This has been tried before without success and is especially for the film-lover a silly approach. Technically experts doubt problems (shutter-synchonisation!) could ever be solved without destroying the camera. Sorry, hidalgoserra for getting OT! As I said this is an exciting video and impressive work but I was also referring to the mentioned car-commercials which are entirely cgi. And maybe there is something wrong with my screen but to my eyes this clip is not very saturated. Ben Hur is saturated. This looks closer to Matrix for my old eyes ;) This music video is as digital as it gets: captured probably on Red (?) and edited to the brim in Flint, Flame, Inferno (cgi Softimage or whatever - I don't know anything about all this stuff) But still great work and very impressive:

CGI is the key to create videos that look so artificial, clinical and lack soul and liveliness. However this is very fascinating and I like it from time to time but in the end it is just not touching like film in my opinion. Remember: We are enliven beings and our brains think analogue! That is why I love making film. Watching a projected film is different. Damned, I am old... :o :)

I have no idea at all... Astonishing people can distinguish all these things! The only thing I can say: This is not film... 

I've got the feeling prices on ebay lowered recently slightly. It seems the people are less hysteric and less willing to pay absurd prices! There were many examples (some Isco54 for around $2000,- I think...) but I am too lazy to post any links. However the Sankor is really not bad!

Yessss... that is the perfect christmas gift for my wife! I'll take it if you deliver it dressed as santa. Honestely: I nearly can't stand it but unfortunately the weekend cottage needs some repairs, the dishwasher is just broken, the tv behaves strange the Audi asks for inspection, I have two children. I am definitely a very, very lucky man! :)

I had a nice example but sold it as I prefer the small Moeller. Tony is - as usual - very good informed: The hypergonar was sometimes sold together with the Chinon Pocket-8 or Revue Pocket L super-8 cameras. These cameras had primes and with the 1.75 squeeze you could achive true 2.35. However the 1.5 squeeze (chosen by Moeller and Isco) is better for the tiny super-8. However maybe there have been sold some more Hypergonars cause especially the Revue cameras were for the mass market... ?! Just guessing. Still a miracle what this tiny baby can produce :o

@eoskoji: Wow, great... Have much fun with it and take good care! @au8ust: I saw that one either: Hopefully you can fix it! Maybe the backlens can be polished? It looks like its has been opened already and something is missing (you shouldn't be able to see that brass-coloured ring). Would be great if you can bring this very rare lens back to life. This is the best of the small Iscos I think: No MC and 36mm rear. They were made for Schneider taking lenses (10mm F1.8 Cinegon) Some for Beaulieu (C-mount) and Bauer and the best went to Leitz as somebody from Schneider told. I once read here Tony Wilson recommended http://www.super16inc.com/ Hopefully they can help you! Good Luck and keep us informed! :)

I like that very much! Great work! Thanks a lot for posting. And what is often not mentioned: It is not only the (visible) content. It is much more the music! You see so many videos of some boring daily grind (streets, traffic, parks...) The main thing that makes that interesting is a good song! That is especially important for the average watcher.

That is damned cool - that sort of digital dirt. I always get something similar on my (analogue) films but much more... Brings some live into this clean digital world :) The rotating anamorphic is arty I think. I love the Moeller!

As far as I know the Isco Centavision was distributed from Widescreen Centre England and Scoptimax Ltd. Germany. Both are similar (as described above). Scoptimax (former Cineton AV) was a publisher for Cinemascope Super-8 movies as well.

Tony I cannot take you serious on that point. You did not bring your a idea to the right end. The problem is not the lip! We live in exiting times - some say great things are happening! Thats right: I have a patent application to solve the problems of blurred edges on all cheap anamorphics forever. I am working on a  plate with a perfect circle cut out. This will be painted black and masks all the blurry parts from the picture. I am still waiting on the prototype from the research laboratory. I am looking forward for your input and suggestions.  How about round TVscreens? "The revolution could be televized"!

I don't anything about c-mount lenses but there are some other interesting 16mm lenses on Arriflex: I recently bought a cheap Angenieux 12-120mm 2.2. I use it with my Leicina but I maybe it could work on my GH3 and I think the sensor of the Digital Bolex is just a little bit smaller?! But I don't know how this would work with the Iscorama (ah damned just came to my mind that front size is 72mm so that is Isco 54 land...) Sorry had two beers...  :wacko:

Man, you are a poet! Can I borrow this for song-lyrics? I am unable to write unfortunately. Therefor I switched to french chansons cause I am a limited to about 23 words in french which makes writing lyrics fast and easy (of course I am changing order!)

@bioskop i think you re right with the 42: i know an experienced super-8 guy and he also said the 42 is the sharpest The 54 is very sought after by super 8 filmmakers as it is great for most vario lenses. The small isco is perfect with the 10mm leitz macro cinegon - that is the peak in super 8! And therefore it is great to have the small isco like it is: Lite and small (the cinegon is a small lens). That is why i use both and they play nicely together. @tony i am very interested in your new clamps!!! I am habing a hard time waiting for some unique gear beeing made here in hamburg...

Tony i am not doing less than accusing you of making me buy two möllers! Haha, Francisco before learning any new vocabulary i have to learn speaking :)
