Go Pro are the leaders for sure I like the new Canon as it does 24p 1080 which is useful for me and the flip up screen is a plus

Canon have just relesed a new camera aimed at the same market as GoPro its is very good , we where discussing this as a trade show last week (BVE North) - I might start using this as a crash cam to use on cars http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/standard_display/minicam interesting it does do 24p 1080 the go pro only does 30p 1080 and 15mm or 32mm lens - 32mm is useful as its not fisheye bendy lens that all skateboard videos use No, this isn’t the 75MP beast of a camera that you’ve all been waiting for, but it is surely still something quite cool. Canon is announcing a brand new VIXIA camcorder that they’re coining the Mini Compact Personal Camcorder. It is being aimed at bloggers and because of that, there is built in WiFi. The camcorder sports an 15mm f2.8 fisheye lens and features a closeup mode that gets your subject closer to you by using a smaller area of the sensor. The camcorder has a 2.7 inch capacitive touch screen along with a 12.8MP CMOS sensor, takes Micro SD cards, and the company is also seriously pimping its microphones for audio recording. It shoots 1080p video at 24p or 30p, but you can also shoot at 720p at a lower file size. The camcorder will retain for $299.99 in September. More images and tech specs are after the jump. Tech Specs F2.8 fisheye lens 15mm field of view comes to a 32.1mm Close up mode 2.7 inch touch screen capacitive tilt and rotate 230K dot LCD 12.8MP CMOS sensor Micro SD card Built in Microphone 256KB/s recording Built in wifi Live steaming ability via your phone Built in stand Fast motion 2x or 4x speed Bit rate 24MB 1080p 24p or 30p At 4MB/s it can drop down to 720p video 1/2.3″ sensor Interval recording for time lapse shooting 1 minute or 10 minutes 6 hours at one minute 160 grams or 5.6 oz empty 3inch by 1inch by 3.1 inches $299.99 available in september MPEG-4 White and black

Rochester NY home of the old Bausch and Lomb lens factory!! hope thats a good omen haha!!

brentil dont return your camera there is nothing wrong with it , just go through the menu and set the camera up first , the g6 in avchd mode is superior to any hacked gh2 , I have both cameras and the g6 is producing better images than my hacked 150mbs gh2

precisely the point I was making , you are not going to make an TVC for Ford using a 5D with RAW industry standard cameras are the Alexa and Epic as they are proven and work
-
sheep like , less of a risk as it is known to work
-
agencies are like sheep , they just want you to use Epic or Alexa - most stuff on tv and 90% of adverts is done on those 2 cameras now with the Alexa running away with alot of work I was trying the new Arri Amira last week at a trade show it is a stunning little camera all the best bits of the Alexa in a smaller package and records to CF cards AMIRA records Rec 709 or Log C images using ProRes LT, 422, 422HQ or 444 codecs 14 stops of DF http://www.arri.com/news/arri-amira-unveiled/ same sensor as the Alexa and 200 fps at 2k !! ps was also looking at the new Phanton FLEX 4K camera on their stand an incredable 1000fps at 4k - yes 1000fps - the footage from it is stunning!! http://www.abelcine.com/store/Phantom-Flex4K-Camera/

FD lenses on my G6 are great best one is the Canon FD 24-35mm L series f3.5 it is a very very sharp lens aspheric elements and is very cinematic 50mm f1.8 , 24mm f2.8 , 35mm f2.8 are all great lenses The 35-105 f3.5 zoom is very usefull as is the 28-85mm f4 zoom
-
haha yeah maybe one day Ill try and learn what all those buttons do - doh!
-
midloch it looks superb very filmic , the G6 is a very filmic looking camera , its AVCHD files are great and very very detailed , better than my hacked GH2 you can make any camera look like video if you stick it on deep focus with a wide lens its all about how you use the camera its not the AVCHD files as they are great

Looking for some second opinions on investing in a set of lenses
andy lee replied to RupertPupkin's topic in Cameras
I would consider the metabones Contax /Yashica to micro 4/3 speed booster as you can use it with the superb Yashica ML primes plus the Carl Zeiss Vario Sonnar zooms in C/Y Mount Im using ths Yashica primes and Zeiss zooms as a 'set' as they have a similar looks are both as sharp as each other (all these lenses are made in the same factory in Japan) Canon FD to micro 4/3 speedbooster is useful too for the FD L series zooms -
