1. Red have a very impressive list of Films shot on their Cameras http://www.red.com/shot-on-red/cinema
2. Red are very good at creating an aura around their products that has ultimately great marketing behind it - like Apple they make new products an event Red have alot of diehard users like Apple ...   Dragon looks like a big step forward for Red - Expect alot of US Movies to be made with it soon! Hollywood likes using Red Cameras .
3. I like the way he says you are not allowed to compare it to 35mm film from now on ........Sowing the seeds and setting the tone ......
4. Nick Driftwood and Vitaliy are they guys to ask about that ! http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/5344/official-panasonic-gh3-topic-series-3
5. A Hacked Panasonic GH2 is still King it produces stunning images for the money !!   there is a thread very similar to this here have a read http://www.eoshd.com/comments/topic/1655-help-in-choosing-the-right-camera/#entry22942
6. I was told at at trade show 2 weeks ago not to expect the Mircro 4/3 version until early next year.
7. Blanche   have a look at this thread here on zoom lenses http://www.eoshd.com/comments/topic/1656-solid-zoom-lens/#entry22929
8. I wouldnt use AF for any video you shoot All manual settings for video ... you dont want the camera doing anything for you especially focus as it will hunt in and out - even the new system on the GH3 can get confused.   A good fast prime like the Voightlander f0.95 and a good zoom will be a good set for you   A good cheap sharp prime is the Sigma FD mount 24mm f2.8 - I like this lens on the Panasonic it is sharp and will focus down to 8cm !! very close and it has a nice creamy Bokeh very cinematic I got mine off ebay very cheap !!
9. Voightlander is a fast prime lens not a zoom .   The Canon is a very versitile zoom and has aspheric elements making it very very sharp and great for shooting people and landscapes. that 24-35mm zoom is very useful to have when you are framing people for interviews
10. Canon FD mount  L series 24-35mm f3.5 is a great lens Very very sharp and a good range on a GH3 (FULL FRAME EQUIVILANT 48-75MM)
11. I found  QuickHitRecord's ISO test very useful all GH2 shooters shot have a good read of it it has alot on interesting implications on how you shoot
12. I think we all would like to see a indie feature film shot on a BMCC soon! Im sure it will happen in the next 18 months
13. a hacked GH2 produces stunning images and if you run a 150mb/s hack like Nick Driftwoods Quantum 9b etc etc you are shooting video at 1gb per minuite which gives files with alot of infomation in them for grading A large latitude to work with
14. I noticed on ebay Vid Atlantic are now making a more simple flare filter that is litterally just a piece of fishing line in a filter ring...   seriously you can make this at home folks! it does just  produce a blue streak across the frame like an anamorphic flare   (but no ovel bokeh etc etc )
15. wow  a VERY USEFUL APP! Nick Driftwood and a GH3 - I wonder how long it will take him to hack it next!! I cant wait! as Im using all Driftwood Hacks on our Gh2's
16. there are lot of people on this forum who have been in the business along time !
17. 5-7 hours battery length sounds good ! very useful interesting review Andrew
18. yes the canon fd 35-105 is a great lens get this Craig!
19.     SMC Pentax-M Zoom 75-150mm F4  great lens well in your budget and very very sharp! and great Bokeh I use this for shooting head shots with a great narrow dof and background bokeh constant f stop when zooming   http://www.ebay.com/itm/SMC-Pentax-M-Zoom-75-150mm-F4-/180922903792?pt=Camera_Lenses&hash=item2a1fd86cf0
20. Craig SIGMA UC ZOOM 28-70mmthis is also a very very good sharp lens and in your budget I have used this lens alot to shoot with recently http://www.ebay.com/itm/SIGMA-UC-ZOOM-28-70mm-1-3-5-4-5-CANON-FD-MOUNT-EXCELLENT-CONDITION-2866-/230879810368?pt=Camera_Lenses&hash=item35c1825340
21. (4:3) mode shot with a x1.5 anamorphic lens gives a 1920 x 720 resolution image so we get a 2.66:
22. Craig this is a stunning lens very sharp one I use alot     http://www.ebay.com/itm/USED-MINOLTA-24-35MM-F3-5-ZOOM-MD-LENS-/271113788303?pt=Camera_Lenses&hash=item3f1fa41b8f
23. Canon FD lenses are very good ! and cheap as they do not fit Canon EF cameras like the 5D 550 etc so they are very very good value for a GH2 micro 4/3 camera and very sharp!!   Canon FD Lenses are used by Hollywood films especially for their crash cameras ie Eyemos
24. Vivitar Series 1  24-48mm  is good
25. Craig I use the Canon FD 35-105 F3.5 alot its a very good lens very sharp   also the Canon FD 24-35mm L series f3.5 is a KILLER LENS soooooo sharp !   also check out Minolta 24-35mm f3.5  its cheap and very very sharp - almost Canon L Series sharp !! Minolta 35-70mm f3.5 is very good   these are all constant f number while zooming in and out and parfocal so ideal for video on a GH2
