1. saw this today..they were discussing if it makes mj's dunk look meaningless. the guys (i forget what show it is, but that dude and his dad) were saying there are more props deserved for the guy who took the charge..at least i think that's what they were saying. it was at work and the tv's are muted (restaurant)   i wrestled, so i don't know who is fouling who, but the dunk is insane. sick you got it captured; with a gh2 nonetheless
2. check out the 'wiggle' expression in after effects..sounds like it'll accomplish what you're looking for   http://www.videocopilot.net/basic/tutorials/09.Expressions/   edit: posted too slow..but that'll give you a tutorial of how to make it work
3. what's your budget?   baseplate x 15mm rails for $99 http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/875117-REG/IndiPRO_Tools_indi_base_DSLR_Baseplate_15mm_Rods.html   lens support for $25 http://www.amazon.com/Opteka-15mm-Lens-Support-Bracket/dp/B007R3Z8OG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1354900120&sr=8-1&keywords=15mm+lens+support   i got the indipro tools friction follow focus (i need to do some tweaking to get it to work smoother/better) but mostly i use the rail system for supporting my lens. i found something similar to the opteka support and it works just fine   crappy pic from my ipod touch, but you get the idea.
4. 1080p is a standard for hd video. 1920 (w) x 1080 (h) pixels, progressive frames (16:9 aspect ratio). it doesn't apply to a 4:3 aspect ratio. the gh2 isn't recording 'true' 1080p in 4:3 mjpeg mode.   what happens with a gh2 in the hacked mjpeg mode is that it takes advantage of the 4:3 image size of mjepg recording. the sensor is recording a 4:3 image, while the output file is a 1920 (w) x 720 (h) (2.66:1 aspect ratio). so with an anamorphic lens, this will unstretch the footage in the camera. at least that's the best i understand it, and i may not be explaining it very well...   read this article to see if it helps clear it up at all:   http://www.eoshd.com/content/3515/2-661-for-2x-anamorphic-on-gh2-rebooted
5. i made this video a few months back after picking up some cheap c-mount lenses and an anamorphic lens off of ebay. it was really more for me to see how i could use some of the lenses and image quality from the cheapo c-mounts. this was the first time i had shot with an anamorphic, so there are a couple shots where the focus and/or alignment is off. i think i'm going to redo the test at night to get an idea of how they do in low light.   thoughts, comments, critiques are welcome   http://vimeo.com/49446155   info from the vimeo page if you don't feel like making the jump:     24H Cinema = 1080p/24fps SH = 720p/60fps VGA MJPEG = 1920x720 MJPEG @ 30fps ISO400 shutter speed: 1/50 (for 24fps), 1/60 (for 30fps), 1/125 (for 60fps), 1/2 for last two brief time lapses white balance: 9000K, -2 m film mode: smooth, -2 on all OIS: off (with kit lens) iDynamic: off iResolution: off patches: Driftwood GOPSTOPPA (for avchd) and EOSHD MJPEG anamorphic (for MJPEG) lenses: panasonic 14-42mm/f3.5-5.6 unknown brand c-mount 25mm/f1.2 fujinon c-mount 2.8mm/f2.2 zenitar m42 mount 16mm/2.8 canon fd mount 50mm/f1.8 toyo fd mount 28mm/f2.8 sankor compact cinemascope anamorphic with VAMP clamp music: dj concept - 'the mask is slipping' no color correction/grading
6. with the mjpeg anamorphic hack, you don't need to interpret footage in your nle to get the correct aspect ratio.   if i shoot avchd footage with my 2x anamorphic, i go to 'modify... > interpret footage > aspect ratio > conform to anamorphic 2:1 (2.0)' for every file to 'unsqueeze' the image. if i shoot in the mjpeg mode, i can use the files straight off the card, bypassing the interpreting footage step
7.   something to do with keeping the size down, iirc. and i think it's safe to say the average person buying a 21.5" imac probably wouldn't be replacing the ram at any point anyways; so why not solder it in and safe a few millimeters i'm pricing out a windows workstation right now. i had thought about the imacs, but for the price i'd rather build my own rig and have more options for later upgrades
8. OP: are you looking at the 27" or 21.5"? the 21.5" has soldered in memory..the 27" doesn't
