Finally got to embed the bloody video!
-
Hi guys! Long time since I last posted here! OK, Last month Burbuja Films and I presented Midnight Sun, a documentary about the prolific music scene in Finland, Norway and Sweden. Let's try to embed the trailer right here: I filmed the thing last summer during a two month hitch-hiking trip in these countries. Alone. For the journey, bands day to day and interviews I used the RX100 mk2, and for the music videos the BMPCC with c-mount primes. I also had a zoom h1 for audio. I was forced to use this tiny cameras as I was travelling with just one bag, but I also realised that sometimes the smaller the better, specially in this kind of docus where I needed the people to feel comfortable and act natural in front of the camera. I just wanted to let you guys know that EOSHD was a huge source of inspiration it terms of which gear to choose for the job. I'm really happy with the performance of these two tiny cameras -they never let me down in the two months of production and we think the result is fantastic, considering the low-budget-ish nature of our project. Now, the documentary is touring in festivals all over the world and we hope people enjoy watching it. Thanks for helping me! Javi.

Glad to see that you guys still make stuff with the V's. Here is my last burst video: http://youtu.be/Nw8H4v0zN_0 This time I used a Kowa anamorphic lens attached to my 35mm f2 Helios. This is the V2, therefore it is 5K. Specially good for the job as it shoots 4:3, so you can get proper anamorphic aspect.

its kind of new, yeah.

The mir is a kiev mount lens. You just need to get the kiev 16u - mft adapter off ebay.

I have! http://youtu.be/2NYmNkye3dI In the video I used all my Russian arsenal: - Kinor 16OPF-12-1 (10-100 zoom) - Metor 5-1 (17-69 zoom) - Mir11-M (12mm) - Vega7-1 (20mm) - Tair-41M (50mm) The opening shot and a few more was shot with the kinor zoom. Mines reads "2.9" on the ring as the fastest aperture, but I've seen other units with "2.8" on them. I presume that is the T number rather than the F, maybe? Of course, the lens says "2.5" on the barrel, so I think it is still f2.5. Wide open is quite "bloomy", the highlight bloom quite a lot. Anybody else using Kinors on the pocket?

That eos-m raw thing really interests me!

Thanks for making this adapter! Do you have any info about the quality of these lenses? Are they sharp? Typical Russian organic colours? Swirly bokeh? Thanks.

Thanks Seb. Sorry, I don't have the camera with me this week, but it was the Nikon V1 -> n1-ef adapter (with tripod mount) -> taking lens* -> step up ring (s) -> kowa porminar -> vari nd (duct taped to the kowa) All connected to a shoulder rig through the adapters tripod mount. The taking lenses where: 28 f2.8 Pentax smc 35 f2 Helios 50 f1.7 Pentax smc 58 f2 Helios 85 f2 Jupiter 100 f2.8 Pentax smc Had to align the kowa between shots, so it was a long shoot.

I think it looks fine

Thanks mate. I'm just so confused about it. Some people say it is pretty much the same as the bmcc, saying that is miles away from 8 bits dslrs. They are the same people who work with alexas and reds and they match them with bmcc in post. Also, there are people saying that the pocket is sh*t, it looks so brown (i noticed this on loads of posted footage), that is so noisy... I suppose I'll have to buy/borrow one and see it with my own eyes. Sorry for the off-topic Shane!

Would you say the low light colour rendition is better on the 8-bit dslrs? It's a huge dilemma this pocket camera...

I made this music video for a band in Spain. The bits with the CD were shot using the V1s burst 4k raw thingy.

Anyone shooting with kinor+bmpcc?

Hi guys, Today I finally released the project I've been working on during the last 6 months. It was mainly shot on a 550d and Russian prime lenses (I know, not very practical for a documentary). Any comments and critics will be welcome!

This is my grade of the first 144 frames just released on their website. Password: d16 Yeah, that's it.

Yeah, it's full of rubbish. Well, I suppose I'll have to return this one and wait until another bargain comes up on ebay! Thanks guys.

I meant buying the SB (nikon lens to m43 body) to use it on a NEX camera

I just got the kinor 10-100 but....

I just received my kinor 10-100. This was the auction: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321141551053?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 Looks nice, doesn't it? Well, actually I noticed that all the elements inside are quite dirty. I put the lens against a lamp and made a short video: I'm not a super-sharp-lens man and I always liked the low-res, flary lenses (most of my favourite lenses have some dust or even fungus) but I think this is a bit too much. What would you do? Return the lens? Cleaning service?

Thanks for replying. Yeah, nobody wants to spend $900 in 2 speed booster! I ask because apparently the optic element is different to the E-mount version and thought it could be designed to cover a smaller sensor... Maybe Andrew knows this?

Hi guys, I was wondering if you could adapt the new MFT SB to be used on a Sony E-mount camera using one of these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Micro-Four-Thirds-4-3-M43-lens-to-Sony-E-NEX-5-adapter-/180840630768?hash=item2a1af109f0 I have a sony nex 5n and also preordered the BMPCC so I was curious about using the same SB for both cameras. But I am not sure if the image circle projected by the MFT SB will cover the 5n sensor. Do you guys know if this is possible? Thanks!
