Canon is selling tons of overpriced glass and outdated sensors, every single manufacturer would love to be in canons shoes. They even have thousand of users on internet forums that are convinced that a magenta cast coming from channel scaling is something positive. A professional canon setup costs the same or more than a professional medium format setup, and it only performs better in sports, for the rest the performance is an order of magnitude worse, but still canon is a lot more successful.
I might be wrong but I think the eosm was too slow to write the whole apsc frame so the 720p raw is a crop, so if you go with the speedbooster you will end up with something less than Fullframe.
Looks impressive (probably the best out there), but I wonder how bad the rolling shutter is. If they make a gh5 like that it will be a must have, no more alien colors.
I think what rich is doing is great, it won't take too long until we will see hollywood movies shot on one of his lenses, I can see the alexa65 benefiting a lot from his knowledge.
If you want to try something akward but which could give you the best quality possible, find a bronica nikkor-p 80 2.8, the back diameter of your sankor should match the front lens exactly. This lens has no helicoid and there are no adapters available, but since you have the rangefinder you could find some hardcore hot glue solution (gluing some extension tube to the lens).
You have to use lenses with small front diameters, otherwise you might even get ghost images from the corners that are seeing outside the anamorphic lens.
Just buy a cheap ass helios 44-2 which is 58mm and is probably the widest you want to go. The 35mm enny is talking about are a mystery to me, I'd like to see some samples.
Sometimes your posessions start eating you alive, specially if you don't use them. I plan on selling a lot of stuff too, so the cameras don't make me nervous. It's a total win, lots of fresh cash, more space, less choice more fun, free mind.
