is this wide enough and sharp enough for you?? haha! http://www.eoshd.com/comments/gallery/image/493-olympus-x08-wide-adaptor-isco-anamorphic-lens-fuji-55mm-taking-lens-nd4-filter/
-
it will work on any Anamorphic lens - find a wide angle adapter that is bigger than the front of your anamorphic lens its that simple - you dont need diopters at all
-
Century make quite a few very high quailty x0.8 and x0.7 adapters thay all have great glass as Century are made by Schneider in Germany you need to find one that has a slightly bigger rear end to your anamorphics front end so measure your anamorphic front diameter Also Olympus x0.8 is very very sharp and cheaper I use the olympus alot too both have a plus effect in that they SHARPEN UP your image !! 82mm century http://www.ebay.co.u...=item4ac2ff5049 x0.7 - (I have this one) http://www.ebay.co.u...=item2c6e619d66 x0.8 http://www.ebay.co.u...=item257ceca65b olympus x0.8 - I use this one too http://www.ebay.co.u...=item2ec7a0e28c I always use these on my Tecnoir 15mm rod rig to hold it all those adapters are big and heavy!

yes it works Ive been doing this for many years with my Anamorphics - I posted about this last year on this forum Century Optics and Olympus x0.7 are the ones I use

BIG NEWS - Hands on with CONTINUOUS raw recording on Canon 5D Mark III
andy lee replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
having downloaded some of the 5D raw files that have been posted this past 2 days from various people I think the images look good very detailed , fine grain structure , good low light and blacks BUT dropped frames and some wierd artifacts at random points plus this 49 sec record limit for me means it still has alot of testing and tweeking to do before we can use it for commercial jobs at all. There is also a lot of 'confirmation bias' going on here as people are willing it to be the next best thing since sliced bread..... be patient and use your eyes ....and not looking at vimeo or youtube as its compressed to hell on those channels - download the files to see properly. -

make sure you buy genuine cokin filters if you buy them on ebay - real ones have Cokin screen printed in white on the front bottom right hand corner this is a genuine cokin:- http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Cokin-P-Series-Neutral-Density-ND4X-P153-Grey-Filter-BRAND-NEW-/190835593990?pt=UK_CamerasPhoto_CameraAccessories_CameraLensesFilters_JN&hash=item2c6eb01306 but you can buy a generic holder and lens rings these work fine and are cheaper off ebay just dont use the filters that come with it they make your image soft!! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/9size-Metal-Adapter-Ring-6-Cokin-P-Series-Filter-Set-ND2-ND4-ND8-G-ND2-4-8-kit-/130858456705?pt=UK_CamerasPhoto_CameraAccessories_CameraLensesFilters_JN&hash=item1e77c59681 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/9size-Metal-Adapter-Ring-6-Cokin-P-Series-Filter-Set-ND2-ND4-ND8-G-ND2-4-8-kit-/281045004760?pt=UK_CamerasPhoto_CameraAccessories_CameraLensesFilters_JN&hash=item416f9671d8 I have spent alot of time testing nearly every ND filter made to find the best that work well on Pansonics and Canons and Cokins for me work best and they are cheap - as NDs are a disposable items - they do get scratched , dropped and broken on jobs alot!! These Jacobs NDs are made by Cokin and provide the same glass as the Cokin P system - BUT they are screw on normal filter I use these alot too they are great - and cheap too - I cannot stress how good these are http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Jacobs-ND4-Super-slim-Neutral-Density-filter-77mm-for-nikon-canon-sony-NEW-PRO-/110954849600?pt=UK_CamerasPhoto_CameraAccessories_CameraLensesFilters_JN&hash=item19d56ca540 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Jacobs-ND4-Super-slim-Neutral-Density-filter-72mm-for-nikon-canon-sony-NEW-PRO-/110954838820?pt=UK_CamerasPhoto_CameraAccessories_CameraLensesFilters_JN&hash=item19d56c7b24 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Jacobs-ND4-Super-Slim-Neutral-Density-Filter-55mm-for-Nikon-Canon-Sony-Panasonic-/110959490683?pt=UK_CamerasPhoto_CameraAccessories_CameraLensesFilters_JN&hash=item19d5b3767b

I dont ever use variable NDs for shooting video as they produce wierd artifacts and colors depending on the angle of the light hitting them they dont use vari NDs to shoot Hollywood Movies for this reason , they use a Matte Box and individual ND's I always use individual NDs like ND2 ND4 ND2 Cokin make the best for the money http://www.cokin.co.uk/pages/cokinP.htm Get a Cokin P series system then it will work on all your lenses

Commander Chris Hadfield onboard The International Space Station has posted this amazing pop video he has shot a revised version of David Bowie's Space Oddity, Stunning shots from space - is this the most expensive pop video ever made to date??? the cost of building the station and flights to it means it must be!! Some nice post production anamorphic flares added to it https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=KaOC9danxNo

the only cameras I know that change the iso automatically while recording are the consumer style Panasonic GF3 type cameras etc they use the ISO to brighten or darken the image as you move the camera around....not good! it's very annoying

well this thread is now redundant due to the new Magic Lantern hack for the 5D MKIII RAW on a full frame sensor - at last it is no longer crippled by the H264 codec!! -
Julian while you have the camera can you look on the bottom and see if the 1/4 20 tripod mount screw thread is dead centre to the lens centreline of off set 2mm like the GH2 is
-
good glass costs money to make $$$ so some lens manufacturers use cheaper glass to keep costs down plus the lens internal element design makes a huge diffenace Tessar , Planar , Sonnar etc etc you get what you pay for with lenses
-
wow Julian that power window lift on the screen grabs really shows the mosquito noise in the dark areas on the roof of the GH2 The G6 looks good in the same areas I think you are right G6 eats GH2 in dark and low light areas, it is a big improvement I want one!! lets hope Mr Driftwood and Vitally hack the G6!
-
ebay is the best place also you want to buy constant apperture - parfocal zoom lenses for video That Vivitar is cheap but its a push pull zoom and it stops down as you zoom in - so it goes darker ! - not good! Canon FD 35-105mm zoom is razor sharp parfocal and constant apperture f3.5 Canon FD 24-35mm zoom L series f3.5 - insanely sharp! with those 2 lenses you can shoot almost very thing!

'Sharpens up nicely.' nobody in the real world sharpens up ther footage after they shoot it! .......its a photoshop trick I have never in over 20 years sat in an edit suite saying - 'this will sharpen up nicely' and I dont know ANYONE of my colleagues who does it on commercial professional jobs!! Your Camera should produce a great image straight out the box. I don't have the time or inclination to sit there in an edit suite sharpening up every take in post because the Camera is producing a soft image You don't do that with Red, Arri Alexa or GH2 GH2 does not need 'sharpening up' it works straight out the box. Canon have a soft codec regardless of how good their sensors are. -
I LOVE all 4 Indy films great entertainment!! Lucas and Speilberg at their best together!!
