  1. its is a very very sharp little lens - I got mine very cheap on the front of a panasonic gf2 camera that went cheap on ebay sold all in with lens have a look at gf1s , gf2s and gf3s as they are sold on ebay with the lens for sometimes under $100 !!! - and you get a free camera with it too!! haha!
  2. yes the back of the lens not the adaptor , I took an e cigarette and removed the plastic end that the vapor goes through , its a plastic disc with a 2mm hole in it , this is my f11 I went to the hardware shop and found some tiny plastic washers these are my f5.6
  3. I have 2 sizes of small plastic washers I blu tack onto the rear of the lens to stop it down to approx f5.6 and f11 yes it does sharped up the lens alot - I also have ND4s to add on the front for outside work. this process works for any of the Pentax 110 series lenses ,
  4. if you want a good cheap 'standard lens' on a g6 or BMPCC the Sigma 24mm f2.8 is a sharp great cheap lens with a very filmic look to it http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/sigma-super-wide-II-24mm-f2-8-multi-coated-macro-lens-for-pentax-k-mount-/251402813770?pt=UK_Lenses_Filters_Lenses&hash=item3a88c6814a http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sigma-24mm-f2-8-super-wide-II-lens-Canon-FD-fitting-manual-focus-exc-/330807976039?pt=UK_Photography_VintagePhotography_VintagePhotoAccessories&hash=item4d05b12067
  5. yes I have this lens sat infront of me now! its a useful lens to have not as sharp as the 18mm but constant aperture (but does get a tiny bit brighter when on wide 20mm ) and it is a push pull zoom - not a rotating barrel zoom very small and light - gives a retro fell to you images - not panny kit lens super sharp and clean
  6. there is a nifty fifty bargin - pentax 110 system 50mm f2.8 - great small tiny lens and very sharp $20 on ebay just get a pentax 110 to micro 4/3 adaptor

  9. my point is that today the new Mac Pro has gone on sale and its not cheap for a full spec machine !!! and I see you are not using a Mac so its not relevant to you then...
  10. 4K you will all most likely need a new computer for that .. New Mac Pro has just gone on sale for shipping in January - Price of a fully loaded Mac Pro is USD $9,599 (+tax), that's 12 core/64GB RAM/1TB flash/6GB Graphics card. Monitors (Sharp 4K 32 inch are additional $3,595 (+tax) each and you're going to want a couple of those . . . . so you're looking at around $18,000 for a fully loaded Mac Pro with two 4K monitors . . . . . ouch!!!
  11. Panasonic 14mm f2.4 is very very sharp great lens
  12. Panasonic have added on creative filters off their pocket snappy cameras onto the G6 - you dont really need it so shoot on a setting like Natural - I use this all the time dial down saturation to -3 and contrast to -3 this produces a nice image to work with
  13. f0.95 on any lens is just not really practically usable , its so soft with massive fringing , its ok for arty stuff but its limited plus less than 1 inch depth of field is limiting , so limiting Stanley Kubrick had to keep is actors from moving when he shot Barry Lyndon on that fast f0.7 Zeiss lens for his candle light scene at the table, they litterally could not move an inch back or forward or they would go out of focus. I rarely go past f1.4 for this reason they all look like nice lenses with huge chunks of glass ..but I dont really have any use for them - yet!! haha!
  14. g6 has a better sensor than the gh3 , gh3 does have more moire issues , I dont like it , its common knowledge on this forum we have discussed the gh3 moire to death so have a read of those posts g6 is a supeb camera - arguably the best non raw camera out there right now - just buy one!! you wont be disapointed yes it will shoot like that youtube video of the gh3 you posted - but with less moire and less noise in the black areas
  15. Ive never had any noticable moire issues on my g6 you should do your test again now IResolution is off you will notice the difference now the g6 out performs the canon hands down
  16. for me the ONE great thing of 2013 was ............the Pansonic G6 - suprise suprise !! I do like this camera it packs a huge punch in a very small light weight body with alot of features the gh2 never had.... .........roll on Pansonic 4k camera next year
  17. edit avchd in adobe premier I shoot on Natural profile with contrast at -3, saturation -3 , avchd 24p I try keep between 160-400 iso dont use AWB - ever dial in the color temperature by hand it lets you shoot 2500k right upto 10,000k (its labeled k on the wb menu last one on the list WB K set) I dial this in to fit the look im after , at night on city streets try 2500k and add in more green /blue on that setting it looks superb use the adjust menu to alter the amount of r b g y you want to add to make it warm or cool out side I use 6400k with nd filters a very good cheap cinematic lens for the g6 is the pentax 25mm f1.4 c-mount cctv lens - have a look on ebay - nice bokeh and very sharp
  18. that explains why your images are not sharp!! do not use auto focus to shoot video on Canons ever!! I have shot alot of pop videos for MTV using canon cameras and ALL the focus is done Manually start again and try this use the x10 zoom function so you can see to focus on the rear screen I always use the screen on a Canon to focus try this!!
  19. firstly are you focusing manually?? or trying to use auto focus?? - dont ever use auto focus! its rubbish on Canons always focus manually - this makes things instantly sharper.....
  20. The Schneider takes a 35mm lens I'm using a Zeiss Flektogon , no bendy flare,.. its not that much of an issue - Im just pointing it out to see whats causing it just Im not too keen on droopy flares it looks a bit odd. you have shot a very nice video it looks cool
  21. Im not mad on the way the flares bend and are not straight , is that the taking lens or the SLR magic? just wondering My Schnider produces straight flares
  22. Im getting a lot longer time on the G6 than my GH2 battery I shot that whole pop video posted above on 1 battery and that was a 8 hrs shoot I do turn off the camera when its not being used I was quite amazed ...... if that was my hacked gh2 I would have been on 3 batteries that day!!
  23. Skiphunt this was completely shot on the Panasonic G6 with Zeiss Vario Sonnar, Canon FD L series lenses, Zeiss Primes and some fx shots with a custom modified Canon C mount zoom and Pentax 25mm c mount cctv lens some shots where at 50 frames a second all shot and lit in color (natural profile) then de sated in post
  24. Skin tones depend on how you light them - Ive spent 15 years shooting girls in pop videos and its all about the lighting getting good skin tonesand the diffusion too , I do use alot of 85 (orange) with Lee diffusion on my lights this makes the skin warm , then dial in your colour balance manually until you hit a colour temperature with a colour you like - its very simple really ! I dont just shoot on AWB ever!! or preset daylight ot tungsten , dial it in on each shot and you will get nice skin tones!! thats why its called colour temperature and on skin tones its very important
  25. g6 can transmit live via wifi to your mobile or tab - Panasonic have an ap for that, makes the lack of hdmi out less of an issue
