  1. I don't know where you get the courage to reply to those Sony fanboys LOL. What a bunch but of idiots, I think they have had that privileged to look down to every other MILC users because they were the only one who had full frame, that it must hurt badly that another company could be producing something better. In fact they should be happy, I am sure they are getting 10 bit in the next Sony camera, something they been asking for and been deeply disappointed every-time a new Sony camera has launched. But when Nikon does it, it is not significant. You should perhaps read it again, I saw 144 mbs not 100 mbs.
  2. Yep, I am always annoyed camera moving on tripod head or even gimbal, always have to twist it back a real pain in the ass. Secondly another pain is swamping battery, now just buy some cheap USB C battery bank and shoot for a whole day. Now we just need a small battery cage with some lock mechanism for hdmi, and... power cable, for a rugged and fully functional 70mm FF camera
  3. So from this video something which look really mundane but so important for video camera use, it has a second whole near the tripod mount so tht it does not twist. Small refinment but damn I have been asking for that for ages. You can also power it trhought USB C..... Heahhhhhhhh Af tracking in video
  4. On dpreview they say you can also lock the sensor, so very good for fast action or some gimbal work where IBIS can cause problem, I also read that they specifically made very low breathing in the lens which is good for video.
  5. Smell a lot as a Sony but hurt fanboy, I heard that they were the worse and I can see why. "It was nikon’s chance to release something better than Sony " so tell me where can I buy a Full frame mirrorless camera with 10 bit Slog please? Tell me where can we have 5 stop full frame ibis please. What you should be is happy because now at lease from the now you are sure that all Sony camera will have 10bit and from what I could recall was the number one request/frustration from Sony users. That 10bit is revolutionary for a full frame camera as now it makes your S-log usable and not just a marketing gimmick that is putting Log format in a 8 bit container that needed a lot of work around to be usable. Lastly adding a 5 inch ninja V with it will make it barely the same size as a Nikon D750/D7500 camera with a flash. For a comparable set up you would need to go 30K+ for Full frame 10 bit camera and you would need to to carry something at least 5x the size and weight. WOW, 10 bit Nlog, for me what a surpise, I went to sleep with the latest rumors being same as Nikon D850 but woke up to 10bit Nlog. I would have liked a little bit higher frame rate, but this is near perfect. The closest thing to and Arri Alexa colours and hopefully dynamic range, with good to great autofocus video autofocus with full frame esthetics. Yesssssssssssss
  6. I think we won't be disapointed by the AF. This is Nikon and they won't let Canon dual pixel tech get unanswered for 3+ years. They already had very good video AF on their 5+ year old 1 system. I am curious, where did you get that info?
  7. As a Nikon user, I have decided not to put my expectation too high. So D850 video specs with great video auto-focus and better rolling shutter/low light in the 24 pixel model is what I am expecting, plus all the other good advantage of Mirrorless camera in video like using Evf. The second reason is the Blackmagic pocket 4k. If this camera does not get 10 bit, higher FPS etc, I can use it 90% of the time and the BMPCC 4k with speed booster for those 10% work that will require 10 bit etc.
  8. I was blown away when I saw the hobbit but in a bad way, the super resolution made it look like video and was very distracting, it is as if there was too much detail and your eyes or brain cannot focus as much on the subject, emotion or whatever portrait by the character. Perhaps hyper reality looses that dreamy kind of what film should look like. A little disapointed for the size of the screen, I thought we would get a $+ inch screen for video/live view shooting and touch screen use. But perhaps it was too much to expect from a MILC that already have reputation of lower battery life. Lets hope we will get great eye, face subject auto tracking autofocus.
  9. https://nikonrumors.com/2018/08/20/what-if-the-nikon-d3400-gets-replaced-by-a-mirrorless-aps-c-camera-with-f-mount.aspx/ There is this last rumor coming out of nowhere about a future Nikon D3000 (lowest denominator in the Nikon lineup) camera coming soon, still with the traditional Fmount and Mirror Less. I guess if it is not competing branch in the Nikon management/engineers coming out at the same time. I always thought that Nikon would move its consumer APSC line first to Mirrorless, because when you think about it, it is much cheaper to manufacture a Mirrorless camera than a dslr. You add and evf but get rid of the mechanical mirror mechanism, penta-mirror and AF module. You also won't be getting people complaining that the grip is too small, or where the AE button has been removed or that their 30 years old lens doesn't work well on it.
  10. https://nikonrumors.com/2018/08/19/more-nikon-mirrorless-camera-rumors-free-adapter-better-sensor-than-the-d850-shipping-starts-in-november.aspx/ So latest rumors are in. Those are a bit confusing, says adapter more or less free and lens will have some kind of Fresnel making them work faster than their actual Fstop.

    Elon Musk

I love Tesla and what Elon Musk is doing, but I hate Tesla fanboys like on electrek.co website.
  12. From my own analysis, image resolution for photo and video should never be compared. Yours eyes can analyse a photo for hours if you want, while video is just superposition that moves perpetually. That's why true 2k looks so good in cinema image that are much bigger than any photograph, the first thing as it is moving so fast you cannot scan it (eyes brain) and secondly it is like those smartphone that stack image just move half or quarter pixel and a 12 mp image becomes a 36 etc. Another test is when you look a a freeze frame of a video it looks so much less detailed that when it moves. Latest image (mock up) from a true sample NR cannot show. The 16.9 screen bodes well for Nikon emphasis on video in this new Camera.
