  1. The Moza air 2 is a little too large for an a7 type camera especially a a6500. Brandon did use that gimbal, but I believe he broke his and is using other gimbals right now. In the end they are all pretty great, but the Moza Air does seem to have some extra features that are worthwhile.
  2. Oh weird... did you calibrate the gimbal? I had a problem like that when I took it out of the box and then I followed some tutorial about it and have never had a problem since.
  3. What kind of problems are you having? to me it seems much more solid. Wow that's some serious auto correct problems in my title!
  4. I am a long time user of Zhiyun gimbals and i started using the Moza air recently and really love it. I made a vid about why. Let me know if you have any questions!
  5. I said I was comparing it to v2,v1 and the crane 2? Ah shoot you are right I don’t specifically say it there... damn
  6. Wow thanks Kye, that was really kind of you to say!! I haven't tried the 6th version yet. Is the aperture still f1.8 on the 24mm end? I have only tried the camera controls once. A cable connects to the camera and you can start and stop the recording as well as control the zoom. I don't find it that useful to be honest, but I guess maybe I never got used to using it. I usually preset my zoom and then start from there. Actually now that I think of it, I only tested this out on the Zhiyun crane v2 and not the crane M. I am pretty sure that the Crane M can do the same though... Quick question, does the background knock oof a lot at around 100mm? And is there still macro on the camera for the v6?
  7. I have done it many times and I highly highly recommend a gimbal and keep it on tilt mode so you can correct with all of the motion. With the doors open you can shoot out, but there is a certain point where the wind kicks in and will grab the camera and it will be unmanageable. Hope that helps!
  8. I have the mark 4 version. I find it is decent enough for AF. It doesn't hunt too often and you can still throw the background oof enough and get decent results. I agree that the a7sii or a7iii is a way better camera, but I think for an average person wanting to film abroad in countries that may be a bit sketchy then the rx100 is the perfect camera. Also the gimbal is so small. It just allows you to get more candid shots I think where it may be daunting to get with a bigger setup or maybe a too dangerous. People think you are just some silly tourist with an rx100, which maybe I am hahaha
  9. This is a quick discussion on the gear that I used to film GO Colombia which can be seen here: https://youtu.be/JhChJh5cOUE
  10. Thank you. I mostly just talk to the locals first and then ask to take their portrait. Then I get uncomfortably close . It's something that you have to get used to I suppose and can be very difficult at first. Also there are tricks to getting long takes like this without insulting the people. We didn't take a fixer, but that certainly does make it easier.
  11. Agreed! I was surprised at how diverse Colombia is. So many differing landscapes. Thanks! Damn that hand/ant shot!!!! Ya the rx100 for portraits is doable though. I would say about half of my portrait shots where done with the rx100. Just need the right lighting and zoom haha... Nice vid! For the A7iii I had the Canon 28mm F2, but I didn't use it as I remember? I basically kept the Nikon 105 f2.8 on the a7iii. I didn't use it that much.
  12. Haha, ya I have a pretty awesome family to tolerate it Oh fantastic. Where can I find it? I actually used the RX100 for a lot of it. I put it on a zhiyun crane m. I am actually going to put a YT video out soon about this. The crane m/rx100 and the mavic seems like a really great lightweight kit for personal travel films. Everything is so compact and you can do so much with it. Plus no one cares that you are filming because it's such a small camera. Highly recommended. The only thing that I miss on it is lowlight and macro on a long lens. As for the FHD question, I shot a lot of it in 1080p.
  13. Ya it's a really interesting place. I had heard bad things about safety and also assumed that it would be a country similar to Ecuador in terms of scenery. Safety was fine and the people were so friendly. The landscapes were very different to Ecuador as well. Mass tourism hasn't quite hit there so it's a great time to visit.
  14. I filmed this over 5 weeks in Colombia on a personal trip. I brought along minimal gear... well as minimal as I could Let me know if you have any questions and if you are thinking about visiting Colombia I would highly recommend it!
  15. Sorry I am just getting used to working off my phone since I was alleviated of my laptop what thread is that?
  16. Oh I meant from the video that was posted above. It showed that XPs was not as fast without resolve and without being plugged in it lagged significantly
  17. I had never looked at the XPS models. Seems like a 1000 usd cheaper. Seems like the Mac is a lot better though. https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell-laptops/xps-15/spd/xps-15-9570-laptop/dncwxb1649s
  18. I always keep it in front of me, but I made an exception this time. Ya it sucks. Lots of works gone.
  19. I had never heard of that before. So basically you need a thunderbolt connection? How big are these cards?
  20. So about 2400 USD? I wonder if I would have to use proxies still to scrub through 4K footage. Have you seen this machine in person? Some of these gaming laptops are way too big. I had the Acer nitro which has now found a new home and it as borderline too big for me.
  21. I just got my laptop stolen from my bag in an overhead bin on a flight to a shoot... ughhh. I need recommendations on a laptop PC 15inch to be used as an editing machine on the road. Please help if you have any ideas!! I am editing in DaVinci.
  22. I am wondering if this is even a problem? I guess it could be... Tons of lenses have distortion which is very obvious. This problem to my eye completely unnoticeable. Does it matter?

    Sony RX100 4

Just set up your buttons to be able to switch to af. So one button to choose Af point and then when focussed switch to MF.
  24. True, but colour shifts shouldn’t be drastic. No one wants pink elephants! I kid, but you know what I mean? And yes why were the samples removed Andrew? I am curious?
