Thanks! It unfortunately won't be out for a while... we are going to put it in the festival circuit first. I'll post it here when it is out though. Just posted our episode 3 of the BTS for that shoot

I thought I would put together some of the things that we have learned about working with non actors or inexperienced actors. Hope this helps and let me know if you have any feedback or questions..

I must have missed those comments. I would say it would have to do with getting more comfortable with it as well as I changed the settings. The grip is different on this version so probably through me off a bit.

I am not sure I understand the question? Are you asking why it is shaky between 1:09 and 1:24 and not after? If so, I believe I am running between 1:09 and 1:24.

This is episode 2 from our BTS/vlog from our journey to film a fictional short in Guatemala a bunch of weeks ago. Let me know if you have any questions or anything that could be improved!

Thanks for the feedback Kye. I am assuming everyone is explaining the controls because they are explaining to newer users of resolve? Not sure... I definitely find that there is a lack of intermediate/expert information out there, but I guess that makes sense since they are working. Anyhow, I’ll probably put a few more of these out in the future. What I have learned over the years is that it takes a lot of time to learn something like colouring. Just doing it over and over helps you improve.

I posted a few clips from a shoot I was on in Guatemala on social and had a bunch of people ask me to show how I coloured one of the clips so I decided to put a quick tutorial together. Thought that I would share here in case anyone is interested. Doesn't seem to be that much on YT for Davinci Resolve.

Ya I wasn’t certain how the effect works in post. It’s not exactly possible to replicate it righ? Because the effect is just a 2d effect in post and when used on camera is it 3d? Not sure if this is right or wrong?

I have been playing around with this adapter for the past three or four projects and I am really enjoying shooting with it. For the price I think it’s really worth it IMO. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks Kye, glad to hear you are getting something out of it. You are right, everyone shoots so differently and it's really interesting to see different ways of doing things! I hope more eyes get on this so we can make more. It's so much work haha....

Thenks so much! In terms of matching the cameras, the only difficult part is between the S1 and the Sony cams and we have been tweaking the profiles a little each shoot so we can get closer and closer. Mostly the difference between both images is that the S1 image is much more saturated and sharp so I usually blur it and desaturate and match colour in post. It’s not that bad in the end and I have gotten used to it. Plus the S1 image can be pushed around a lot. As for the mavic filters, I believe we use polar pros, but I’d have to check.

Hello everyone.. a couple of weeks ago the NOMO Films team was in Guatemala to film a fictional short and we wanted to show you how it was being made. We shot BTS for the whole shoot and this is the first episode. I hope you like it and let me know if you have any questions!

Haha ya, we need to use our Musicbed ambassadorship more in the future... Good song though!

This is our reel for 2019... It's only a minute long and we were trying to highlight all the different types of projects that we worked on this year.

The problem with a lot of information on Youtube is that most of it is coming from people who aren't out there filming everyday. This is just because it is hard to post on Youtube and film professionally; making a Youtube video take a lot of time unfortunately. I have lot's of other tips and will probably keep working my way up to Advanced tips. If you haven't already checked them out, here are a few channels that are really good and coming from professionals. This is the next video in my series on how to make a good travel video. I hope that you get something out of the tips and as always, I would love to hear what you would like to hear in the next video!

I have been in love with the first version of the aircross for over a year and use it on all of my projects. The new version is out and it is even better than the last. The only thing is that I don't find it packs easily, but other than that I am a convert. I did a quick review about it. Oh and I am not affiliated in any way to Gudsen

OMG this is AMAZING! Best thing I have seen a long while!

I had no problems on a bunch of shoots with this unit until this past week where I was shooting with a set of seinheisers and rodes. They did not play together well. Lot's of dropouts. Luckily I was monitoring everything so I managed. Maybe you had interference from something else?

We don't plan very much, but we attack each place as a scene and try to set up as much as we can in each location. The spots that we were able to do that was only the DJ scene and the final scene with the children in front of the TV. The others, we just had coverage and also tried to film what we thought we would place into the edit (ex: the television station scene). As for it being hard... yes it is extremely difficult and we are always teetering on getting the shot vs not getting it. Most of the time we only have minutes to film what are looking to get. Huh, interesting. Thanks for bringing that up.

I would never show a talking head, I would probably show a portrait shot of the interviewee or maybe them in action doing something relevant etc... I would love to hear what you thought didn't work?
-
Thanks for the subscription and for the feedback. Will definitely consider showing talking for the next one.

Thanks for watching and for the feedback! We shot mostly with an S1, A7iii and a mavic pro 2. All the lowlight shots (the church) is a7sii.

Thanks for the comment and for watching Jimmy. We were trying to head in a different direction this time and everything luckily came together.
