days. -

That would be a great initiative, Andrew and I recall Kodak as for instance to have offered something similar in the past, but are they willing to offer it ever, today? There are many players in the digital realm, the world is different nowadays. Sony, for example, has changed in twenty years as far as my memory serves the way their marketing was used to work twenty years ago. No need to go back, even though, a decade earlier when I started my career their commercial practices didn't much differ. Seems we live in another century now. I think that's where also comes part of my weakness for brands like Fuji Film, only to mention their case. Old school : ) No idea if they stand their former programmes anyhow, they probably have to adapt themselves to the other contenders' policies. -

LOL I find the point very clear to everyone though : -) -

Deal : ) But do you follow how the point fulfills our discussion? "The internet should not be a big shill platform in my view" either. Point me out how many unbiased press we find out there? ; -) -

Unbiased voices like the one you rule are a lighthouse to ward off a commercial target-setting culture each day more widespread among the herd of Internet users and an easy target for the e-business we all live in. It wouldn't surprise me at all if one of these days you'd receive some interesting offer for EOSHD to be swallowed by some hungry fish, to eager your audience, meanwhile raised. Reason why I'd rather center my focus on you as individual and independent reviewer than the press brand you manage. -

You didn't let me finish my post, I was still editing it at the same time... LOL Anyway, I read once more some post to personally address a new attack ad hominem to be read over here, this kind of crap sucks IMHO, people are here to discuss opinions or for shooting the messenger in a private website? I don't think industry's marketing is aggressive, go figure. Without mention, they play their role. Ours is not the same. Our side of the game is another one, so does the POV. It is the shill who performs a misservice to the community the reviewer pretends to serve. Sponsored content as mandatory disclaimer applies then. Internet is part of that we recognise as non-formal knowledge, it is up to us to filter the information we gather. We beg for reliable sources as for instance this one you've created here. The point is the game is tough, so I hope you'll never quit of the commitment you've established with your readers. Because we risk one day to lose it. Internet business is becoming bigger, oh yeah, that's for sure. I give you an example from a different realm. How many from us have never used Skype anymore since Microsoft bought it? Got my point? That's why I always try to praise the connection of EOSHD brand with the guy behind. If one day, they outside see the sales potential of your editorial stuff, we risk to lose it as much as has happened now with Olympus, I'm afraid... such a pity. This is an industry, a business, no one has anything to complain. We are all adults, ain't we? ; -) -

It means I've always supported you, no matter if people like you or not, you're honest at least. You let your enthusiasm to speak by yourself. You're influenced as everyone of us. But you don't write anything because some manufacturer paid you for that, as far as I see your work and your opinions for almost a decade now. Reason why me and many others are your readers. I struggle to accept some other reviewers without to discount a pint of salt as due. In short, you're rare as camera reviewer, man, and that nobody can even dream to steal such badge from your career. Keep up that compromise with your audience or the world will lose the most valuable asset of this website. Who wants bias? Moreover, who is looking for paid reviews? E : -) -

Paid reviewers ain't fair game. Period. - E. -
In fact, this doesn't make her to not attract me as a hell of a camera, lovely imagerie in so handy form factor, unique of a kind. Just can't justify to myself to have her, a pity. I'm afraid I won't have anything to object when Mark II will be out there. Until then, my Magic Lantern Canon Ms, no 4K60p either, do the job ; ) Mini Alexa is a proper 'petit nom' for now : -)
-
Still lacks 4K60p, a deal breaker to me, unfortunately.

The New Panasonic G100 “vlogging” Camera to launch June 24th
Emanuel replied to Video Hummus's topic in Cameras
Odd not 4K60p, when any smartphone without mention Osmo Pocket and alike have it... -
Probably not, but $700k is impossible to vanish in the air. So, this will invariably add an extra production value when we believe in the skills of the people involved. It is still a risk but who is able to save that, it will likely be able to bet on their own. Not different to invest in any other business from a business plan. Well, I hope they really had it... : -D - E .

Yeah, we're not worthy : -D

Man, everything I've seen by you pops up out from there so splendid that any dust coming is cinematic... hehe ; ) But I meant on your rig this time : ) Just curious (E : -)
-
Seems very interesting, my friend, don't wanna to give us more about it?
-
Very promising stuff... Really : ) You're welcome! I am even now nationally proud for you : -) Ideas are all subjective made, no doubts there... That's the confluence with reality to result in something eminently true and effective. So-called objective, as well, why not? ; ) Maybe time to post it there in the corner Andrew has opened for all of us? https://www.eoshd.com/comments/forum/21-footage/ PS: Sent you PM : -)

Well, that reflection sounds to me to directly associate to cinemascope versus TV stuff... Strictly narrative dream-like domain opposed to a real window over the world, right in the centre of our living room in the place of the cross of before. The history of the second half of the precedent century we all are. Food for thought indeed... I see, Portuguese legacy rocks! ; -)

Parabéns Francisco, my compliments! Very well written trailer, meu patrício : ) Just wondering, what capture device(s) have you used for those two works there? And why that 4:3 option route BTW, today? Emanuel : -)

Maybe not. But I see it like that. A matter of style? Different background or another native language? We've been in touch in private. I even had the pleasure and joy to be helpful to you more recently in some major and much more serious issue. You and I perfectly know it. I've always been supportive of you. Who else has defended you outside? The same way I don't appreciate to read unfriendly vibes associated with you either towards you or from you. You can always count on my sincere support to you. Civil and friendly. The same way I am expecting the same from everyone addressed to you or to me.
-
Chris, me too : ) Not exactly to couple that EOS R camera but a few others. I yet wonder if it will really bring some extra advantage, because if not why to bother with? OK Andrew, I will try to refrain both to praise the Pocket series camera as well asking to not going on personal attacks on your beloved forum. This is not only a personal opinion. Even today, I've received private messaging in the same page. I like both, this place and your work. You know it. I won't even refer our private stuff, even recently. I bet it should always remain friendly and helpful, I wish. When people like some stuff either be individuals or gear, our craft, etc we fight for it. There are distinct realms, but even on public, believe me, I wish it could be run from an armchair... LOL (but I do understand your expression) No, man, I have many people on film sets. I pay salaries. They don't work alone. Distinct different crafts in the same industry. And I even have to go to the Courts at times when there are conflicts to solve, unfortunately. I can only speak for my experience. But I've always been supportive about you (here and outside) when I see some player not treat you like my own bias on you would love to. Blackmagic, dvxuser, reduser, DPReview, Cinema5D... Even yesterday. You read it. Please I don't want to play such scapegoat role now : ) You know yourself better than anyone as much as I can speak by myself but for sure not about the experiences I don't have. Reason why when someone like you comes to this location with a new combination of gear, people like me who appreciate to read you tend to ask and interact with you. Please don't be hostile with your loyal readers. We can't all have the same style. This is tolerance. Not only electing the right politician for the job. I've read a lot of stuff I genuinely cannot second. I beg you, be the old chap we all love to see. - E.

Actually, this one is available on YT: Just only snaps and not video... : ( Seems the right job for you, Andrew... I believe we cannot ignore how valuable the results all these combination tests can lead. Maybe with Brian's bless? I think everyone has everything to benefit from this sort of initiatives left by your forum members... Pure thumbs up ; ) finally in a much more (co-)productive way in the good old tradition of this forum : ) Let's obviously second the plea : -)
