  1. eerrr.....they are pretty cinematic lenses...Im not sure what you dont like about them?? you will need some wider lenses on your BMPCC , thats all ! but those Nikon lenses are good !! fast and good bokeh speedbooster will increase the centre sharpness a bit too
  2. I have Tiffen Promist 1 and 1/2 filters they are not really what I would use for low contrats on a zooms as they do massively soften the Image alot!! I use Promist to shoot close ups beauty shots of girls faces on pop videos
  3. Tokina RMC 28-85mm f4 is a low contrast constant apperture manual zoom very good for that 70s movie look Flares nicely and does not have that 'crushed black' look of newer zooms think French Connection meets Bullett etc
  4. nice in depth GH4 review here - http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/panasonic-gh4/panasonic-gh4A.HTM
  5. the Angenieux 28-70 f2.6 is a legendary lens with great look and is very very collectable $$$$$$ ££££££ Tokina did make a version of this lens using the Angenieux plans and design - it is alos very rare and collectable Tokina AT-X PRO AF 28-70mm 1:2.6-2.8 Ø 77 JAPAN (Pro I with screw on hood) This is the original Pro version which is also the most sought after version by those new D700 owners in the know since its the version that's based on the Angenieux optical formula. Recognized easily by the ugly and short screw-on hood. Multi-coating was applied to a large number of lens surfaces to help improve contrast while at the same time reducing reflections and ghosting. There is also some suggestion that this version had one HLD (High Refraction Low Dispersion) glass element, though this is not certain. 28-70 for me is better range if you want a killer stunning lens the Carl Zeiss 24-85mm in N mount is absolutely stunning razor sharp with micro levels of detail
  6. it is a very good and very sharp lens , superb on video ,it is quite collectable and therefore can get expensive also try the Carl Zeiss 28-70mm in C/Y mount - its cheaper and just as good - I use mine alot micro levels of detail on this lens - aspheric elements also the Nikon 28-70mm f2.8 is the Bourne lens as used on Bourne Ultimatum for all the crazy sudden crash zooms on Matt Damon very sharp usually goes for about £600 on ebay
  7. G6 has superb full control of the camera via wifi on and iphone ipad or android tab/phone full focus control - yes you can pull focus on this! full stop start record full x10 zoom in focus assist on your ipad , just tap the screen and it zooms in x10 to focus! full contol of all camera menus and functions via wifi it is superb facility so you do not need HDMI out as my oled sony experia z makes a superb monitor!!
  8. you can use all manual focus manual apperture lenses on a GH2 with an adaptor - no issues they work fine BUT if you want to use a Canon EF lens with electronic control of the apperture it will NOT work on a GH2 there is no way to electroniclly open and close the apperture - it will focus manually all ok So you can use a Canon camera stop down the canon lens to say f5.6 take the lens off the canon camera while it is turned on then the apperture will remain at f5.6 on your canon lens. Then using a EF- Micro 4/3 adaptor yiu can put this lens on your GH2 it works but I never do it as its too time consuming - so Build up a set of lenses that will work just on your GH2
  9. Panasonic g6 - superb camera I now have 2!! its that good fast 40mm prime = Konica 40mm f1.8 $40 on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/KONICA-HEXANON-AR-40MM-F1-8-MANUAL-FOCUS-PRIME-PANCAKE-LENS-/111274690092?pt=UK_Photography_VintagePhotography_VintagePhotoAccessories&hash=item19e87d062c also try these primes very cinematic great bokeh Minolta 45mm f2 Yashica ML 28mm f2.8 Yashica ML 24mm f2.8 Yashica ML 50mm f1.7 these Yashicas are widely regarded as Carl Zeiss Distagon Equivilants made in same factory in Japan as the Contax Zeiss lenses Fujinon 35mm f1.7 c mount Fujinon 24mm f1.4 c mount = 1inch dof at f1.4 superb zooms Carl Zeiss Vario Sonnar 28-70mm C/Y Mount - micro levels of detail from amazing Zeiss glass - razor sharp lens aspheric elements Canon FD 24-35mm L Series - aspheric elements G6 is a very cinematic camera - you just have to know your lenses and pick the right ones - bokeh is not an issue!!
  10. yes Andrew this is the dawn of a consumer 4k revolution with Panasonic first out the blocks , I like this new camera as Im a Panasonic shooter and all my glass collection is usable on it. Im sure this is their first version of a 4k camera and over the next few years the spec will just get better and better lets see what the others can come up with ! Canon, Olympus, Nikon etc
  11. no ....send it back if its not working , my first G6 had a dead pixel on the sensor - so it went straight back
  12. thats just not true Mark All serious productions use off board recorders , they are here to stay and even more so now are are looking at bigger 4k files on these smaller consumer cameras
  13. what ? its not real ? I thought it was a documentry? I was going to start a fund for their families ! its so sad they died.
  14. no .....all shot in camera ....looks like real blood!! ......honest
  15. Aaron so whats the low down on the chinese EF- M4/3 speedbooster ?? is it good , how sharp is it has it got soft corners as I am tempted to buy one so I can use my canon glass on my G6's thanks Andy
  16. G6 focus peaking is good, I leave it on all the time, it does work very well with sharp lenses - especially those with aspheric elements Zeiss, Canon L series , Panny lenses etc can be not as good with older soft legacy lenses - its a bit hit n miss depending on the lens
  17. I agree the G6 went off the radar on this forum as it came out while ML 5D iii RAW was all the rage it is a superb camera and now very affordable on ebay - £250 !!! the remote wifi control via an iphone of focus and record on / off is worth that alone - no hdmi needed
  18. get your gh2 to look like a canon by pushing the saturation and contrast in post, its easy to do. Canons have a more saturated look to the gh2 do some tests on which picture profiles you like on the gh2 and try in post to match your canon
  19. try Canon FD 24-35mm f3.5 constant apperture - aspheric elemsnts Canon FD 35-105mm f3.5 superb go to zooms both are super sharp
  20. well Paul Greengrass, Kathryn Bigelow and Barry Ackroyd certainly like zooms! Bourne 2 and 3 , Green Zone , Hurt Locker and Zero Dark Thirty are practically ALL shot on zooms , I love zooms!!
  21. andy lee

  22. give us a clue? what job are you using it for??
  23. 40 !! thats insane ......Im gonna start making camera Ice packs (Red users will already have one !!)
  24. I just got back from 10 days shooting in Los Angeles - all done stealing shots using 2 Panasonic g6s on small custom made shoulder rigs I made up - and amazingly nobody said anything to us, we had a crew of 4 and blended in as tourists!! The G6 is small enough not to attact attention at all..... and we had superb weather too 28 degrees C , its bloody freezing back here in the UK now.