  13. So from latest rumor, as I predicted it has a much bigger screen that traditional cameras. It would be at least 4 inch or even bigger which bodes well for video and touch screen use. Since they showed the first video and that it was obvious it had that gigantic mount, I knew they were going completely out of the box. https://nikonrumors.com/2018/08/12/this-is-how-the-back-of-the-nikon-mirrorless-camera-looks.aspx/#more-124550
  14. WOW, I am speechless. So you are still sticking about those old screw lens when 95+ percent of Nikon lens have very fast in body motor. They even have introduce stm lens in there latest DX and one FX that already focus a bit faster in video than there current one. If you think Nikon D5 -D850 autofocus is not very very good, then objectivity is not your strong point, you should replace all these pro sport photographers. That mount will give them two very important advantage compared to the Sony lens mount. For one the sensor will be able to move much more than in the Sony ones that will give much better IBIS. Secondly it will give them the ability to produce much faster lens as the NOCT .95 strongly rummored prime and also the coverage of the sensor will be much more easy to have better edge to edge sharpness, vignetting etc. There will undoubtedly a big fight for the ML cameras, but now Sony won't have a monopoly at all and its market share will stagnate or from what I believe decrease.
  15. Its been at least two decade they have not done screw driver motor lens, their lens have been stellar in optics and focus speed that is why it is used by most pros with Canon. The thing is most Nikon lens in photography are good enough for 4k which is only 8 megapixel. Today's discussion is not if they are good enough for 4k but 45 megapixel monsters like the D850, so we are long gone pass a measly 8 megapixel in Nikon world.
  16. Sorry unless you want all your photo to have motion blur it is far from that easy. What about flash, are you going to carry something like a 300-1000 watt led light with batteries etc when you can have just a speed-light or two. Another misconception about photography, when you have to edit for example a wedding, you have to watch every shot then decide if it is good or bad then cut it t remove unwanted part etc. This is already tedious, not doing it at 24,25 or 30 fps, but one frame at a time, good luck with that.
  17. I personally don't think Nikon is the sharing type, where they have an opportunity that arise every 50 years to sell many more lens than they usually do with the whole Nikon usserbase migrating to the new lens mount. They are taking a risk alienating a lot of their user base who have multiple thousand dollar of Fmount lens that they have acquired sometimes for decade. It is a risk they are taking and I think they want to be rewarded for that. The thing is that I think one of the reason they have taken so much time is to have a good upgrade path trough a very good adapter for existing lens. They cannot come out with flagship Level camera (rumored pricing) with only 3 usable lens.
  18. From the rumors which have been very accurate, there are two camera released with a 45 ff at about 4k with the 24-70 f4 kit lens and Another one in the 24-25 megapixel at 3k with the kit lens. Considering Nikon pricing, that lens would easily cost about $ 800, so putting it at the same as the D850 and the 24 megapixel one near the 2k price of the A73. I think they are going to do a parrallel line and releasing the FF line and at this cost is clearly a statement that they are going for the pro/enthusiast high end market. I think at this stage they don't care about cannibalizing their DSLR line of camera becaue in the end, in the next 10 years they could get so much more money out of these users transitioning to the new mount.
  19. I fact I think it will be complete opposite. Nikon will move much faster to replace its low end apsc line with Mirror less camers for two reasons. The first one is that most of people buying these D5300-D5600 even to the D7000 line of camera only buy it with a kit lens. These people won't be complaining that their 1990 prime lens doesn't meter or autofocus are not working on these cameras. Secondly it is cost and size. I mirror less camera doesn't need a mirror, prim and af module and all the moving mechanism, it adds only a small screen for the EVF. Also thay can go very small size and no one is going to complain that it is too small or not ergonomic etc. My guess is that the D850 and D5 category will have at least one more iteration and a life span of another decade because these users are the one who will be more reluctant to move from the nikon f-mount because they might still want ovf and have multipe thousands in lens. If Nikon doesn't offer at least 10 bit, I think the BMPC 4k will complement the Nikon mirrorless well because these type of work won't need AF and IBIS and super slowmotion.
  20. I personally think they will. They didn't wait that long for nothing and I might seem stupid but I am judging that camera by the look. In fact it is about the size, one of the big problem that have plagued the Sony's has been ergonomic and overheating. This camera seems a bit bigger, which will give better ergonomics and more space for heat dissipation without being as big as a DSLR like the D750. That doesn't mean that they will not introduce much smaller apsc version that will be targeting D5300-D5600 buyers that will want pocket-able cameras. In the end for full frame camera, ultra small size is a bit moot because the FF lens will make big. The second thing also is about size and now it is about the mount size. This thing is so big that my guess is that they will come with IBIS as good as the Panasonic cameras, because the sensor will be able to move much more than the Sony's. The second thing about this big lens mount is that they will be able to do faster unique lens like the patented Noct .95 lens and or easier quality lens as thy won't have to bend the light that much to make it pass through a smaller size mount. The last thing is AF, many people forget that they already had a good on sensor Pdaf system in the Nikon 1 mirroless, even if it was on a much smaller sensor, I think they have progress enought since 2011-2015 to get it good in FF in 2018.
  21. I think all this has been intentional link. There are just too much of them coming out and she apparently is a famous actor in china.
  22. For pro work on the field, I would favor practicality and ergonomic over looks or older design usability style. Now it is just a start I guess there will be smaller more simpler model, more so in the apsc line.
  23. By all account from Nikon Rumors, it will be very close in size and ergonomic to the Panasonic G9.
  24. So that's the latest teaser from Nikon, what it is confirming is that the size of the Mount will be huge, could fit a hasselblad 44x43 mm sensor. But I think this will give is much better IBIS for full frame camera and some unique lens like .95 Noct primes that they have patented. The more I think about this new Nikon Mirrorless Nikon camera is that the saying that Nikon might be late but when they come, they come with a bang. No one was guessing that this new mount would be that big and the more you think about it, the more it looks like a move that will last for another half a century at least. My guess is that Sony will be in big trouble, in this range of Mirrorless cameras and will have to see what Canon comes out next.
