Nikon AF-S 28-70mm f2.8 IF ED is one of the best lenses I have , it is the 'Bourne' Lens - used on Bourne Ultimatum , Captain Phillips and James Bond Casino Royale . On a micro 4/3 camera with a speed booster/ lens turbo it is superb! it becomes approx a 20-50 f2 BOKEH MONSTER ! with a super 35mm field of view from the Speedbooster. very very filmic - it doesnt get much better than this!!

They make different lenses for different size cctv sensors , you want the 1" sensor models not the ones made for smaller 2/3 " and 1/3 " sensors as they vignette too much. - They are not knock off lenses they are different models that is why they have different model numbers. there is an older pentax cosmicar 25mm f1.9 with zebra markings and the newer pentax cosmicar 25mm f1.4 - smaller a better lens there are 3 versions of this - original made in Japan , then a made in china version and the latest is made in Vietnam optically they are all the same - I have all 3 there is no differeance all Fujinon lenses I own are made in Japan - I dont have any not made in Japan do not confuse Fujian brand with Fujinon Fujian is a Chinese CCTV lens maker - their lenses are no way as good as Fujinon of Japan.

  9. As soon as you use someone elses work on your video without permission it is copyright theft - thats the law its noting to do with creating something new or influences - you can be inspired to write your own music in a similar style etc then do that its legal to be inspired ! by taking a sound recording that belongs to someone else it is just copyright theft. Sound recordings have a monetary value to who ever owns them and created them. the thing is Cold Play or who ever probabaly dont want any of us to use their recording on a video and thats their choise , just because you are I like some music doesn't mean we can just use it , the band have a say its their work . for instance in 1996 Michael Jackson asked me to remix his song 'They Dont Care About Us', it took us (Love To Infinity) 14 days to do the work for Sony/Epic his record label - we got paid for doing so , His record label OWN the sound recording ...not me . Even I cannot use this song on my video I made that I want to upload to Vimeo , even though I legally worked on the record and have Silver Disc on my Lounge wall from the sales it achieved , I dont own the recording Sony Epic own it - I cannot use it - yet my name is on the cd !
  10. very well said - this is totally true - create your own - do not steal !
  11. if you get an EF mount lens turbo/speedbooster you can use Canon Glass on it - shoot wide open and use Tiffen NDs on the front, if you get a set of ND2, 4 ,8 and 16 stack them to get the exposure you want and retain the narrow dof of shooting wide open !!
  12. An Olympus OM 2 is a full frame 35mm stills camera your gh4 is a mirrorless digital camera with a x2 crop factor on your lenses so your 50mm OM lens is longer on your gh4 by a factor of x2 (100mm FF equivilant) You do need to read up on this as crop factors and full frame, they have different looks. Im sure your speedbooster is working fine - if it has a lump of glass in it it will be making your 50mm OM lens x0.7 wider just remember you have a x2 crop to factor into it all

if you like the 50mm Pancolar which is a very good lens I love it !! ........wait till you get a Carl Zeiss 50mm Planar f1.7 in C/Y mount - its even better ! much sharper and serious bokeh tastic very rich warm colours and good contrast and blacks the Planar for me is king of all 50mm - nothing comes close
  18. Quirky its very evident from reading all these posts that people are using other peoples copyrighted work/music for free with out permission - many have mentioned it in this thread . There is a feeling that if you paid for the cd or download you own it and can use it anyhow . Or if its is too complicated to get a syncronisation license - to just use it anyhow . That is why Vimeo and Youtube are having to clamp down as they are finally being pressured by the Music Industry to get their house in order. And rightly so !

    50mm prime?

Yashica 50mm f/1.7 is 99.999% practically identical to the Carl Zeiss 50mm f1.7 Planar which is king of 50mm in my book. they are made in the same factory in Japan - I have both and there is nothing in it. identical ! side by side tests here http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1045758 The Yashiac 50mm f1.4 is slighly softer wide open PS: we have started a new thread just for lenses please post and look in it,
  20. it really is a case of 'do as you would be done by' if you create copyright material of your own and sell it and you dont want people taking it for free , be that books, videos , music, songs, films , magazines, articles , online content too etc then dont take other peoples work either and use it for free without permission. I produce all my own music , and I also comission (pay for ) new original music from other producers and writers. I dont ever use any music I dont now own or have a license to use.
  21. exactly ..... thats why you need a sync license to use a track My publisher has a whole department assigned JUST for syncs they also actively push my work to adverts and films I've had tracks Ive produced or remixed on the Hollywood films First Wives Club, My Best Friends Wedding , Studio 54 and Sliding Doors (Aqua - Turn Back Time , no1 on the UK chart ) all properly done with sync licenses , contracts and royalty payments. Ive also turned down films I dont want to be associated with ....it works both ways.
  22. I totally agree it needs reforming massively its the Record Industries own fault this huge collapse happened as they sat still for 10 years and did very little, the whole thing with sync fees is complex as you need to clear the recording rights with the record company and the publishing rights with the publisher ....it takes time and one can say yes and the other no - so you are then stuck - no sync.
  23. there seems to be a fundamental missunderstand that when you buy a cd or buy a download you ' own it ' as you have paid for it , so you can reuse it on your video as you 'paid for it'. Thats not true - you have paid for the right to listen to the music on your ipod or cd player - thats all You do not own the rights to reuse the music on a video on youtube or vimeo. You have to pay syncronisation fees to be able to do that legally.
  24. create your own music ,or commission someone to create for you . taking someone elses music without permission is just pain copyright theft and technically illegal, and it only now the Music Industry is very very slowly catching up and clamping down on Youtube (which survives on totally illegal content ) and Vimeo that is also guilty of this. All these companies know they are profiting from illegal content uploaded onto their sites, they have just done nothing for years to stop it. as it makes them money and not the artist or record company, They should have done this 10 years ago , then the music industry would not be in such a dire mess it is now! I have personal experience of this as I was nominated for a Grammy and have Produced and Remixed over 400 records worldwide and had over 90 top 40 hits , 65 + Gold, Silver and Platium Records in my 25 year career in the Music Industry as a Record Producer under the name Love To infinity. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Love_to_Infinity http://www.discogs.com/artist/11911-Love-To-Infinity?type=Credits&subtype=Remix
