If you get a focal reducer then don't forget to also get a cheap dumb adapter as well, as they're worth having additionally!

I think the money spent on a Metabones would be better spent on a Gimbal, or a Microphone, a lighting package, ND filters, even a damn good used tripod and fluid head unless you have lots of money. With no IBIS in a XT-3 you are not going to do a lot like say a GH5 can. You are going to be pretty limited without a lot of the above items.
Video is not cheap to do, and do it well. All the other things add up. Not saying you have to spend thousands, well you do, but in the beginning you can just add a few things at a time. A Metabones would be WAY down my list. More of a luxury item than a need. By the time you buy a XT-3 and add a Metabones you could have just bought a FF camera to start with now in this day and age. Seems silly to me. There are Millions and Millions of good used FF lenses out there. Not so many APSC Fuji ones, even other's that are real standouts. APSC is sort of the Red headed Stepchild of the industry. Only Fuji seems hell bent on it now.
But with the Metabones you can use FF lenses, so that is the conundrum. Ah to have a ton of money.

Hello i just got my xt3 and i feel a bit confused for so many things inside to learn. While starting to study i would like to have some info on accessories i would need
Cards: i have few cards, sandisk sdxc 1,, 10 and 3, 90mb speed(don't know exactly what the difference for the 2 standing) the other is sandisk sdxc 1 only 10, 30mb, then i have another sandisk sdxc 1 that only report a 3
So i suppose the first could be ok to use, the opther are not good enough
Usb c cable, is it worthy to buy it? A film cover for the display also is better to have it?
i have a bunch of minolta rokkor lens, what adapter would you suggest

    I use XT3 for VIDEO!

    thanks a lot

I just look for the cheapest adapter usually, never had an issue. I use a USB-C with a power bank to avoid battery changing. For cards anything V30 works. The SandDisk extreme pro 95mbps or 170mbps work well.

SD cards: either get the San Disk Extreme Pro 95MB/s, Sony M (260MB/s, 100MB/s) or buy into the really expansive stuff, like the best UHS-II cards.
Usb c cable: do you need one? For Power Delivery most of them work, I wouldn't buy into the really expansive once, unless you use to tether which you don't, since you are into video only
Display cover: don't use one, no scratches.
Minolta adapter: doesn't matter, it's just a dummy adapter, get the cheapest one you can.

Another XT3 user and vote here.
Originally with the Fringer Pro adapter and Sigma 18-35mm f1.8 but swapped back to the 18-55 f2.8-4 (plus some Canon f1.8 primes) which is a compromise on being able to capture a very shallow DOF (unless using the primes), but a winner everywhere else.
Also dumped HLG which I dumped Flog for because when trying to grade with DJI products (Pocket, Action and Mavic Air), it's all been a pain in the derriere so shooting tweaked Eterna again.
    Happier.

The A6400 could have been a great contender but the rolling shutter and subpar 1080 is kind of crippling. The 18-55 is really awesome. I don't miss IBIS when I have it on. They also go for really cheap used.

    I'd agree with that.
A7 III ripped a hole in the full frame market pricing and we see a race to the bottom, but Fuji is doing something far more interesting with insane value for money APS-C cameras that simulate the look of film.
The 18-55mm OIS works incredibly well, it's as good at run & gun (great AF, par focal) as it is at cinema.

My biggest beef with e Fuji is lenses or the lack there in. True these is not a lot of cheap Sony FE lenses, but there is a ton of adapters out there for there compared to the Fuji. Plus there is a good upgrade path with Sony, not so much with Fuji. But the XT-3 is a damn nice camera for the money. Not an easy choice.

A73 is going to give you a noise free image past 12,800 iso. Color is pretty good with HLG. Definitely a lot of lens options going into the future like webrunner said.

The XT3 was my camera of choice for its internal 10 bit and high speed recording, as well as its color science. Kind of depends on your needs though.

The XT30 plus the fuji 18-55 is a hell of a combo for anyone on a budget.

Skip more toward the last 1/3 of the video for most of the comparisons. He just mostly states the advantages and weakness of all the cameras. But that is to me a good thing. He is not doing a I got 6 cameras and this is the result thing. It is all verbal. So it might not be too ideal for you.

