  1. In 10 years you will notice awful colors and relate them to this period, among motion qualities,etc...
  2. Dual iso on the new a7000. 15.5 stops. http://www.sonyalpharumors.com/sr3-sony-a7000-is-the-first-e-mount-camera-with-15-5-stops-on-sensor-hdr/ Hmmm, I'm tempted, let's hope it works in 4k and in slog2
  3. On sonyalpharumors there is a news post stating that the a77 aps-c has a 1-2 stop advantage over the a7ii, this probably means that the a7rii is going to kick some ass even with its 42mp.
  4. Bokeh and rendering, classic 50mm 1.4 tend to have very busy bokeh and ugly spherical aberrations, at 58mm it gets a little bit better, at 85mm it starts to get nice and at 100mm its perfect. This is with classic fullframe glass, but it also applies to modern stuff to some point. Anyway, check flickr for lenses and decide for yourself.
  5. If you are going for portraits I would recommend 58mm lenses that usually are smoother than 50mm ones.
  6. I don't think there is such a limit, if a pixel could store indefenetily without saturating or continiously write the data you could have as much DR as you want. Overexposed Portra 160 has some crazy lattitude because it has a lot of lattitude in both directions (over and underexposed), more than the d800, it has some obvious colorshift but it's very pleasant, you can expose for the shadows and scan or even develop for the highlights and get something like 16 stops or more (with "strange" colors).
  7. Even with a 16stops camera, shitty light will always look shitty.
  8. It will be sharper, but the a7s is a totally different beast, Used, Personally I don't think I will ever buy something new again, years ago you would buy a camera and it wouldn't be outdated for a long time, nowdays it takes 6 months to loose 40% of price. http://www.ebay.de/itm/Sony-Alpha-ILCE-7S-A7S-Body-Alpha-7s-Alpha-7-S-HDCam-4K-/321755096834?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_77&hash=item4aea192702
  9. I have seen the sony a7s selling on ebay for 1600€, and I guess it will keep getting cheaper. Add the 28-70 which can be bought very cheap, and then get some manual glass. Just an idea.
  10. There are webpages where you can upload a jpg and find out (one straight out of the camera), you can also see it in photoshop. Google is your friend.
  11. They won't give you any additional "cine-look" , these are stills lenses with cine-gears.
  12. Forum-communities were a lot different back then, as was the internet, the people who used it and how they used it. Its been only 10 years but back then the internet was a wasteland without imterestig content, forums were oasis (as were the mailing lists before)
  13. This forum is so much better without these thousands of subforums and 00' functions and looks.
  14. what lenses? Any vignetting problems?
  15. Single player games just are becoming a thing of the past. I takes too much work/money compared to multiplayer games. A csgo map can be done in two weeks and user will spent thousands of hours on it, on the other hand a single player chapter takes a lot more time and the user will play through it in 20min... I'm still hoping for hl3 anyways.
  16. 18-35 f2 would have been the next top lens for photojournalysts.
  17. Film 65mm was a pain in the ass and very expensive, most cinemas were 35mm and there was no point spending 5x or more on film and processing just to project some used cheap copies of it. Filming with an alexa65 is basically the same as filming with a regular one, quality of course will be better (you dont think Arri would make a bigger camera if there wasnt a difference, well maybe some will as has been proven in many topics).
  18. Thats why nobody uses hdr for landscapes. Sunsets (landscape clichee) are low DR situations, you dont need more than 10 stops for that.
  19. I believe they were having some heat trouble with the a7000.
  20. The lowlight performance will be the same if not better as with the 36mp a7r when comparing the same sensor area. I wouldnt be surprised if its the same at pixel level.
  21. Most projector lenses have a locking screw/s
