Hello dears, does Audition CC support the 6 core CPU? I wish to buy the intel i7 5820k CPU (six core), I need to know if Audition will use all the six CPU cores please. I will use it under windows 10 64bit (or win 7 64bit). I need to know it also for Premiere Pro CC, Pro Tools 10HD, and Davinci Resolve 11 please. I ask for Audition and Pro Tools 10HD first because sound design for film is my first activity today. Actually I'm working only with Audition CC and I need a new PC to complete my project, because my old PC is not enough powerful to handle it. This film is more long than one hour, hundred of uncompressed wav files, real time effects, a lot of tracks, video playback. So I'm going to buy this new PC with i7 six core CPU 5820k. I need only to know if Audition (and other softwares) are able to work with all the six cores, because if they can't (if they only handle less core, or only 1 threat/core) there is no logic to spend a lot of money on a 6 core CPU and I will save my money. thx a lot!!!! can you share a workflow about how to do it please? p.s. I also have a technique but it's uncomfortable. 1) convert the scene in tiff. 2) open all the tiffs in lightroom. 3) use the brush degned to remove the moire on the first photo 4) copy paste the settings to all the tiffs 5) export all to jpg at max quality 5) use after effects to make a video with the jpegs moths ago I wrote to noise proof team to ask info about theyr plug in and I explained them my workflow. they suggested me to buy theyr plug in because it's better. I didn't because I had no money (I know only 10$...). they said to me this: cut "I must say our tool is way more powerful and efficient than the one in Lightroom. However and just like the Lightroom tool, ours is also aimed at colour moire as it will not be as efficient with monochromatic moire ( moire occurring solely on the luminance channel ). This is due to theoretical limitations, you cannot remove a pattern in the Y channel without blurring the image, and that’s against the whole idea behind NoiseProof Pro, which is maintaining detail and texture in the image while removing moiré." cut

I wanted to buy theyr plug in to see/proof it to myself. the website is down and I can not show you the content. I have found only this video over youtube. anyone have bought it? thx

ok guys, definetly I can not raccomend zoom H6 for cinema because it does not give a safety track for phantom power mics. if actors screams you can not have a professional audio. I do not racommend to use the limiter because it compress the voice and it seem a kazoo or a megaphone, it's not professional. they sell the expansion unit ehx-6 that give safety track but it does not work with phantom power mics, it's all a very big bad advertising marketing trap. do not fall in it like me. ... I bought a Y cable to find out a solution to this problem but I failed the experiment it half (and more) the volume. so there is no way to solve the problem. I must find another recorder.

I bought the SM4 and I sent it back to amazon because it really does not work for field recording. It can be good only if the mic is monuted on a motionless stand. Can you help me to decide which new shock mount to buy for my boom pole please? the alternatives are 1) http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/81KOG8aPIvL._SL1500_.jpg 2) http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/81cBGP7JmmL._SL1500_.jpg thx for your help

Magic Lantern run Linux 3.19 on Canon DSLRs - download source code

are we 100% sure this is not 1 april prank? -
I discovered there are almost two different tech of shock mounts. the first one is this kind: the second one is this: which one will work the best for a hand held boompole in the field? will the second one (second image) provide a good anti vibration isolation as the rubber band (first image)? for field recording I mean hand held non static boom pole. the mount must be really solid. if it is not the mic will lose its position and it could eventually "try" to fall (it's connected with the cable so it should not). for example try to read the one star review here. quote: "When I pay top dollar for a Rode product I expect it to work in a professional environment and this product has been a disappointment. Yes, it does isolate the handling noise of a boom pole quite well but the rubber bands do not support the weight of my Rode NTG-3 mic. The mic sags in the bands and tends to fall out of the mount in use. Good thing the mic cable was still holding the mic or my mic would have crashed to the ground several times. Plus, you look like a fool when you flub the take because your mic slid out of the mount. I even wrapped a rubber band around the mic base to "catch" on the mount's rubber and the mic still slid out of the mount. This mount sort of works on a static boom but is pretty much worthless on a hand held boom pole." Source www.am*z*n.com (Rode SM4, shock mount review).

ok probably I was wrong. Over Magic Lantern forum a guy suggest me this technique: http://www.dslrfilmnoob.com/2012/03/06/safe-xlr-cable-phantom-power-field-recorder/ Unfortunately when I asked to Zoom Company how to solve the this "safe rec backup" problem with phantom power mics they didn't suggest to me any technique. Do you have experience with Y cables? does it introduce unwanted noise? thx