To call the GH5 unusable at 400 ISO is just ultimately silliness! Even the old GH3 (or GH2! Or GH1!) is just fine at ISO 400.

Lots of people dislike Sony color, though HLG is kind of a work around you can use. An issue with Sony is it uses heavy noise reduction past 1600 iso that causes ghosting and soft mushy skin tones. Gh5 is very usable up to 3200 iso. However its going to have noise at 1600 iso and up. Its pretty pleasant noise at least up to 3200 iso, but its there.

If you are one of those people that obsess over noise I'd definitely recommend the Nikon Z6, A7S2, or Pana S1. Just have to decide what system to invest in. The A73 is also great if you want the latest auto focus, just keep in mind the noise reduction issues it has(may not even be noticeable to you).

I find the XT3 is a great inbetween full frame and M43. Its hard to beat its internal 10 bit recording at up to 400mbps as well as 4k 60p.

    +1 for what @UncleBobsPhotography said.
There are differences between the cameras for sure, and each has strengths and weaknesses.  For example the a73 has great low-light, is FF (which some care about), but Sony is 8-bit in-camera and lenses are quite expensive and although there aren't that many third party lenses, there are fast zooms available (24-70/2.8 etc).  The GH5 isn't as good in low-light, and doesn't have fast zooms available (the 12-35/2.8 is equivalent to a 24-70/5.6 lens on FF so it's not a fast zoom), but it has 10-bit internal, a 5K h265 anamorphic mode that can de-squeeze in-camera, and there are is a large array of native and third party lenses.
I don't know as much about the XT3 but it also has an excellent reputation, having great colour IIRC, so you are right to consider it.
People saying a camera is 'unusable' or 'terrible' have lost any rational perspective, or never had any in the first place.
My advice is to work out what features you are looking for in a camera, and then rank them into features your camera Must Have, Should Have, and Could Have.  Then watch a bunch of reviews and rate each camera against the features you identified, then have a look at which one has more Must Have features, and take price into account and see where that lands you.  Don't forget to consider the entire rig as well: lenses, media, spare batteries, battery grips, chargers, computer to edit footage (h265 from GH5 is very difficult to edit), bitrate and therefore file sizes and the HDD space to store the footage, etc...

While comparing gh5 and xt3 to choose which i prefer, i see now and then some S1 footage that look really amazing. Of course is another price range, but for what i see there is no competition with gh5 and xt3 and certainly deserve some more savings to go for it
I don t see much talk about S1, any opinion?

Go with the GH5. Nothing against the P4K, it’s a great camera but it will require more of a learning curve and more to get her going. With the GH5 you can be up and shooting right out of the box. I think for what you’re looking for, you’ll be grateful to have the IBIS. And the P4K isn’t going anywhere. In 6 months to a year, you can probably get one used for around a thousand or less if you want more of a cinema camera than the GH5.

To answer your first question, I wasn't able to run Fuji H265 files on my laptop without transcoding.  For the BMPCC4K, I can smoothly play and edit BRAW files on my laptop.
The only problem I've had with it is that my video card is only 2GB so I sometimes get Out of GPU memory error messages in Resolve.

My doubt is not referred to the final quality of the image, but to the moment i am using the camera for work.that means facilities, confortable, confident, quick of use, reliability, something that would let me forget about the tecnological tool in fabour of the creative tool

stefanocps got a reaction from Inazuma in cinematic color?
Looking around to buy a nex camera, i come across several video that are presented as "cinematic style" Made with gh5,xt3,bmpcc or whatever their feature is a color that is strongly characterized. I like them and i think i should buy a camera that would allow me to do that.
Then i watch a movie, at cinema or tv and the color is totally different. It is the opposite of what is defined cinematic style in slr videos. In this case colo is true color, natural, as well as light and everyhting else
So what is the cinematic style??
    What is your opinion about?
I want to reach the latter style in  my video, not the first one...

for what i have read 18 55 is a kit lens and it is really good, perhaps one of the best kit kens ever. it has ois and could be very useful for most situation. Then i know lens adpter can be used, surely for vintage ones, perhpas for m43 ones too, but not sure

Yeah the Panasonic has a few features making it really nice for pro work. The XT3 can certainly be rigged up for pro work as well and it definitely is a bit ahead in terms of image quality.
