Yesss... this is becoming a hot thread: Shall I sell my Iscorama... I don't want to loose all the pennies. This could cause the forum to overflow with even more "For Sale..." threads  :( I tried the LA 7200, the Optex and did not like them. Especially when it comes to motion picture (S8/16) they are useless. Of course you could achieve the silly/compromise-HD ratio but further more the degradation of the image is not acceptable. (The resolution of Super8 is up to 1120 lines and that is fine for HD-telecine). Isco developed their system for 35mm and adapted it for Super8. This was the best you can get and was influenced of the experiences with the Bolex Möller. And what most people forget: Anamorphics were never built to have character or flares or ovals! That was just a sidereffect. (OH MY GOD the latest STAR TREK IS TOTALLY INSANE ANNOYING!) Filmstock is a much better way to create a look and a lot of fun.  These SLR Magic and Letus people are just doing what the "Zacutos" around the world did before: They are creating products for DSLR-enthusiasts.... Exactly as Isco and Möller did it for the Super-8 enthusiasts some time ago There is one difference: Craftsmanship. SLR Magic and Letus have the computers but I doubt they have such a long tradition and knowledge like Möller and ISCO. It is the glass! And finally: Astonishingly there are still some plastic Iscos flying around... probably ten times as much as 54's?  How did they survive all these crazy Super-8 guys? Probably they were just too anxious to use them?

As far as I know they are not the same! Isco developed the early Iscoramas for 35mm stills cameras. Then they started to make anamorphics especially to the Super-8 marktet. They had cooperations with Bauer, Beaulieu, Schneider (Iscorama Cinegon) and also made the Iscorama 36 as a single attachment without lens. These Iscoramas "only" had a 1.5x stretch as they were never built for the pro market. 2x stretch is too much for the small Super-8 film.  Sorry... that was OT... I am pretty sure that there will in any case be a difference with the older Iscorama and a 36 as the 36 has a different coating.  Astonishingly I think you can mix an early nonMC 54 with an early Iscorama (I actually do that and think it is okay).   Again just my opinion and I don't own a 36 but that is what I heard from some other people. Hello Ithanlon, your pictured does not show the 36. It is the older version with 30mm rear (and a unique serial no.) and is not multicoated.

Bioskop: I am not sure if I understood you right...? My point is that this forum is already "clogged up" with loads of advertising stuff. And therefore I suggested an area where these people can post their stuff.  The only reason why I am interested in a marketplace is to clear things a little bit up. Nothing about prices, reliability, safety, protection...   However I agree with Häns and it also would give give me a better feeling to buy here something from somebody who is a regular member. It is just a feeling...   And as an international forum it is not very likely to happen often to meat people in person to purchase maybe an Iscorama 54 from Bristol if you are a potential customer from Hamburg - however that would be nice :)   In short lets just get rid of the mess and keep the possibility to advert something

there are too many threads here just about selling and searching lenses... I think there was a marketplace here once but without much traffic. Times seems to have changed. And now every second thread seems to be about selling and searching. That is a little bit too much maybe.... What do you think?

Enny has probably just forgotten the "8" ...the listings he is referring to are 8/19/1.5 Moellers (considering the prices). The fixed focus Moellers are very cheap and look totally different.

I think this is always a matter of taste! I sold my Contax Zeiss AEJ lenses (BTW I think the WestGerman Rollei Zeiss is sharper and color/contrast is better) I prefer Canon FDn (didn't try Nikon). How wide can you go on APS-C? DAMNED...!!!! I missed the 16/32...  :(   I love my Möllers 8/19 so much that there is an even bigger desire for the 16/32  ;)

Yes... good point  :D  But performance wise(!) the Nissan would have also easily beaten a 944 or a 911 from the 70's.

Helios + Sankor is very nice and sharp and does not vignette on m4/3 (in my experience) but that might be difficult if you're on APS-C (or full frame)!   BTW I do not agree on better quality lenses are always overpriced. There are many ridiculous listings but on the other hand good quality comes at higher prices. Nothing wrong with that. And there is a huge difference between a Bolex Möller and a Sankor (sharpness /at any aparture, handling/no diopter, focussing, weight, character).

It is interesting that this one has a full metal body. I never heard of that. In fact my Exakta-Isco has a lot of plastic parts (feels totally different compared to the full metal '54...) Maybe this one is really totally ultra-super-duper-rare? And therefore reasonably priced? 

Hi Paulio, From time to time I pair an Isco with the Pana 35-100 f2.8.  Not the best option but works quite nice (on GH3 without any vignetting). I like stabilizer as well. Astonishingly the image is also not that bad although this is a new lens...

Hi eris, you are right: Prices are often very high and sometimes ridiculous but on the other hand that offers chances. I started with a Sankor 16F which I also liked very much and meanwhile I had many different anamorphics.  I am often looking on ebay (like probably most of the guys here) and I was several times very lucky and could buy some nice glass after selling the ones I don't like for a good amount. Patience is the key and of course mostly luck. But honestly paying more than €1,000 for an ugly Pany... that is in my eyes ridiculous but the same amount for a Möller... that is an investment!  I recently bought a not so expensive Isco 54 altough I don't need it because it is very heavy. I just could not resist. Not long ago I had the chance to buy an Isco 36 for 1,300 € but I already have one... That was stupid - could have sold it immediately for twice the price. Just want to say there are chance (at least in Germany I am living not so far from (Isco-)Göttingen and Wedel/Hamburg (Möller) is 20 minutes from my house...  :blink: Good luck!   My point: do practicing and be patient. Check the net for sales constantly. And dreams do very often come true. I was dreaming about Iscoramas and now I have two and Möller 8/19 which is for me one of the best ever.  Lomos might be great but for me too heave and impractical (this is not my profession!)

Great idea! But better write Iscorama on it and ask for three times the price ;)
