There's still loads of aliasing which makes it gritty. I do use it as my main camera, but only ever in 1080p 25 and only ever with a Mosaic Engineering anti aliasing filter in it. I'm afraid the old EOS 720p is just quite poor by modern standards.

The pocket and 4K are the most unique so they get my vote. The other two are a bit "meh" now. TBH I'm considering cancelling too, I'm pretty high up the 4K queue, but there's no sample imagery, almost no-one who actually ordered even the first camera has it   I'm also not convinced I need that much future proofing.   After recently handling Epic footage 4K, the resolution was a headache. The raw was lovely, but the huge resolution makes everything sluggish. That makes the 5D a better option, oddly enough. Plus I love stills.

Yes they are what I'd expect with lots of wide angle detail and lines: a lot of aliasing! The 600D doesn't do too well for that kind of video. I'de recommed RX100 for that kind of thing. Lot's of detail and 1080p/50 or 60. Very good

I can't call it. It doesn't look the quality I'm used to... Are they this fuzzy before uploading to YouTube?   A separate tip: I personally set white balance manually using magic lantern for maximum accuracy. In raw you can do what you want in post, with this much compression, if you get too red especially, it'll be hard to fix.

In-camera 10-bit would do it I reckon for getting better resolutions... if they can pull it off. 14-bit is nice, but 10-bit would be fine.

I've never seen a benefit with Nikon SLR. The DR improvement is tiny, the pictures just seem a bit drab in comparison, and the number of megapixels they have now is a bit OTT I think...   The fact that the Canons do video too and can take ore lenses seals it for me...

  Yes it's important to note that a 2D curves adjustment isn't a replacement for a custom 3D LUT.   Compare the two in Alexa footage, and with the former you have no skintones! The LUT is lush.   Still, a lot of people find that look of uncorrected Alexa to be very hipster, and request it. Bananas, eh?

  That's a lovely film isn't it? I assume it's a kind of prototype two-strip process? That or hand coloured...   Personal gear wise, I've not bought another interchangeable lens camera since the 550D. I might swap it for the 600D.  I have a lot of lenses though...   I'm on the 4K BMD list but I'm thinking it might be an excessive expense, all told.   This year I've used C300, FS700, Alexa and Epic on projects that weren't my own though. Having used the whole lot I'm still not that unhappy with the old 550D :) it definitely makes you work to get it right on set.

Everything changes so fast now, and I'm starting to know so many people who own better kit than me, I think I may cancel my BMD preorder and just start borrowing gear again (aside from my lenses). It's getting hard to keep up...

Here it is. It's lighter than some SLRs because it's such hollow plastic. The batteries are like 8 inches long.   We have it so good nowadays...

Those vertical lines I've seen in three videos now with infinity focus skies.   It's not a screen artifact, it's currently some kind of bug in the RAW footage.

  Yes indeed, it's a bug of the new firmware  that a lot of people are finding annoying, apparently. Perhaps backdate the firmware.

Hmm I wonder, let's wait and see! I hope they did release it fully, that'd be a great piece of kit to hack...

Actually Bioshock Infinite is amazing, worth a play if you want a great plot development and twistyness... Anyway, yes this is gonna hit BMD pretty hard I think, especially as they're pretty slow at delivering cameras and I can get a 5D MKii now if I had the cash and inclination! The 4K cam is still ahead, but the original BMD is a bit lost now...

This is very beautiful!   Also, By making such tests we can discern how the ML guys can fix any issues.    So far I see small amounts of lateral shearing at places, that's about it!

A 20.3MP APS-C mirroless camera with a quad-core processor and open source software. I wonder what kind or rates it's capable of... great times...   I doubt they'd sell many ordinarily, but they've probably seen the boost given to Panasonic and Canon by hacks and figured "what the hell" ;)

The arguing does get tiresome, it's just another great option. Now anyone who wants to shoot can find a way to make it look good for cheap, excellent if they handle the hassle of bleeding-edge raw tech.   The last person who wanted consultation on equipment purchase, my advice to them after considering all factors (including turnaround time, staff training and expertise, portability and ease of use etc.) was to get a C100, which they took glady. The RAW hack for 5D iii could not be further from right for them.   For others, it's great. I'll try it at some point, but I don't own the camera, so not now. At the moment I'm planning out the next short, and I'll probably do it on a 600D, it's good enough. Or maybe on an Epic as some friends are buying one and it's great to use (if a bit big), but it's not a dealbreaker. I can use both, they both have pros and cons.   More options is only a good thing I think. This means in future I can shoot stuff on Epic, then get RAW footage with a lightweight rig off a 5Diii. I don't what can make people so angry about an amazing, completely free  feature. Ego wars are no fun at all, if I respected the people who made the most money or were the most pro, I'd respect bankers, or the people who made the hundreds of pap Hollywood films that get churned out each year. In fact, I'm not interested in either.   Creative freedom plus astonishing quality is, however a dream. I have to pinch myself to think that three years ago I had no way to shoot with a large sensor. It was too expensive. Now they're everywhere. Now I can get RAW as added bonus for free (I am a donater BTW)? You gotta be kidding me. I just can't bring myself to complain about that. I refuse to be that spoiled!!!
