Kendy Ty and the T2i - one guy doing amazing things with a 5 year old DSLR
andy lee replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
The Sigma 30mm f1.4 is a very good lens it was my standard lens on my 550d (its an aspc lens not a full frame lens), I have shot about 10 pop videos with this lens and the Canon 50mm f1.4 which works well with it as a companion lens . I still use the Sigma on my G6 as it is very sharp wide open for low light scenes and with the Lens Turbo EF to micro 4/3 adapter it is even sharper wider and now faster.....F1.0 and approx 21mm on the G6 ,which is great for all those Fincher style low light wide shots - This just goes to show its not the camera its the person behind the camera that counts. -
welcome to the forum Slothrop - its all totally subjective as its all art.....

Pancolar is a great lens - use for head shots and the Yashica 35-70 I mainly use on the 70mm setting as a variable prime

I would think it works fine , its a regular micro 4/3 speedbooster not a deeper bodied version like Metabones make with stronger power glass do a quick google and see if people are using on it

Im using this one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Adapter-for-Contax-CY-Mount-Lens-to-Micro-4-3-M43-Camera-GF1-GH1-E-P1-GF5-GH3-/321168199767?pt=UK_Photography_CameraLenses_Lens_caps_hoods_adaptors_ET&hash=item4ac71dd057 Im also using a Mitakon Lens Turbo Speedbooster in Canon EF mount to Micro 4/3 and then adding a Contax C/Y to Canon EF mount adaptor onto the lens http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mitakon-Lens-Turbo-Focal-Reducer-Adapter-Canon-EOS-EF-to-m43-MFT-Olympus-camera-/111334820238?pt=UK_Photography_CameraLenses_Lens_caps_hoods_adaptors_ET&hash=item19ec12898e This makes this Carl Zeiss 28-70mm which is a stunning lens into 20-50mm unbelieveable lens!! wider sharper and faster.....

Thank you - I have just seen the new boxes that come up on my screen relating to this. I do respect this is your forum Andrew , you created it from scratch and have built it up into what it is today, a place we all have to talk, a great forum to discuss the subjects we are all deeply passionate about - cameras. lenses and cinematography. If everyone remembers that respect does not cost anything and if you treat people as you would yourself like to be treated, then there will never be any issues.

hey Dische - some news I have been reading that RJ was somehow involved in making the castings originally for the Mitakon Lens Turbo , as RJ runs a CNC machining company in China - RJ then did their own version of a Speedbooster which is what they are selling now So both may well be very good similar ish items?? this may explain why both are good unless someone has both to try side by side we are still non the wiser I only have the Mitakon Lens Turbo and it kicks ass !! Im very happy with it!!

Ive started off shooting 16mm then 35mm film in the early 1990's and this is without a doubt the one thing I have bought with the most 'wow factor ' since then. I was gobsmacked as to how good this Mitakon Lens Turbo is ......its staggeringly good!! I have the Nikon version and bought it just to use on my Angenieux designed Tokina AX-T Pro Series 1 28-70mm f2.6 zoom lens Now this is a very very good lens on it own!! once I put the Lens Turbo on it - it became a STELLER LENS!! Im now getting sharp peaking blue all over my image on my Panasonic g6 it is noticable sharper and brighter and now wider!!! it has a very very good cinematic look to it , so I highly recomend you get one !!

Having just got my Speedbooster this week and from all my tests I would agree with Andrew on this. Sharper, faster, wider , to the naked eye it all loooks good! Im not bothered about issues of fringing; corners etc etc , if I have to actually go looking for it by zooming in , then its not really an issue for me etc ,,thats for pixel peepers in the real world it looks better ....so Im using it from now on.

it looks very clear and sharp !!
