I shoot wedding and think they are total blast. Its always a happy day, you get damn good free food, cake, and a chance to seriously improve your skills. There seems to be a negative stigma surrounding them which I simply don't get.    If you're using the GH2, the Panasonic 12-35 is a great choice. On the cheaper side of things I'm not sure

I started watching "North America" on the discovery channel tonight, and the production value was just insanely good. I was able to dig up some cool behind the scenes and making of information on their website, but am still unsure what kind of cameras they use on shows like this and Planet Earth.    Anyone know off hand?    http://dsc.discovery.com/tv-shows/north-america   Also worth mentioning is that their use of the cineflex system for arial and ATV shots was astounding. Props to this team. 

Suppose it depends on what you're filming, but I believe the vg20 will film till the card is full whereas the nex5 has a 12 minute limit. But if you aren't shooting events, I agree there's not really a good reason to buy one.

The VG-20 had a nice image, similar to the 5N. The newer ones though indeed are not good

Absolutely RX100. Never leave my home without it. Fantastic RAW stills, great video

Pretty impossible to be excited about at the moment, but probably will be useful, especially for event shooters with camcorders

Not incredibly familiar with his other work but I absolutely loved Fringe

I was unaware that they already had one for the 6D :) 

My intern just got one and I got to shoot with it 2 weekends ago. If you don't mind moire and aliasing in the footage, its great. Slightly better in low light than the 5d in my experience. Overall image is the same

Can't speak on number 1.    2. By todays standards yes, its a good low light performer. I'm happy to use it at 800 ISO. 1600 in a pinch. Better than Canon APSC cameras by about a stop. I used it to shoot a black and white film alongside my 5D, and I used it at 1600 and 3200 ISO with some great performance, though we were going for a grainer look.    3. Not quite. It sharpens nicely though, and on a TV its hard to tell the difference. The whole sharpness craze is a little silly if you ask me.   I think the benefits of the GH3 are greater versatility with lenses, 1080p 60fps, and a nice sharp image out of the camera. 

This is unfortunately the case around here too. If you're shooting your own projects and short films it really doesn't matter. But if you're doing freelance, a lot of people expect (even if they're clueless) a 5D, or c300, etc. 

I am a 5d mark 3 owner and I say go with the GH3. I used the t2i for over a year before I had the 5D, and made some great work with it. The GH3 definitely has a leg up on low light over the crop sensor cameras I've used. Unless you find yourself shooting in caves using a cell phone as a light source, I really don't think the 5D's low light performance is all that useful.    I'd say go with the Gh3 and invest in some good fast glass, and make sure you know how to light properly. 

It actually sharpens pretty nicely in post, though it is of course limited

I'm so glad others share my eBay sentiments. I sold a synthesizer recently. After receiving payment and shipping the thing, the guy claims he hadn't received it and PayPal slaps me with a negative balance while the case is on going. All only 2 days after the auction. After several phone calls and emails with eBay and PayPal, I realized I would have to take matters into my own hands. They sided in the buyers favor because I didn't upload shipping info immediately, despite the fact that I had uploaded it once he opened a case. He had my synth and my money for a week! Well I crafted a legal looking document and threatened to sue the guy and he finally sent my money, in addition to a hateful email about how big of a jerk I was for threatening a lawsuit. Never again
