If you can't take decent movies with the current camera's, the issue isn't with the camera...   In fact, Canon is lagging behind in picture quality. It's not just about megapixels. Would love this for the cheap lens adaptability. But now with magic lantern, it's hard to go back... The cameras look great though. A little bit disappointed with the EVF. True, the Olympus E-M1 evf is very nice, but rumours about super high res evf's have been around for a long time.   The crucial point, to make photographers switch from canikon, will be auto focus performance though. And I don't think it's likely they will preform better than a 5DIII/D800. For high-end travel/street/landscape this looks like the bomb. Fuji must be unhappy about this.   Oh, and pancake lenses please... The list below will probably be announced with the cameras, but no pancakes yet. Some super flat affordable primes would be awesome. Like the Canon 40mm 2.8, which is great for the money.   I agree, but a bit more samples/info would be nice.This is a new version, the flares have changed, right? I'm curious to see that, and probably not the only one. I've heard it works on 50mm fullframe. It would be nice to actually see that! SLR Magic made a fine sample video before. I think it would help if they had done the same for this new 'evaluation program'.   Anyway, best of luck to SLR Magic and the testers. I'm looking forward to the results.

Sounds good. Shame the early adapter kit is m43 only. I want to use it on fullframe, already have diopters and don't need the 35mm.   Is there any news on the flare? Or will the kit have the same characteristics as what we've seen so far?

It's a 3.5" 800x480 monitor. What camera are you planning to use it on? To me it doesn't seem like much of a step up from the standard 3" 640x480 displays in most camera's.

True... but they don't state the jpg quality levels under the still resolutions. Later, under shooting speed, they refer to the 3 star quality level for jpg.   Anyway, It would be kinda crazy if it does shoot raw video and Pentax doesn't make any mention of this on the main page in the PR texts... Even one of the headlines is 'Pro H264 video'.... If it shoots raw, that would be there.

Actually, looking at it again, I think the mentioned quality levels are related to the still shooting options. They are just placed a bit weird in the table...

The Pentax K-3 was featured on the Ricoh website. It's taken offline, but you can still find the page in Googles cache.   The spec sheet shows something very interesting:     The strange thing is that on the main page that outlines the headlines of the camera, there is no mention whatsoever on raw video:       So, I'd say there is a big chance that they made an error in the specifications list...   On the other hand. This would be a great move for Pentax to gain some market share. I know, raw shooting probably isn't a big market, but Pentax really doesn't sell a lot of camera's...   Also interesting is the 'selectable AA-filter'       We'll probably know the answer soon. Official announcement is expected tomorrow I think.   Rumoured price is $1300 for the body.   Also, it has a stabilized sensor. According to Imaging Resource, that works pretty well for video on the previous K-5:  

Yes. I'd buy one for €600/700... About a year ago I stopped bidding at $600 because I thought it was too much :rolleyes: Most I've seen since were much more expensive.. But I see there have been some done deals around the €700 mark on eBay, so I'll start watching again :)

Yes Rafael.   Here you can find a list of the register distance of all mounts: http://www.graphics.cornell.edu/~westin/misc/mounts-by-register.html   Everything that has a longer register distance than the mount of your choice can be used with a basic adapter.

I also vote for the Speed Booster and the BMCC MFT. If the BMCC Canon EF is the only option, then I think the cheapest/easiest option for ultra wide would be the Sigma 8-16mm. It's the widest non-fisheye available. Used in this video for example:

I think everybody (except for those with some form of color vision deficiency) can score perfect on this test, on shitty monitors too. It's just a few different shades. Put them roughly in the right order, look carefully and you'll see something is wrong if you look long enough. A shitty monitor is not gonna change that. Maybe it will if it shows only 16 colors.

Wow, this is pretty lame...   And misleading. The C300 doesn't have Dual Fast Pixel AF :P

Not possible. http://www.graphics.cornell.edu/~westin/misc/mounts-by-register.html   Praktica Bayonet has a 44.4mm register distance. Nikon F is 46.5mm. So you'd need an adapter that has a length of minus 2,1mm.   Maybe someone makes an adapter with a glass element that corrects this, but that would result in loss of image quality.

This won't go in the 'GH4' since it's a low megapixel sensor. Photographers aren't gonna be happy with 2K. Even the 4K sensor is 'only' 12 megapixels max.   Still, this stuff looks nice. Curious what it will end up in!

Ehh, did any of you look at the samples provided by levisdavis? The whole point is the moire in full sensor mode... and how a VAF can improve it.   Anyway, I downloaded 2 dng's and make a quick comparison. Without VAF (sharpness 0) and with VAF (sharpness 25):     Thanks for sharing, looking pretty good. I switched to a 5D II and I'm waiting for my VAF5D2b...
