Sigma EX 10-20mm F/4.0-5.6 is worth looking at I used this on the BMCC camera and it works well at the 2.3 crop of that camera so at 3x it will work well too - it does have some distortion at the edges but it is a very useful zoom range great outside in daylight with nds you dont mind that its not a fast lens then with a canon to micro 4/3 adaptor you can just use it wide open
-
we already have a thread looking at lenses for this camera here have a read http://www.eoshd.com/comments/topic/2495-super-16-lenses-for-pocket-cinema/
-
what sizes are you looking for ?
-
look for Cokin as they work well with the GH2 all mine are Cokin or Jacob made by Cokin and Ive done lot of testing on this to find a brand that does not make the image soft at all on the GH2
-
yes I have a B4 to Micro 4/3 adaptor off ebay it fits very well and yes you can activate the servos - there is a guy in the USA on ebay who sells a cable that rigs up the servo to a IDX battery Ive worked with cinematographer Tony Coldwell in the past he's DOP'd pop vidoes for me on Super 16. I met up with him last November and we where talking about the Fujinons and how good they are he is also now using these Fujinon B4 lenses on the Alexa too they have a massive zoom range and are fast and sharp - thats all you need!! these lenses are made for HD Broadcast
-
good choise you will not be disappointed
-
5D is great I just shot 2 pop videos on it this month all shot with old glass Im also shooting next week on gh2 as it needs that detail they both work , I just prefer the gh2 myself
-
Fujinon B4 Eng lenses are very good They are fast and have very long par focal zooms I have a 6.5-92mm f1.4 and a 9-100mm f1.8 both have 2x extenders you can filp in and out You can shoot a whole film almost on one lens with these The HD versions are very very sharp
-
I dont like using converters with glass in them it all it all get very messey with some having infinity focus and some not - so I just dont bother - its not necessary on gh2 Thats why I have all these great set of lenses for my gh2 and a different set for my Canon You are missing the point ....Im trying to say to Luke you can buy great lenses for for the GH2 .....there is a whole range of them from different makers- all good brands - that MOST people dont use on their Canon EF cameras therefore they are cheaper ! simple
-
I just picked up one of these 3.5-8mm c mount zooms - very well made and very cheap! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Professional-CCTV-lens-3-5-8mm-varifocal-manual-iris-CS-/160426428637?pt=UK_CCTV&hash=item255a2908dd

gh2 is the best for me we just had this debale last week here http://www.eoshd.com/comments/topic/2469-best-camera-for-filmmaking/

these lenses have a 32mm rear thread try 42-32mm step ring screwed in to a M42 to m4/3 adapter - give it a go they are great little lenses with the KMZ classic look
-
Pentax 25mm f1.4 c mount cctv lens This is my fave c mount lens razor sharp (almost Canon L-series sharp -its insane !) and very fast superb outside at night and great for closeups of faces

FD flange focal distace is less (42.00 mm) than the EF flange focal distance (44.00 mm) so your adaptor will need a lens in it to refocus the image onto your EF camera sensor (I have one of these and I dont like it and it cost a fortune for a real Canon one) So I dont use FD lenses on my EF cameras for that reason it is introducing another lens into the equation degrading the image But yes you can if you really want to use them on your EF but most people dont bother for this reason but you cannot use any of the following on a Canon EF mount as they all have a smaller flange focal distance Minolta Bayonet , Fujinon B4 ENG , Konica Bayonet , Fujica X Bayonet , C mount , pentax 110 , Praktica /Pentacon Bayonet. the GH2 does offer a greater range of glass you can use due to its 19.25 mm flange focal distance the point being for Luke is that all these lenses are alot cheaper BECAUSE they dont fit Canon EF so you can buy them very cheap off ebay and have quite a big lens collection cheaply - you can't buy cheap Canon EF lenses they hold their price on ebay
-
yes all those on ebay are bankrupt stock going cheap so buy them up I bought a whole set one of every size off ebay they are great
-
These Jacobs NDs are made buy Cokin so superb quality they make most sizes from 46mm to 72mm I have tested them side by side , Ive been using these for the past year on jobs they are great they are slimmer than most nds so ideal for use with anamorphic taking lenses http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Jacobs-ND4-Super-slim-Neutral-Density-filter-72mm-for-Sigma-Leica-Zeiss-NEW-PRO-/110964643698?pt=UK_CamerasPhoto_CameraAccessories_CameraLensesFilters_JN&hash=item19d6021772

Carl Zeiss Anamorphic works well with 200mm full frame no vingetting same Schott Glass in all Zeiss lenses - very sharp and great contrast and blacks I use it on my Tecnoir rig the lens holder slides on the 15mm roads and supports the Zeiss anamorphic http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/230958899586?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1586.l2649

I have a set of these they are great Russian lenses made by KMZ who make the Helios TAIR-41 VEGA-7-1 MIR-11 From KIEV-16U camera Vega-7-1: focal length: 20mm relative aperture: F/2 field of vision angle: 35 Mir-11M: focal length: 12,5mm relative aperture: F/2 field of vision angle: 54 Tair-41M: focal length: 50mm relative aperture: F/2 field of vision angle: 15 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LOT-Of-THREE-Lenses-TAIR-41-VEGA-7-1-MIR-11-From-KIEV-16U-Movie-Camera-/111035368973?pt=Camera_Lenses&hash=item19da39460d

I always put the ND on the taking lens not on the front of the anamorphic as it does kill flare - which I want!
-
there is so much marketing PR flying around right now especially this week at NAB Go with something tried and tested and available now you are in a forum full of hacked gh2 users......we all do this for a reason .... the gh2 produces very good looking images - thats the bottom line
-
I just prefer the look of the GH2 compared to the GH3 from all the tests Ive done with both cameras I works for me!
-
search through this forum there are threads on this The hacked gh2 is better then the gh3 Im running Driftwood Quantum 9B Updated hack its stable plays back in camera , no lockups at all and is kicking out 170mb/s gh3 is 70 mb/s max.... I shot both cameras side by side and GH2 looks alot better Gh3 has different sensor and lot more moire I dont like it at all the GH2 sensor is amazing they messed it up by switching to a new sensor in the gh3 it lost 'the look'
-
yes it will key just fine! I shoot Green Screen alot
-
no!! who told you that!! you can put more lenses on a GH2 than you can on a Canon EOS . All the old Canon FD lenses , Minolta Bayonet , Fujinon B4 ENG , Konica Bayonet , Fujica X Bayonet , C mount , pentax 110 , Pentacon Bayonet...etc etc etc all these formats work on GH2 but NOT Canon EOS GH2 on my Tecnoir Cinema Rig - this works!! http://www.eoshd.com/comments/gallery/image/239-tecnoir-cinema-rig-panasonic-gh2/ already did that shoot out 18 months ago GH2 wins hands down! 5DII , 550d (SAME APSC sensor as 60d ) and Gh2 you will be very suprised your Canon looks like soft video next to a hacked GH2 the differance is staggering ! GH2 renders incredable detail we have 3 they are that good!!
