In the UK, retailers sales are being hit hard by grey goods. By offering things like the 5 year manufacturer warranty, Panasonic offer something that these grey good dealers cant match, which draws consumers back to the legit retailers. As for the choice between vlog and a 5 year warranty.. the former is a $100 upgrade and the latter is a warranty worth much much more. I know which i'd take.

True.. now that i think about it i think the Sonys are the only cameras ive used that can do that. Well, Sony and now Fuji. Mercer did you try the SLOG2 profile that i linked you some time ago?
-
So your "trick" is that you found auto iso? :p
-
Panasonic already said in a video interview a few days after the GH5 was announced that the sensor is the same as in the GX8

Well when im just shooting casually i tend to only be able to shoot hand held and i find jello to be really noticeable when doing so. Its a real shame about the 50mm. Im looking at alternatives atm. Theres the Voigtlander 58mm f1.4 for a similar price.

Have you read this forum before? Theres nothing but criticism going on

Yes. Send the money to the bank details ive sent you and ill have it delivered to you in a few months.

Just had a quick go on some old footage Original (shot with Flat with minimum contrast) D7000 Flaat11 profile D750 Flat profile Difference is somewhat subtle as expected but definitely an improvement imo

Interesting. Could potentially mean rolling shutter is better then?
-
Maybe I need glasses then because while I do see oversharpening on the Olympus, I'm not seeing any more detail with the Fuji. In the ISO test at the end the Oly does appear to be showing more detail. Anyway comparing detail on a 4k image is splitting hairs. The overall rendering is what counts and Fuji wins that hands down (in that test at least).

About time Should be useful for d5500 footage too

I honestly dont understand whats going on with these mirrorless manufacturer's strategies regarding lenses. Fuji has actually probably got it best so far with large aperture, small size primes. But theres still plenty room for more pancakes, other cheaper alternatives, more OIS. Like the new 50 is mind bogglingly expensive compared to a 50 on other systems. Sony's FE lenses are big and expensive. Some of MFT's lenses are silly too (the oly 25 1.2). Im always tempted to go FF with Canikon because of the lens options (not to mention the nice manual focus rings).

Yeh but a .64x booster would result in a wider view than most ff lenses are designed for. Like eg. A 24mm ff lens on a .71x booster on an apsc would result in a 17mm focal length which is 25.5 when used on the crop body. On a 0.64x youd end up with 23mm

How would this work? Aren't Leica lenses only made for covering the fullframe circle?

Love my little X-T10. Apparently the 20 will also have a touchscreen Hope they keep the same size and don't bump up the price too much. Like others have mentioned here, the XT2 has some major ergonomic quirks. But when I go home and load up the footage on my monitor, all is forgotten and forgiven for the beautiful image it gives

Thanks but do you think you could do it a bit more scientifically? So indoors, filming something that's thin and vertically long. Like another tripod or a door frame. Make sure the shutter is at 180 degrees. Do 3 videos. One without the VPB attached, one with it attached and one with it attached plus Boost mode turned on. You might find you can get a more consistant pan by just whipping as fast as you can. Since the VPB juices the camera up a bit more, I believe it might increase the readout speed. It might also explain why Cinema5d found the rolling shutter to be significantly better than the A7S whilst the DVXUser guy found it to be very similar.

@jonpais do you have the xt2 battery grip? If so could you test whether rolling shutter is improved with it?
-
I just meant for internal recording because obviously the bitrate is limited. Ideally the internal flog would have slighty more contrast and more saturation. That way theres less chance of chroma noise, banding, etc
-
I shoot mostly stills. Havent noticed any waxy skin issues. Maybe because i shoot at -4 noise reduction always? Yeh with Flog it has about 12 stops according to cinema5d which puts it on par with the a7s ii slog3 and one stop under the c300 ii. Im hoping they add a less extreme version of Flog to the internal recorder

Interesting choice of music Jon Good showcase of the skin tones though. Having used mostly Panasonics for the past two three years i am constantly surprised at how much better the fuji renders skin. The only thing im unsure of is how well its able to render it in high DR scenes where youre trying not to clip the highlights by underexposing and lowering the contrast (in camera and/or in post). Its much sunnier where you live so i was wondering if you could test this out for me?

I'm a big fan of Nikon's video image. Just wish it was a bit sharper and they had focus peaking.. and an EVF.
-
Interesting tests! Looks like Fuji wins for high iso and AF. EM1 II for DR and sharpness. For me though, Fuji def takes the lead for its overall rendering (at least in those scenes - except for the portrait which I think they should have used a different profile and WB).

@Vesku where are you seeing auto iso in M?
