There is also the nikkor 17-55 2.8 for aps-c cameras. It goes for around 450€ but at that price the sigma 18-35 1.8 starts to look more apealing to me.

Very nice, camera and lenses ?;)

have u faked ANAMORPHIC look and happy w results

You can try to look for an ultra low contrast lens and some oval aperture insert. It's not the same but it's like using a normal lens without spending tons of money and all the pain in the ass of double focus (because the SLR magic one doesn't give the real anamorphic feeling). Just take a piece of black cardboard cut a 52mm diameter circle (you said nikkors), now cut an oval shaped hole in the middle. Take that and put it infront of one of your fast nikkors. Real anamorphic lenses give this moody unreal feeling, spherical doesn't give you that particular mood. -
One thing, the distortion on faces comes because of perspective not because of distortions of the lens. Just try to close one eye and get close to the face of someone, your brain corrects any distortion but the perspective is still there and it will look akward. This is why some people say that wideangle closeups are "intimate". Let's say that the most natural perspective is with the 50mm. A shot done with a 50mm on FullFrame will be natural because when viewed in a normal sized screen/viewing-distance relation it has the same perspective as your eyes watching the scene through a rectangle and being at the same place where the camera is placed. When going above 50mm it gets a closeup, or the way you would remember something where you concentraded on details while sitting away in a confortable distance.

I would remove the part about sensitive goverment intel and the google maps thing. It's sort of a "excusatio non petita, accusatio manifesta". A serious business offers its adress, the name, and offers payment through visa and/or paypal which covers fraud intents. Something you already do.

The same way everybody can read your post, anybody can answer them. If you want to talk to John Barlow personally you can PM him, nobody will comment on that unless somebody publishes these conversations (like this: http://www.eoshd.com/comments/topic/7842-dog-schidt-optiks-threatens-motion-six/). Get used to it. What's your motivation anyway? Warning people that John barlow is an evil man and that nobody should buy his products? Revenge of some kind of sort? I don't get it, and since this is some kind of community after all, I will answer to that kind of shit.

Right now he is openly selling his product here, if Andrew doesn't like it he will tell him so. Back then John Barlow was taken off moderation, had to hear all kind of things like his product was shitty and people downrating his topic, and that's where that story ended. Now you come and try to pull of the same (minus you not being moderator), so don't get so upset at that gtfo.

Lol at cosimo, this thread has been open and being update for months. Now suddenly when john seems to have reached a point of a mature product which leaves every other solution in the dust you come and write that comment. gtfo

Birdman was great, I haven't seen "Unbroken" but between the rest I think Birdman should get that one. I never thought wideangle could look that good, beside the whole secuence-shot thing.

without battery its totally useless, they would never sell something like that. Anyway, if want to use manual glass its still far from perfect, but it can be done, just try before buy.
-
oh man, you didnt have a battery inside the d5300, without the battery the ovf turns dark and out of focus...
-
Great job, this is actually looks usable and its "cheap".

It's just another of these rumors, like the om-d 4k or gh4 raw but hey. Speaking to Sony rep at CES, he indicated H.265 may be coming to A7x platform. In theory, this could allow A7S to output 4K (H.265) to the SD card due to the lower bitrate possibility. Would eliminate the requirement for external HDMI recorder for 4K, as long as you are OK with the H.265 compression. http://www.sonyalpharumors.com/sr2-wild-rumor-h-265-coming-to-the-a7s-to-allow-internal-4k-recording/

I was really surprised when I saw the d800 and the d600 in that list as they use the old expeed which is not arm. I hope that the flat picture profile is more than just a curve and that it fixes the poor highlights. I'm also pretty excited because of the rawhistograms as they will give nikonhacker more clues on how the expeed works (maybe raw).

Does it also happen in After Effects?

Enjoy your mac.

The cambo setup is great for stiching and tecnical lens setups (photography), but it's expensive and bulky. A mirex tilt and shift adapter should be cheaper http://www.mirex-adapter.de/tilt_shift_adapter.htm and portable.
-
If you are looking for the lens, the canon 24 ts-e ii is the best one, there is no way around it (the samyang would be the cheap option). For 45mm the nikon seems to be better, but at that focal length you can use shift adapters and medium format lenses which is way cheaper and which opens up a whole new world of cheap great optics. There is also the canon ts-e 17mm which is pretty amazing if you think of it (rectilinear, 17mm, big image circle...). If you want it to shoot people, a simple camera pan/tilt with a normal lens is better as it doesn't give them strange deformations.

The great thing about the d5500 is that the price of the d5300 will go down even further.

I don't know if the ps4 has hardware for it, but in this case it's an hardware player http://store.sony.com/sony-4k-ultra-hd-media-player-zid27-FMPX10/cat-27-catid-All-Internet-Players

It's hardware.

The article is interesting but when you think of actual film cameras they will show the same aliasing (rotary shutter), unless maybe reciprocity failure could have any visible effect on this...
