When premiere imports the files, does it do any transformation? If not you might want to try copying the thing on the CF again in the same place where it's supposed to be and unlock it inside the camera. I have never used a 1dc, but it might be worth the try if it's doable.

It was used as "Techicolor monpack" and in 8mm cameras.

If the d5 had good 4K they might feel the pain, but....

A right angle viewfinder with a carboard crop stuck in between might work, I fast searched google but there seems no option for the a7rii. (The FDA-A1AM might work). Just and idea, never tried this myself.

6 stops difference, if the base iso is 800 than f22 pushed should be iso 51200. In a real test you would match the exposure.

Kodachrome hasn't been used in movies forever, on stills it died definitely five years ago.

Nikon D5 versus Canon 1D C for cinematic 4K video - which wins?
Nikkor replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
Well remember that the canon 1DC is a dedicated video camera, the 1DX is not and that's what the nikon is. I keep insisting on the Active D-lighting, this sounds like some marketing shit, but it means that the processor is very powerful and can give some serious DR on 8 bit files, depending on how it's programmed to adapt (flikering?) it will be something very interesting. It's only for 1080p, but together with a custom picture profile this will give images that don't need grading. -
Comparison of those two 28 2, please These nikkors have a special first element designed for good close up performance (CRC), I first thought this was some marketing gag from the time, but It's really true. When you photograph something rather close, like less than 2 meters, it will pop. I have the nikkor 35 2, the first version (the newer ones changed and aren't that nice), and it has some kind of 3D feel on people close ups. The only thing is that they have bad corners in these situations on far out of focus things on FF, but you won't see that when cropping to 1.85:1 or 2.35:1, or using s35 crop.

One quick question Bror, do you know if the adapter introduces shadowing on fullframe sensors?

That's total bullshit, I also work on video games sometimes, as a freelance. On a console game you can get away with upscaling, but on PC you won't and games look best if rendered 4K and then downscaled, better than any Anti Aliasing. Another story is 4K for TV's and compressed broadcast, I don't see the point as long as the 1080p footage is supersampled.

I have been a Nikon shooter all my life, the funny thing is that I intuitively turn it in the wrong direction many times, and there is no fucking way on fixing this in my brain, there has to be something about it.
-
But they focus "the other way" around.

I like the new ones , the grip and the shutter button specially, but I'm going cheap this time. Thanks for the answers

If you can't buy proper lenses ,the d750 is sort of pointless.
-
So finally I made up my mind, with the medium format speedbooster around the corner and the canon ts-e 17mm that has no nikon counterpart I think it's the best option for me. I'm getting the A7 as it's cheap and I won't be doing any videos with a sony (once I sold my big nikons and af lenses I will be left with a d5200 and my vintage glass for that, crappy web streaming doesn't need anything else) My main doubt is about ef adapters, I will need at least two, I don't need af, just aperture control and precise infinity. What would be the best-cheap option? I will also need a nikon f adapter for ai-s (no need for the G). My main concern is precision and a good lock mecanism (the spring I have in my ef to f adapters is horrible, are they all like that?).
-
Personally I don't think that's a good plan, they are good lenses but the ones you already have aren't bad either and having a single one of those on the gh4 crop is totally pointless.
-
Totally depends on the price. The 28 2 is the same design as the hollywood as far as I know.
-
Oh lol, I meant canon,nikon,etc... big players opposed to blackmagic.
-
Imagine the big players took their heads out of their anuses, any modern camera could look like an alexa (or almost).
-
You don't get take them to see the movie together, but to see it with you The good thing is that neither you or them will have to pay for their tickets.
-
I was expecting a great movie but I was glad when it was over.

Just out of curiosity, how does a good "church video" look like. If you want a nice long focal length for that nikon the nikkor 180 2.8 pre-ai goes for absolutely nothing and is good enough for 1080p.