Hello guys, can you help me to understand better this feature about the Tescam DR60dMKII please? There should be an option to have a backup file recorded at minus decibel to prevent clipping. On Tescam wesite they wrote: DUAL MONO and DUAL STEREO mode:Records a back-up safety track in case levels are set too high and clipping occurs. The safety track can be set to record from -6dB to -12dB below the initial take. If an actor suddenly screams a line, you have a backup recording that isn’t distorted. source: http://tascam.com/product/dr-60dmkii/ Does this feature works also with phantom power mics (for example rode ntg3)? thx so much. edit. I ask this because for example my Zoom H6 does not have this safe rec option for external phantom power mics. Zoom H6 have this option only with the module EXH6 (sold separately). the problem is this. surprice: the module EXH6 does not allow phantom power.... So this recorder is useless if you use a phantom power mic with actors that can scream (so in my case is useless and I must sell my Zoom H6 and buy the tescam, if the safe rec works with phantom power). http://www.amazon.it/EXH-6-Doppio-ingresso-Combo-Zoom/dp/B00TB297WU/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1426670829&sr=8-10&keywords=zoom+h6 I'm really in worry with Zoom, I also wrote to the company (an email) they said it's like I said: I can not have a backup rec to minus db with this device if I use a phantom power mic also with the EXH6 module. I wish to do not sell my Zoom H6 but unfortunatelly I have not enough money for both (zoom and tescam). I asked them for a firmware update they said: To enable them, it is necessary to load more expensive CPU onto the unit. Anyway your opinion has been noted. Although we do not want a price boost by the increase in functions, we will forward your email to the development team for future reference. If you want to take audio for cinema or theatre/any actor performance, and you want to use a phantom power professional mic, do not buy Zoom H6. Unless you can ask to your actors to be quiet.

thx a lot for your help. I gived those info to this friend of mine, he will try. thx again! dan p.s. do you had the sane problem?

Thanks for help again Pablo! I'm speaking with Rode (of my country) I asked them: The product page refer lossless transmission 44.1kHz 24bit. does it refer to the sample-rate conversion or it refer to the transmission capacity? http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1115091-REG/rode_rodlnk_fm_rodelink_wireless_filmmaker_kit.html sorry I used google translate plus my sense of bad english to translate this. they reply: Loseless (covers the transmission) and is simply to indicate that the sending of data occurs in standard "withoud loss of data". In fact there are protocols that in practice, in transmission send a compressed version (for instance like MP3, AAC or ATRAC format, called LOSSY, as that what they take away is lost forever ...). In practice what is sent is what comes. is not subtracted anything from the passband, is not subtracted anything from the passband. what do you think about it? thx!

please more!

Sorry I need help again to uderstand. The Rode is max 44khz 24 bit? Why? Should not be the recorder to set the max amount of khz possible? I mean the radio mic should just be similiar to a cable, it's a analogic signal. then the recorder shoud set the max amount of khz. for example my Zoom h6 can reach 96kHz. For movie production I need 48khz and 24 bit. So I shouldn't buy the RØDELink Filmmaker Kit (it's only 44khz)? if my DAW (pro tools) is set to 48khz 24bit and I import 44khz 24bit footage it will speed up the whole content. this could ve bad or not? any solution? thanks

thanks for your advices Pablo. In that bundle I'm going to pay for this device, but if I'm not wrong it's for classic microphones (the one that use singers at concerts for example) http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/634263-REG/Sennheiser_SKP_100_G3_G_SKP_100_G3_Plug_on.html is that device for those kind of mic right? I'm sorry I do not know anything about those kind of products. I wanted to add some info to my request please. I could have the necessity to add up to 4 lavaliers and send them into separate audio channel for audio recording. the device EW 100 G3 have a single lavalier so I can record only one people right? does exist some kind of bundle with 2 lavalier mics please? what can I do to record each mic to separate channel for audio recording? I have my zoom h6 it is necessary right? thx for help.

hello friends can I ask you help for this buy pelase? I need a new mic bacause I only own a zoomh6. I wanted to buy the rode ntg3 + boompole but then I though maybe it's better a radio microphone lavaliers for me. I need it to shoot indy movies and short films. And often to do interviews and promo videos for privates (that include interviews). do you believe that for those proposed the radio lavaliers are better than a shotgun mic? can you suggest models and prices please? For example for movies if we use 2 cameras (one far, another one close the subject) it become hard to use the shotgun mic. so lavaliers is ok. I need 2 radio microphones lavaliers and I wish the sound quality similar to the NTG3 do you believe can I reach this goal with 700 euros? p.s. I'm in Italy if someone have something used but new to sell I'm here. thanks a lot.
