But it sounds like all of the cameras are exitbiting this issue! It's not really a problem until you are at the last of the iso range.
-
That's what I am saying. So the exposure is getting lighter when you drop the shutter and therefore you can see it more clearly. Is that possible?
-
Are you sure that the exposure is the exact same when you change the iso or is it changing when you drop the shutter and see it more clearly. Whether it is buried in the shadows or not is maybe why you don't see it?
-
And look at me talk about too much saturation :)
-
I just read in the comments of the vimeo video posted above: "I've also observed the "purple fringing" on three different A7S. It's no light leak. There is one or the other sensor out there with similar problems. "Black shading" calibration is the keyword." I have a different adapter than the metabones and I am using FD glass. I don't have any native lenses to test unfortunately. This only happens at really high isos. But it is still unfortunate as it looks like the rest of the image is pretty clean except for this part.
-
I was actually shooting some test shots and by the looks of it Deep with contrast at -3 and sat +1 seem to work well with skin tones as well. I know it's not a profile, but I love Nikon colours and have been trying to get something close.
-
I agree, I tried bringing back saturation before and it never looks as good. Easier to dial it down.
-
I'll be able to test more once I have I get my other adapter, but it sounds like it is happening to all cameras in the same way. Not sure though...
-
I tested last night and it has nothing to do with shutter speed. The half vignette is there at high isos period. Strange that it is only on one side and that all cameras have it.
-
Thanks for posting Brandon. I will have to try out cine 4 with those settings. The skin tones look great, but a touch saturated for my tastes. They look way better than I have been getting. I'll try it out.

I am really confused. 108 IRE sounds about right. So when zebra 100+ shows on the display, it doesn't mean that it is clipping. It could be, but maybe it is between 100 and 108. Correct?
-
I lost you there. Are you saying that the A7s records 16-235 or all cameras record that?
-
I have a question about zebras on the a7s. I have been testing out the 100+ setting. It seems that the 100+ setting is displaying anything over 100 IRE. But when I import my footage into my editor those places aren't blown out. They are just over 100 IRE, but can be under 120. I thought that anything over 100 should be blown out?
-
Not long. We should call it purple half vignette. It only seems to show up on the left half.
-
Naw, it's only happening on one side of the frame. I agree that it's a high iso though.
-
Ya it happened to me this weekend as well. I haven't done further testing, but it seems to be happening in my camera as well as high isos.
-
I usually shoot at sharpness 3 to aid in focusing, but looking at sharpen 0 vs 3 there is no doubt that 0 is nicer.
-
Cool, thanks for letting me know. I thought that there would be problems. I have been using the hack for a month or so and it seems that the occasional data error happens (probably based on the slowness of my card), but other than that everything works well.

Thanks for the update. Does playback in camera work?
-
Wasn't there an update from Nikon that addressed battery length?
-
That's right. It's the D600 and therefore has to be 720p.
-
Just because it's 720p and it's shot with a D600. I think it was tagged as that.
-
The last video that I posted as an example
-
Oh really? I didn't find it that soft.It was just the aliasing that bothered me.
-
This was shot with a D600 which is most likely worse in 720p and other than the aliasing it looks pretty good...
