Hi Andrew, Richard, Thank you for your kind words, Rectilux 3FF pricing can be found at the website and also in the download brochure. Rectilux 3FF ordering information is also available for download at the website using a procedure which should be familiar to you. Ordering is already in place with several orders confirmed for Kowa BH/16H/8Z and ES Cinelux and others. There is also a white paper explaining how these focus units work and also some guidance on what benefits should be considered before making a purchase. Recently, I needed to explain the name and rather than drag your readers away from this forum, I can reproduce my reply here. Rectilux comes from the Latin: Recti = straight Lux = light, in other words Rectilux means the light passes straight through, no effect on footage. Rectilux has neutral optical transfer function (see wiki - optical transfer function) which is a tech way of saying no effect on footage. The following are test shots purposefully taken to show the exceptional performance of the focusing optics by mimicking a 4K to 1080p workflow from 16mp stills and are best viewed full size on a 1080p monitor. See this shot below taken at F1.8/50mm 1/50s, (check EXIF) the left part tells you nothing about the focusing optics because it is all bokeh blur, however the right part tells you everything - it is very detailed and no CA, over by the bookshelves which are about 20m away @https://www.flickr.com/photos/125986580@N05/14892655303/sizes/o/ below I have a stealth shot of a Rembrandt at the art gallery, worth a few million, when the security guards were not looking, Rectilux is light & small, goes unnoticed. Shot up close, handheld, less than 1 metre at a slight angle F1.8/50mm 1/50s, (check EXIF) see the corner performance, the detail in the bubble at 1:1 pixels @https://www.flickr.com/photos/125986580@N05/16042907897/sizes/o/ below I have a mid range outside shot with a zoom about 80mm F5.6 1/50s with 3xND filter, check performance across the frame @https://www.flickr.com/photos/125986580@N05/14686111660/sizes/o/ below I have a far range shot with a zoom about 150mm F5.6 1/50s with 3xND filter, check performance across the frame @https://www.flickr.com/photos/125986580@N05/14849888436/sizes/o/ more links to performance tests at the web site. I mainly use footage to show the breathing and mechanical focusing performance and effect on flares, the first few seconds of this one below show me pulling focus into the bottom left corner close-up focusing is where the stroke and throw is biggest of course, @https://vimeo.com/108008419 there are some quick focus pulls in this one, and you can assess breathing @https://vimeo.com/107346885 and slow pulls in this clip comparing mumps with a v-lite @https://vimeo.com/105439595 All my tests are concentrated on the focus unit you are buying, not on the anamorphic which you already own. Rectilux system is expanding, I will be adding Bolex 8 & 16 1.5x quick change support soon and more later. All Rectilux are single wavelength coated optics with a non-coated option by special request. Rectilux complies with the standard legal 14 day money back after delivery regulation.

Thx Andy, as mentioned earlier in this thread, I have been doing this for some time now. Over two years ago I posted a candidate lens scheme at Personal View long before I joined this forum ;) It was just a case of dusting off my CAD designs which had been on my hard drive and also it was necessary to provide the precision engineers (PE) with these files. The finished product will be exactly as shown in the VRs because they are the solid 3D models that have been passed to the PEs. The only thing I cannot guarantee is the exact shade of colour :) Basically the solid 3D CAD models are fed to a CNC machine such as the one in the video below. The machine sculpts each Rectilux from a solid block of 6061 aircraft grade aluminium similar to the process you can see below, after which they are sent off for anodization. This is the way things are done in the 21st Century and Rectilux has been designed specifically to make use of such methods. Despite these new flashy creations I believe that nothing compares to the potent raw creativity of the original Rectilux, built with my own hands. BTW your patriotism is commendable :P

I think you can bet your house that the 3FF-S will come around the figure you mentioned. The models supported can be found here: http://www.transferconvert.co.uk/cinemania/rectilux-base-engine-list.html However, it may well turn out that folks will have committed their funds elsewhere before my handsome OEM prices become public.

Some more news from Rectilux. Earlier I posted some footage from experiments in superwide anamorphic. The Rectilux 9FF now has a face and it is the first incarnation of the various embodiments I have been experimenting with. It is a 2x zoom anamorphic lens, field of view 180-90 degrees. Some product views on my website. http://www.transferconvert.co.uk/cinemania/rectilux-9ff.html

@Juan, Performance is a non issue. You can safely assume I have the skills to deliver, I am a qualified engineer and have also worked for three glass majors, check my FB profile. There is much to see on Rectilux 3FF and they were assembled by my own hands to get to know all the issues in making them work to high standards. The other models in the range are based on the same computer simulations and glass and precision engineering. Coupled with a 14 day money back to comply with consumer distance selling regulations, there is nothing to worry about. The commercial Rectilux versions are each sculptered from a solid lump of 6061 aircraft grade aluminium which means very high accuracy can be achieved, especially centricity and the production custom glass has already been seen to be excellent if you look at my Flickr page in my footer. Rectilux 9FF is now unveiled. :)

Yeah, now that I have moved into production mode with most of my quotes in, I am looking at an introductory special price on the 5FF and 7FF, 25 people would attract a significant discount as well as the built in weight saving. I will be announcing something shortly as well as unveiling the first look at Rectilux 9FF Ultrawide Scope lens 180 = 1+ 8+ 0 = 9 Rectilux 9FF Ultrawide 180 deg FOV Then followed by the new blue version of the Rectilux 3FF

In this post, I thought I would provide some insight into the technology behind Rectilux. I have a considerable collection of anamorphics built up over the last ten years or so and the clip below shows just a small part of my collection. Every scope seems to have its own personality and over two years ago I started a project to investigate what would be the optimum solution for a focusing group for each scope in terms of spot radius, chromatic aberration and so forth. The project's aim was to make each scope single focus. The work involved disassembling each scope, taking measurements using good engineering practice and modelling each scope in software. Following that, many iterative solves were conducted to minimise the merit or cost function, which is a measure of goodness, taking into account practical ergonomic issues like for example having a workable stroke. Over 30 species of scopes were analysed this way and the results have been catalogued and burnt onto the DVDROM that you can see at the end of the clip below. The DVDROM details the best optical prescription for each scope. Rectilux truly is the vintage look digitally remastered.

Andrew, you are entitled to run your forum the way you see fit. Public rescinding of moderator privileges for someone who was the first to publicly offer my services as a moderator is, I guess, your style. Of course, I was not the only moderator with business interests. Since you have now unlocked this thread, that I locked earlier, do I take it to mean that you are now lending support to this mysterious party, who couldn't be bothered to come into this community to talk about their products? Let us all hope that if issues arise later, then they will be more communicative in solving them.

The forum rules apply to everyone, myself included. Once again, caveat emptor applies, you don't need to be reminded of this, maybe.
