1. so the verdict is ......hang onto your GH2 then !! its a unique camera!!
2. The Carl Zeiss anamorphics are superb lenses I have 5 of them they are sharp and produce very nice royal blue flares they have a very cinematic look about them These lenses where designed to project Hollywood 35mm Blockbuster films are are so much better than any soft tiny home cinema Sankor / Proskor /Sun 16mm lens etc I use them on my Tecnoir Rig http://i42.photobuck...eiss-lens-1.jpg I only use 35mm projection lenses as Ive gone through all the 16mm home cinema lenses over the years you can get and they are all soft when you campare them with 35mm projection lenses...........I really dont like any of them . 35mm projection lenses produce much nicer sharper cinematic images. the best lenses you can get right now are the Schneiders these are simply stunning - Canon L Series sharpness !! 3. Im sure Magic lantern will have a look to see if it is hackable!
4. I think the GH2 has a unique 'look' that may now be lost forever now the GH3 has an 'alleged' Sony Sensor I think alot of people will be hanging onto their GH2's for the foreseable future.
5. Inoue: Ah global shutter is a very ideal shutter. GH3 is rolling shutter. The readout is just 100 miliseconds, this depends on the sensor structure and sensor power. interesting so each full scan on the sensor is 100ms on the GH3 I wonder what it was for the GH2 as it has bad rolling shutter also it seams like they ar not interested in making a full frame GH camera as they have spent so much money designing and building a range of lenses for mirco 4/3 format - these would not be useable on a full frame camera so they would have to design and build all new lenses $$$$$$$ a costly thing to do. So looks like Panasonic are comitted to mirco 4/3 for the time being
6. Andrew any sign of the banding we all get on gh2 if you shoot the sky ? is the new sensor better for this issue? and will the focus assist work via hdmi if we use an external monitor? Rolling shutter ? how is this looking! any better than the GH2 thanks Andy
7. X Bayonet Fuji is an odd choise for a mount?
8. http://edition.cnn.c...onic/index.html Panasonic closes 3 factories in China due to protests one factory is set on fire! this includes their camera factory Canon also shutting down factories http://www.petapixel.com/2012/09/17/japanese-camera-factories-may-be-at-risk-amidst-chinese-protests/

Sweet camera!
Just watched Genesis - its very very good!!
12. Carl Zeiss Biometar 80mm f2.8 is very sharp great lens Mine is Pentacon 6 mount Like Tony says the Lomo may not be that good a buy with an adaptor too $$$$$$$$ This Zeiss is very very sharp and 80mm is not that far off your Lomo 75mm. there are lots of Biometars on ebay
13. I really dont understand why people are bashing Philip Bloom! He's a great guy who is very informative. He has done more for the DSLR community than anyone else on the web.
14. Helios works great with alot of anamorphic lenses I use it alot as its flares very easily
15. They are both exactly the same 2x 35mm projection lenses. Ive owned 3 Hypergonars and about 20+ Bausch and Lombs over the years I prefer the Bausch and Lomb its a great lens and produces really nice Royal Blue flares.
16. that Hypergonar full of fungus - not usable this Bausch and Lomb is a much better lens the glass is almost mint as new http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/230849346495?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1586.l2649
17. just use a San Disc Extreme Pro 64gb 95mb/s card been through loads of cards this is the only one that works every time with no issues
18. you can buy this on ebay cheaper I have this adaptor it vingettes on long lenses be careful! you need to test each lens with it
19. Philip is a great Director . he shoots great pop videos too with complex lighting. Philip has done more than anyone else on the internet to get DSLR's into people's hands and get them starting to shoot good looking images. He is very open with his knowledge. his website is an open resource of infomation. His BMC review was very interesting and lets you see exactly what problems you may have with this camera on a commercial shoot. I shoot pop videos for a living so it was very interesting to see his review. My big concern is the rolling shutter issue as I move the camera around alot on shoots Philip ...what can you compare the rolling shutter to? is it as bad as the GH2? Andy Lee ps - I can't remember anyone else on this forum working for George Lucas..............enough said !!
20. no focus assist too! this is a major issue as you need this for every shot you do! no x10 zoom in and its a reflective shiny screen..... so you will need to get a external monitor with digital focus assist for this camera
21. Philip says it has 'Bad Rolling Shutter issues !' we have yet to see how bad these are I would like to see this camera being moved around quickly!
