Nikon D lenses have crappy focus rings, and an autofocus so slow and loud you don't want to pay for it. Another reason is that they usually have new optical formulas and some of them are worse than the ai-s. Just check http://www.naturfotograf.com/index2.html

I don't think contax lenses are that great. The 80 2 is super soft, the 45 2.8 is so so, the 35 3.5 is good. I don't see they are much better than mamiya glass (which btw, isn't that bad and totally usable for video or with a speedbooster, obviously not for 100mp 645).

Any 645 glass will work just fine on FF, but a little bit boring when used cropped. You will not gain quality, maybe even loose a little wide open. The mamiya 55 2.8 for example will give ugly bokeh compared to a Fullframe 55 2.8 lens, because it's a cheap wideangle lens. Btw, you can't control aperture on contax 645 lenses because they are electronic.

Should I wait for a blackmagic price Cut this summer?

The Alexa 65 is rental only -
A mini C300.

Some pretty crazy shots in there, very nice indeed

That thing looks massive ^^, once the technology is mature it will take over in CG movies.

There can be differences between sensors, for example in the filter arrays which lead to differences in color separation and even noise performance. I will probably get the a7ii because of ibis and cheap body. I only like to shoot at iso 100 and the ibis will let me do that 90% of the time.

Kind of offtopic question: Do raw stills from sonys also have a problem with color? I still haven't ditched my d800, but I'm going to and replace it with a a7x, for stills. I know there can be big differences between same sensor technology, the d7000 for example looked totally wrong when compared to the d800, and their sensors are the almost the same generation from sony,so any info would benappreciated.

Imho, I would stick to f2 lenses. For example, if going with ai-s, 24 2 (the worst of the list), 28 2, 35 2, 50 2, 55 2.8 macro, 85 2 and 105 1.8 or 105 2.5.

If you go nikon, go ai-s not af d.

You can't even imagine how much I envy you and your aptus, how much did you pay for it if it's ok to ask

But that's the micro which you are betatesting like all early adopters do with blackmagic stuff, giostrante has a pocket.(yes, the thread is about the micro :))
-
Yep, slightly different if not the same, or maybe he gets a defective one :S

Filmmaker is the standart text that the forum places there, mr professor. If you take a look at bioskops file, open it in photoshop, turn off color noise removal and push one stop (iso 1600) you will see the same noise you have. You can take any camera and put it into equivalent iso (iso 4800-6400 for fullframe) and you will see the same noise in shitty light. Have fun, I've seen this noise debates on dpreview for years, it's always the same story. a cookie if you need one for your ego.
-
The funny part is when the camera comes back and the noise is still there while doing stress tests, but we won't see that post on the forum. (and I'm not talking about zaks fixed pattern noise)

Larger CCDs seem to have trouble with liveview/video, no idea why, but the CCD era is over. The focal reducer from baveyes will be released in April (that's what they told me at Kipon)

This is a video recorded from the phase one 100mp back, which is most likely the same sensor as the hasselblad. And now that I have rewatched it, the rollingshutter doesn't look that bad.

Rogue One Trailer - Alexa 65 and Panavision 70mm lenses

The heightful eight was film, but the panasonic lenses stuff could be the same. The low streching anamorphic lenses. I say so because the blur looks anamorphic. -

Same setup as The hateful eight? -
A lot of people are using RED for stills/video in a studio setup (eating away market from hasselblad), so they will probably have done a good raw video implementation. But I doubt the rollingshutter will be different from the PhaseOne.
-
It will be probably the same as the videos I sent you from the phaseone, so the problem is rolling shutter. Anyway, the speedbooster for the A7 is coming this or next month Another source says 4K raw... Btw, there is a new sony rumor about an A9 with a decent sized 1Dxii/d5 style body.

1080p Raw video? I will have to plan on a way to rob a shop or something

That's not the shitlight I'm talking about. Shitlight is when they do iso/noise tests without any lightsource except lightpollution from under a door or some streetlight and believe it or not, that's the way they make most forum/youtubers tests. The idea behind most of these is that the or a camera that looks better in that condition will work better in real photo/video situations. But that's just misleading.
-
Shitlight is always going to look shit, with and without noise. If shitlight performance were what seperates cameras they would shoot blockbusters with gopros because they don't have shitlights there.
