  2. vingettes on a gh2 + needed machining at bottom to get focus correct
  3. a very interesting review Andrew ta   Cant wait till Panasonic make a 4k camera ....soooooooon! 2014 they said at NAB!!
  4. The BlackMagic works great on the Tecnoir Rig we built for it I used it rigged all the time no problems - shoulder mounted with Cineroid retina evf was amazing !   http://www.eoshd.com/comments/gallery/image/180-tecnoir-blackmagic-anamorphic-cinema-rig-lores/
  5. sounds good! go for it - great lens very useful   I shoot Canon too so I use it on both Cameras
  6. yes 'video quality does depend on the downsizing algorithms (pixel binning methods)' as you put it .....and the gh2 is very good at doing that downsizing - lets hope the G6 retains that detail or even improves it ! G6 has the Venus engine so fingers crossed////
  7. I use the Sigma 30mm alot its one of my favoutite lenses sharp and fast I do recomend it also very good on a Canon   dont forget the Carl Zeiss 35mm f2.4 flektogon a superb lens and lot cheaper
  8. I have them in a flight case (foam cut out to the correct shape to support the whole setup) all correctly ligned up before I go to the job. Then I can just slide the whole setup onto my 15mm rods and Im ready to go.
  9. why does everyone need peaking? - just focus it with your eyes - people have been doing that for over 100 years on film !! it works!!   Technology is making people lazy!
  10. I'm with Andrew on this - too many people are trying to compare cameras - lenses etc off clips on youtube and vimeo You cant !!!  there just is not enough detail there The only way to test gear is in your own hands doing A/Bs against stuff you know. A hacked GH2 file is incredably detailed - you just cannot see any of that on YT or Vimeo.   Anyhow the bottom line is the G6 is just another tool to get the job done and its got a sensor I like alot!
  11. if you are coming from a GF2 it is no way near as good an image as a hacked GH2 - I just hacked a GF3 to 100mb/s with a Driftwood hack as a crash camera to use on car rigs and the image is only 85% as good as GH2 its soft and not as much detail.
  12. GH2 hacked is the best non raw camera on the market - the level of detail that sensor creates is stunning Mine are kicking out 170mb/s and I cannot stress how good the image is so yes the GH2 sensor does indeed have a magic it is in a differnt league to the GF and G series cameras now we have a G6 with this sensor too....
  13. this camera keeps the legacy of the gh2 moving forward for a few more years Im very pleased this G6 has been released - Panasonic are listening that we all say the gh2 sensor has some special magic about it!
  14. gh3 kicks out 70mb/s so I dont think anyone has hacked it yet - ???? check on personalview.com and see if they have or are thinking of hacking it
  15. you are watchin on youtube - mega compressed so beware...- lets not write it off before we have all downloaded files direct off the camera, If it has Venus engine inside then its hackable....its been done before by Vitaliy and Driftwood etc
  16. this is worth getting just for the 50/60p 1920x1080 so you can do slo mo at that resolution at last with the gh2 sensor and also just wait for the hack to happen Im sure it will if it a venus engine
  17. its has alot of character and low contrast a very nice Image
  18. Wollensak 1 Inch (25mm) f1.9 C-Mount Cine Raptar- yes will work on BMPC - also superb on gh2 (no vingetting) GREAT VINTAGE LENS
  19. Kubrick used front Projection for the Apes sequence where he smashes the skull   This new version looks very interesting - and expensive!! I like the way the light spills onto the actors which ties them into the enviroment and looks real.
  20. Front projection is an old trick its been used since the 40's it produces a sharper image than rear projection also used in FX shots alot.... ILM front projected onto Scotchlite on Matte Paintings in Jedi and in the Indy films matte paintings by Michael Pangrazio and Harrison Ellenshaw back in the days of optical printers like THE QUAD.   But on this scale it looks amazing! on set huge screens
  21. yeah 10 mins was the limit , I have lots of cans of short ends in my garage ! the 1 minute that never got used!!
  22. I'm done with Green screen this is the way forward! its looks so much better - all shot in camera and no post green replacement for months Mr Cruise seems to like it too!   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9DCkIuv82Q4&feature=player_embedded
  23. I shot on film for years since the early 90's and it required planning , care, storyboards , attention and money!! every time you rolled the camera. You only shot what you really needed . Now I shoot 10 times more footage on multiple cameras on every shoot there is alot more creative freedom. You can try all those mad ideas and see if they work !
  24. I'm selling 4 anamorphic lenses all with Tecnoir Anamorphic lens holders for 15mm rod systems so you can slide these easily on and off your rail system all fully aligned ! bingo! The Tecnoir holder locks the lens so its always correcly horizontally alligned - no more skewed anamorphic images!   all lenses have mint as new glass   Sankor Cinemascope x2 Anamorphic with Tecnoir Anamorphic lens holders for 15mm rod systems http://www.ebay.co.u...984.m1586.l2649   Sankor Cinemascope x2 Anamorphic with Tecnoir Anamorphic lens holders for 15mm rod systems http://www.ebay.co.u...984.m1586.l2649   Schneider Cinemascope x2 Anamorphic with Tecnoir Anamorphic lens holders for 15mm rod systems http://www.ebay.co.u...984.m1586.l2649   Schneider Cinemascope x2 Anamorphic with Tecnoir Anamorphic lens holders for 15mm rod systems http://www.ebay.co.u...984.m1586.l2649
