Horses for courses... I bet it works for what you're doing but not for every kind of gigs or outcome for sure. As above-mentioned, many distinct realms for camera work.

And for those who have multiple camera ecosystems... I usually take with me several camera brands with me, so. Menus are an unnecessary distraction. I understand there are distinct footprints of demanding, of course. We cannot compare certain work addressed to big screen with that content made for YT, for example. But. For a certain level? Time makes a whole of a difference. Means a loss somewhere else. - EAG

Puzzles me how a camera can be the best capture device out there as that YT entry seems to make us believe when overheats like a toaster without remedy...

Who here too? These manufacturers we're used to praise here other than - maybe - a few if any? (for some reason Blackmagic cameras are a graceful exception with their intuitive user interface) ...are killing the pleasure of photography. This is a science and art born a way before these idiots have been born. We only need three commands to control aperture, shutter speed and sensitivity. Eventually a SINGLE menu for electronic/feature/recording modes when applicable such as AF, stabilization, etc., and that's it! Full stop. Other than that, go to hell with your bloody menus! End of story. Users need time for the craft in order to develop creative skills and create stuff, not handling electronics strictly proper of a moron or a geek in the photography world. Pick one but don't call yourself a shooter.

Form. The guy says form is worthless. And at same time, the basics of any beginning as sorta raw material that it is. There are two 'Yes' and 'No' options. The fourth is made for those ones informed but not endorsing it ; ) The only bias I see or can accept is when the OP : D calls them old school... which is actually different to infer those people as old fashioned anyway. Hence the ecletic meaning of the use of the term old school there. : P Old school is for informed people being the OP one of them ; ) However, this doesn't mean an old school guy cannot adopt a promising technology like this one. So, not everyone of them are represented there. If this is a biased opinion, let's embrace the bias then! LOL ;- )

The example to pop up to my mind now. Old school in this context means a strict mindset on topic where people who tend to see it as a mere hype, don't see any valuable use nowhere. Give the same script to distinct directors, you'll have different movies. The point is when people who have added zero to the equation just for the sake of the topic, come to criticise without adding anything to the discussion either. Very true... : ) I have found those APS-C format 16mm & 20mm f/2.8 pancake native lenses both interesting options to also take advantage on Clear Image Zoom/crop modes on Sony FF side too, though. People are used to criticize the optical performance in the corners but character and form factor are no less priceless aspects to consider especially when handling motion.

haha but it's that infamous 50fps you were used to praise here, remember? ; ) I like to have it at disposal though... lots of details, opens a bunch of distinct routes such as hybrid use for fashion, large format print, etc., straight from video stream to also stills use at same time, for example. Motion blur and softness (for some reason people are addicted to bokeh) is key for cinematic outcome anyway. - EAG
