  1. I was talking about using it as a hybrid casually - like when travelling or going to social gatherings. That's when the crop would become an inconvenience for me.
  2. Perhaps its just your threshold that is different? Would a 6x crop make it inconvenient or would you still be ok with that?
  3. It's inconvenient because you have to carry an extra set of lenses with you if you want to shoot the same angles of view in 4k
  4. It's not so much the crop itself, but the inconvenience of it if you're using it as a hybrid camera
  5. No I've never owned or even used a Sony a7 series camera. Although I did own the 42mp Sony RX1R II for half a year (an astonishing camera btw). The only reason I would choose the XH1 over the a7 III really is for the SOOC image. Sony seems to have the advantage in every other regard.
  6. Have you guys tried the 179 degree autofocus fix? Does it work?
  7. Yeh I've actually owned the XT2 twice before. This would be my third time hah! The last time I sold it was in Summer last year so I could buy two G85's for use in documentary type work I had in the second half of the year.
  8. Oh geez, you guys are making me jealous. I had no idea the camera was out so soon! It's in stock in UK stores too. Looks like I can't afford it for now though so i'll be sticking with my G85 or maybe replacing it with the XT2. Ultimately I will probably get a Sony a7 III, but for the price of the body alone I can currently get an XT2 + 18-55mm f2.8, 23mm and 35mm f1.4's.
  9. Awesome. Could you please check how smoothly it transitions between exposures in different priority modes? (P, A, S, M with auto ISO). And also if it the autofocus jitters much on static or near-static subjects
  10. What is this LF sensor? How does it differ to their previous ones?
  11. At least the 5d has raw. With the 80d you're just carrying around a big camera with no image advantages
  12. ^Do you work for Samsung? You know their camera line went out of business and you're not being paid anymore right? :P
  13. @mercerThere was a video posted on the last page showing the AF constantly drifting in and out of focus of the guy's face
  14. It does have 1080 120 though
  15. Rumors before the announcement suggested a price tag of $1899. I wonder if the XH1 price actually persuaded Sony to increase the price of this a little bit :o They've really hit it out of the ballpark with this one.
  16. No usually I get it when shooting the sun, so it'll be at iso 200. BTW A7 III price in the UK is the same as the US price, just with the symbol changed (£1999) https://www.wexphotovideo.com/sony-a7-iii-digital-camera-body-1655930/ Price should be $1999 = £1431 + 20% vat = £1717
  17. It was shot with the G80 with Olympus 17mm f1.8. Can't remember the exposure right now but it would likely be something like f1.8, 1/60th, iso 1600. There are some other lenses on the GX80 tested at the end of this video I made a while ago The issue is usually most apparent at higher apertures like f4 and above. I have found no way to mitigate it in my 5 years of shooting with m43, other than to edit it in post. It can also be a little difficult to predict when the problem will occur. (Sorry for derailing this thread btw)
  18. https://www.43rumors.com/olympus-releases-new-major-firmware-updates-e-m1ii-e-m1-e-m5ii-pen-f-cameras-plus-lenses/ One thing that was rumoured to be addressed but not mentioned in the notes is increased video quality. Could anyone with this camera please update it and let me know if the 1080p/60 looks any better?
  19. Oh I should have mentioned that users on dpreview have reported sending their XT2 in for repairs and receiving their camera back with different shaped frames around where the sensor is. The shape is the same as what's in the x-t20 and newer xt2 production units. It's speculated that the new frame helps mitigate the issue somehow. Unfortunately, yes, it's only a mitigation and can still be quite evident. https://***URL removed***/forums/post/60733792
  20. It's not the same type of artefact on m43. Its just general purple flaring that appears usually from f4 and above, but on this photo you can see it even at f1.8. It's not because of the modern lens coating either because it happens with old lenses too. Btw the grid artefacts on Fuji cameras has been fixed on later models of the XT2 and since the XT20. They mention it was fixed here https://mirrorlesscomparison.com/fujifilm-vs-fujifilm/xt2-vs-xt20/ I tried it when I rented an Xpro2 recently and pit it agaist my x100f. The xpro2 clearly had the grid artefact whilst the x100f didn't.
  21. We shall see how good it looks. Better bitrate means nothing if the initial readout is still crap
  22. It's slightly better than the M5 and M6 and only if you prefer a vari angle over a tilt lcd
  23. Unfortunately almost all mirrorless cameras exhibit some kind of issue with strong direct light sources, particularly those from m43 and fuji. I've noticed Sony and Samsung cameras to exhibit it the least. But it's one of the main reasons I always feel like going back to DSLR's.
  24. https://***URL removed***/samples/9120111657/sony-a7-iii-sample-gallery There is a lot of yellow in these images. Wonder if the other colour profiles will tone it down a bit. Otherwise looks pretty good.
  25. Any word on if there is a crop in 4k or 120fps? How about the quality of he 1080p? This camera sounds excellent. Would consider it over the XH1 due to the bigger battery and headphone jack.
