The first batch have been booked with the Precision Engineering company for next month. They have quoted 4-5 weeks for delivery. Then after delivery, they have to be assembled and aligned at my facility. Then, I will shoot some footage and the first people to place orders will be served first. I will not accept any purchase orders until the first batch are in my hands, tested and I can substantiate my claims. When I have the footage the whole world will know about it :)

Andrew, I am on your side but your futurist must have advised you that she could see a train wreck about to happen :) I think we all have to grasp the new wisdom which seems to be invading society at the moment Heres a few free ones :) * I asked God for a bike, but I know God doesn't work that way. So I stole a bike and asked for forgiveness. * Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience. * The last thing I want to do is hurt you. But it's still on my list. * Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak. * If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong. * We never really grow up, we only learn how to act in public. * War does not determine who is right--only who is left. * Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad. * Evening news is where they begin with 'Good Evening,' and then proceed to tell you why it isn't. * To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism. To steal from many is research. * A bus station is where a bus stops. A train station is where a train stops. On my desk, I have a work station. * I thought I wanted a career. Turns out I just wanted paychecks. * Whenever I fill out an application, in the part that says, 'In case of emergency, notify:' I put 'DOCTOR.' * I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you. * Women will never be equal to men until they can walk down the street with a bald head and a beer gut, and still think they are sexy. * Behind every successful man is his woman. Behind the fall of a successful man is usually another woman. * A clear conscience is the sign of a fuzzy memory. * You do not need a parachute to skydive. You only need a parachute to skydive twice. * Money can't buy happiness, but it sure makes misery easier to live with. * There's a fine line between cuddling and holding someone down so they can't get away. * I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not so sure. * You're never too old to learn something stupid. * To be sure of hitting the target, shoot first and call whatever you hit the target. * Nostalgia isn't what it used to be. * Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine. * Going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than standing in a garage makes you a car. * A diplomat is someone who tells you to go to hell in such a way that you look forward to the trip. * Hospitality is making your guests feel at home even when you wish they were. * I always take life with a grain of salt. Plus a slice of lemon, and a shot of tequila. * When tempted to fight fire with fire, remember that the Fire Department usually uses water. * If we are supposed to learn from our mistakes, why do some people have more than one child? -

Its a shame Sigma did not put the info on the side. Most sellers I ask dont know the difference between a diopter and a helicopter
-
Anyone know the diopter strength of the Sigma 72mm?

Looks like a friction weld :) 1 OK, first remove the square section rod/sting using the retaining screw 2 Then have some penetrating oil ready on a dropper. WD40 will do 3 Next heat up the rear part near the knurled washer retaining nut using a hair dryer and then add a few drops of the oil and leave for an hour. 4 Try to remove the rear ring by hand force, wear leather gloves it helps. 5 If it is still stubborn repeat from 3

It lives! 5 year old $350 Canon 50D becomes raw cinema monster
JohnBarlow replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
I'm kinda liking 2:1 Scope, being a half way house between 16:9 and 2.35:1 Can someone tell me the biggest square crop at 24p thats possible with this cam? Is it 1152x1152? -
Not one for disagreeing for arguments sake, I can just point you to the facts Check the rightmost download columns of these links put up by the devs themselves 5D2 https://bitbucket.org/a_d_/magic-lantern/downloads 600D https://bitbucket.org/OtherOnePercent/tragic-lantern-2.0/downloads I dont have data for the 5D3 but I would suggest it is not 10x, 100x or 1000x more downloads. These figures represent repeated downloading of the latest builds based on users actually installing the soft and shooting with it. Which is a whole world of difference between watching and shooting. I believe video of kittens are big on the tube and vimeo, struth.... I am not knocking ML at all but facts are facts, we are minnows.

Some reference photos are included in the listing. http://www.ebay.com/itm/130922805404?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_sacat%3D0%26_from%3DR40%26_nkw%3D130922805404%26_rdc%3D1

I think 'we', being those that visit great sites such as this one, are perhaps giving ourselves a false impression to how big certain markets are. Just a cursory glance at the number of downloads the ML raw builds tells the tale of a few hundred at best. Compared to the interest in these devices as photographic cameras rather than movie making machines, I think we are small fry.
