Has anyone tried to hook up an A7s to a 'puter to test the 4k footage, is it even possible?
-
You might feel a little different after grading 4k footage ;) For me, I'm gonna wait a little while longer - at least until I see the Canon ship pull into port and what the ML magicians do with it

MFD is 1m and it works with 1.8/50mm

How much weight on a taking lens to not need a lens support
JohnBarlow replied to John Palmer's topic in Cameras
Just look at the lens mount - it varies between 3-5 M2 screws. Strip the threads of them and you will have a 2.35:1 frown :(- 3 replies

Bill, the rubber seals are from a hardware store, the tripod ring and rail support from ebay.

First medium format video camera - Pentax 645Z review from TCS

Bring it on! We need 1.5x FF sensor width don't we? :P -
Just follow the advice from this thread '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>> when cleaning test a small area out of sight first.

That's the second in the series of six. Identified by the side baffles in the front optic; version one was all round. Be careful opening it up - IIRC there are 61 ball bearings in the focusing system, 1/8" if you lose any :) Also the inside coating is delicate - any rubbing will remove it.

I would favour a prism system similar to the old RGB in video cameras, except that instead of RGB there would be ND of 0 stop, 2 stop and 4 stop, which combined could give HDR video on the fly.

The 10-18 is on my hit list too :)

Can I attatch an OpTex 52mm thread anamorphic filter to my DSLR lenses?

Step rings! -
The 5D2/3 are the only 'affordable' cameras which will give you genuine full height CinemaScope using MLRaw. Its the real deal.

Dyaliscope Junior 16 - Focusing is stiff, need some insight
JohnBarlow replied to John Palmer's topic in Cameras
Construction of the inner tube goes like this: The inside of the tube and the edge of the front optic is wetted with glue. The front optic is then inserted into the tube, followed by the front retaining ring which is screwed in. The tube is stood vertically until dry/cured with the retaining ring acting like a shelf. This is why when you see scopes with tool marks on the front retaining ring you know the skill level of the last tinkerer ;) This scope is a very nice optic with pink flares. Yes pink, just like the pink floyd from lightning and plasma balls- 7 replies
