I would agree with that, but what a said camera has feature wise today, is common technology tomorrow, so, I would rather see this NX1 go the route of making it a camera that has all the basic feature sets first and foremost.

Slo-mo definitely effects the emotional side of us human beings and that is why it's over-used. I see several posts on a FB forum were they all want the NX1 to shoot 240fps, okay, yeah, that would be nice, but that camera needs a lot of other things before it needs that. People are obsessed with slo-mo.

Hmmmm, that never posted? Anyway, If you shot that with the 2.35:1 grid you should get rid of those black bars top and bottom with QT7.

ArellaTV brings up many good points. I still have not connected a NX lens to my NX1, I have been using nothing but classic lenses. Personally, I can't stand a fly-by-wire lens, but if I were to buy a NX lens it would be the 45mm f1.8 it's inexpensive and the IQ is pretty incredible. I shoot nothing but video with this camera, and you can get a nice cinematic image with the older glass because it just seems to take the edge off that 4k sharpness. Not to mention, there are some pretty incredible older lenses that you can adapt to the NX1.

This cage from Motionnine for the NX1 might be worth a look. Right now alls they have is a picture of the cage with no feature details. http://motionnine.com

Nice to know, thanks! I would bet it's probably nothing more than iffmpeg using Rocky Mountain Movie Converters settings. Although I could be wrong, and often am!

Give the Fotasy NIK-NX mount a try. I have three of them and they see to be pretty decent. They can be found on Amazon or Ebay.

Has anyone hooked an external monitor to the NX1 for field work? If so, what model and what is your assessment?
-
Good point, I understand, but that could be said for a lot of cameras, as far as reliable software goes. I read just yesterday of a Sony FS7 issue, you can practically read someone experiencing some issue with whatever camera everyday. I think that's why a lot of people stick with Canon, Nikon, Panasonic, as you don't hear much about software glitches like you do with the newer entries. I'm about to find out if this NX1 is reliable this early spring with an all day shoot.

"You can see what i'm referring to at 00:15 to 00:18. The exposure of the footage slightly increases. I've seen a lot of this happening in footage and am just curious what exactly it is. It also happens again at 01:29 in the 1080p footage." I do see what you're referring to, but if you look at 1:16 -1:24 it looks to me that whoever is clearly making an iris adjustment. I think that is also a slight iris adjustment at 00:18 as it's the same shot.

I just looked at that, and to my eye that is a glitch in the video stream. I would bet his original footage doesn't have that at all. What the others are talking about, was early NX1 users experiencing a flickering when coming into a lighter part of the scene, it would appear the camera made a compensation, which went back and forth and up and down on this site and many other sites, and I really don't know if it was ever determined if it was indeed a camera issue. I know I never experienced it.
-
You'd have to be a lot more specific on that, because I've shot quite a bit with this camera, and I haven't seen any flickering. Link the online footage you're referring to.
-
What would be the defining moment that it would be there? What issues are you referring to?
-
Precisely.

Samsung has dealt with most of the bugs, but the camera still has what I would call Quirks. Pretty much everything that needed to be dealt with has been, now it's just a matter of fine tuning.
-
When you say RAW, I take that as you're looking for the original H.265 file from the NX1 as opposed to a converted ProRes file?
-
I really wouldn't deem that as a bug, more like a tick. You just have to watch what ISO you're shooting at, which I personally always set manually.
-
Apparently, this FW does fix the that floating line issue that many have had. Samsung, keep em' coming!

Pretty interesting camera. I'm not a big JVC fan, but this camera seems to have a lot to offer, as you can put a PL, EF, Nikon, or C mount on the body.

Albert Fast, saw some of your stuff on youtube and I said it there, and I'll say it here, AF has shot some of the better looking footage I've seen from the NX1! Thanks for sharing!
