I wouldn't give them such a hard time about not changing the body. There is every chance they made ALOT of bodies, ready for the BMCC.... But due to the sensor problem, and subsequent cancellations, they have a warehouse full of these "shells" that can now be put into use as the 4K cam. The 4K cam might cost twice as much, with a different design.

I've also never heard of anyone shooting a real world production on a camera that might not exist until 2014. Slate Canon all you like, but you can go into B&H and buy a c300, today. Anyway..... I'm interested to see what the rest of NAB brings, i'm hoping Go-Pro step into the game too.... That should really heat things up. As things stand, my eyes are firmly on the FS700+Oddessy Q7 combo (confirmed to shoot 4K/30p raw and 2K/240p raw continuous!). It is a camera i can buy today, it will get even better in a few months... For around $15k, all in, with battery and lenses. But, things are gonna change quickly this week! I was so close to pulling the trigger on the F55, but glad i waited for NAB.

This is what i posted on the other thread: It is a game changer, in my eyes.... and cheaper ones will come very soon. For many years, people have been craving the "filmic look" First, they thought it was 24p, then large sensor, then resolution, then higher DR ......... those things certainly help, but the way the camera moves is also a huge part of what makes something filmic. This gizmo is gonna allow for some amazing, cinematic camera moves. Coupled with a drone, you could make something absolutely stunning on any DSLR.

Too many people judging this on one video, a video that is clearly made to show off this kit in every shot.... Think about what YOU can do with something like this.

Nice back lighting and camera motion. I'm sure if you tagged this RED Epic or Canon C300... Not many would notice a difference.

Casio EX-F1 does 3K/60p for 2 seconds. The image quality is pretty damn good (terrible low light though)

I'm sure most of you have now heard about Convergent Design's latest product, Odyssey. This will be a top quality monitor and recorder, in one, with 2 SSD slots, HDMI/HDSDI in and some cool monitoring tools. Even more interestingly, it sounds like it may well offer a solution for recording the 4K stream of the FS700. This could provide us with the first "ready to shoot" 4K, raw, 12 bit camera package to hit the $10k price point (assuming the Odyssey and codec comes in for about $2k). This post was earlier made on DVXuser: "Dear Friends, We expect to make some FS700 owners real happy. Stay Tuned. Respectfully, Dan Keaton Convergent Design" http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?304792-New-Convergent-Design-quot-Odyssey-quot/page9 http://vimeo.com/62633690#

Will we see a new professional Panasonic GH-series camera at NAB?
ScreensPro replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
I'd be very surprised if BM announce anything new, camera wise. People who stayed patient with BM would be unhappy with a better spec'd camera being announced and the possibility of further delays and pre-order chaos..... Everyone else will just think they are full of shit to announce another camera with the BMCC still massively in limbo. It's a real shame... Maybe they will turn up with 10,000 BMCs.... Here's hoping. -

"Does" and "Capable of" are very different words. It might take an extra $10k to turn it from capable of to actual doing 4K video. Who knows.. Anyway, if we need to show that a DSLR type camera can do 4K video... We have a real world example already... a 1D-C, we don't need to start mentioning a 1 second burst mode as evidence. Hopefully, like the GH1/Gh2 was to the 5DII.... Panasonic might just bring about something at a much lower price, with some interesting features. They are not scared to put cool features in lower priced gear. -

Do we really need to keep perpetuating the myth that Nikon had 4K Video in mind, for their burst mode.... It is a still camera feature -

I think we might see 2 cameras..... around the $5k and $10k-$15k mark.... Something around the size of the C100 with the new 10bit codec, 1080/60p and 12 stops of DR would be great for the $5k. I think they will launch the 4K cam they showed in 2012 at the higher price point. Get the feeling it will be 4K, but not raw. I love Panasonic and have done since my HVX200, but they need to nail the DR in whichever models they bring out -

The recent launch of 5" 1080p mobile devices shows that the consumer is basically an idiot who equates higher numbers with better quality, even when there is zero visible difference and the videos they consume on said device will mainly be 720p or below anyway. BUT Upgrading your phone, if you are on a contract, is cheap.... and if you are just entering a contract... The price difference between a Galaxy s3 and s4 is minimal. This is the only way 4KTV will take off.... when the price to upgrade is so minimal that you may as well do it. -
I'm sure alot of you have seen this going viral, but worth posting: http://vimeo.com/62092214

Shame these cams have a fairly low DR, topping out at 11 stops (according to http://www.dxomark.com/index.php/Cameras/Camera-Sensor-Database/Nikon/1-V2) 12 stops is the magic number, for me. Although raw can compensate for the slightly lower DR. Think i'll order a V2, unless i pull the trigger on the F55 that i have been staring at for the last few weeks!
