This guy was actually using the D Lux 6, which is a 1" sensor panasonic camera, not the lx100. He does very impressive work. I recommend following him on instagram too if you're on there. His D Lux 6 was stolen a couple months though and he's now using a Lecia T (sony a6000 clone) and a clone of a bridge camera. Personally I think he should have gotten another D lux 6 or an lx100

@fuzzynormal Ok I have to say that I thought you were just being crazy but I finally had time to sit down and check out what was going on here. You're right, every other frame is missing. It happens on my GX7 too. But you will be pleased to hear that it doesn't happen on the GX80 Though I still recommend avoiding shooting at that shutter speed

When I used to use Premiere, it would interpret my GX7 files as interlaced. I cant remember if it did it for the MP4 or the MTS files. The same thing might be happening for you and is what's causing your technical problems. I just had to tell Premiere to interpret them as progressive. Never used Cinetools so wouldn't know how you might go about that

It's not the camera, it's not the software. It's just physics. If you shoot 60ss for 30p you will get the same amount of blurring per frame as if you shot 120ss for 60p. Now what happens if you shoot 60ss for 60p? Well you double the amount of blurring in each frame. It's the same as if you were to shoot 30ss for 30p. It doesn't look right. So it (60ss 60p) will not look right when you conform it or put it into a 30p timeline. I've tried it too when I first got my GX7 I tried shooting 50ss for 50p. It ruined a few projects.

@furfoot I think we all need to accept that CAF just wont be good on these cameras until Panasonic introduces phase detection, which might not ever happen. If you want that then you have to go to Sony or Canon, which each have their own problems. Is that wobble issue just with that lens or others as well? I have noticed the kit lens wobbles a lot when held at certain angles. But ive had no problems with non-IS lenses.

Thanks @sgreszcz ! Very useful Actually I'm going to put together a promotional video, so if anyone wants to submit clips for me to use in it that'd be sweet. Any picture settings will do, but do tell me what was used if you can.

What is the RAW like of the 5D2 vs the 5D3? And how about vs something like the BMPCC?
-
It's been in since at least version 10, which was in 2013 :D

BTW not sure if you knew already but Blackmagic Resolve has the same ability as Twixtor built in and is free

Ok so it worked on my GX80 (using play button instead of display) but I have so far been unable to reverse it! EDIT: Ok, 15 minutes later I worked it out. Make sure the camera is in P mode when you power it on. Then follow the guy's instructions but make sure to press the display button on the selection screen that appears so that "[STRICT]" disappears. Anyways this is pretty big news. Surprised it's only just been discovered!

I'm sure Andrew will do more comprehensive tests and show some artistic footage later. All I have time for right now is little tests. To users of the G7, this may be kind of old news. But I'm finding with 4k and the improved processing compared to the GH4, you can raise shadows more cleanly than ever before on a Panasonic mirrorless camera. In this test, I shot at ISO 200 and exposed to just before the 105% zebras started showing. The first clip is the raw footage, the second is with raised shadows and the third is graded. With this method you can easily get a shot with the same tonality as what your eyes see and have absolutely minimal noise.

Very low budget shoot but just thought I'd share this since it was made with two very different (priced and spec'd) cameras. I did half the shooting and then the grading after the editing had been done by someone else. I was surprised to find the image from the C100 was on the whole less pleasing than the Panasonic. But I managed to match them in post.

Film Noir doesn't mean no lighting. It would be better to overlight the scene and underexpose the camera than underlight the scene and overexpose the camera. The latter will always give you more grain.

People always say - if only there was a camera with Canikon's colours, Olympus' image stabilisation, Panasonic's usability and Sony's features. Well we're getting close now with the GX80 and I think I can plug the gap on colours. In the past I have actually shot the GX7 on jobs alongside my d5500 and (now sold) canon c100 mk ii. It is hard matching those cameras up and is part of the reason for why I'm so obsessed with grading and creating LUTs. Anyway with all that said.. I have been spending long hours the last few nights trying to conjure a LUT to end them all. I think I am very close now. It is a LUT that makes your Panasonic video look like it was shot with the Nikon. But I need more footage to work with. If people could do me a favour and send me footage from their GX80 and G7's I would be very grateful. Most convenient places to upload them is to Dropbox or Google drive. Either post them to this thread or send me a private message. I would like unedited clips. Would be helpful to have footage from a variety of lighting conditions too. Please do send well shot stuff though... not overexposed with the camera going all over the place.
