Reporting back. I just picked up the Came H4. It is really light and very easy to setup. I would say that the flycam can do just as well, but there is definitely a huge advantage of having the precision knobs. It takes no time at all to balance which makes it worth the extra cash imo.

FYI. The beta now works with audio for a7s files on windows.

I am exactly wondering the same thing. I am considering switching to a gimbal, but I just want to mount my camera and go. I don't want to deal with any headaches. I am using the flycam nano as well and it still works really well for me. Any huge advantages with the gimbal system over a flycam?

I thought that I would share my new video here. Shot with an A7s last year in India. Such a colourful place with so many filming opportunities!

You can do it in two ways.... 1) In post you ramp a post zoom in and the cut to another shot that is zoom in and stops (in 4k you won't see degradation of the zoom in) 2) You do it in each shot. Typically what people do is shoot a clip and then zoom out. Take it again, zoom in. Take it again pan left, then again pan right. Tilt up and then down. Then you have all options to work with in post.

They cut on motion. Follow similar motion either by creating it in post or match motion from clip to clip. Hope that helps...

I thought the lighting, acting and cinematography was fantastic. If I shot this or had anything to do with this movie, I would be proud.

I have been using it for over a month. I was previously shooting with the a7s so it wasn't too much of an issue. The biggest thing that bothers me on this camera is that the monitor dims when shooting in 4k. It's so hard to see to set WB and exposure. The batteries is an issue, but they are tiny so I just keep switching them up. Also turning off the wifi on it saves on power. I have been shooting in cine4 and I think the footage looks really good.

OK I picked up the a7s ii. Thanks for all of the info. It's so nice to have IS again. Wowzers, such a change. Handholding at 300mm. Damn!

Hello, I shoot a lot of handheld work and I have no doubt that the IS in the A7s ii will help stabilze, but I am wondering how people are finding the IS when using vintage lenses (3 axis IS). Is it worth the upgrade for the IS? Does it take away the micro jitters? I have seen a few tests, but it's really hard to tell. Can I get smoother movements with it? Thanks in advance, Joshua

I haven't been following wolfcrow that much, but I did see the first few posts and to me his information seemed off. His colouring looks bad imo and therefore I wouldn't follow his example. This is just my opinion though...

We just did a shoot with the DJI Phantom 3 in Haiti and I have to say I am really impressed. The footage looks fantastic at 4k. Just remember to turn off the fail safe. We didn't and ended up shattering ours... :(

I haven't tried others, but the a7s and a couple of Canon Fds and you would have a great system.
