The d600 has the same shitty expeed processing as the d800 and the d7000,d5100. The image in videomode doesn't have the same look as the newer nikons because that processor had serious bottlenecks and cripples the highlights and a few other things.

Horrible video, only for photos. Btw, the low light performance on line skipping sensors is always lower (1-2stops)

Well, get the nikkor 70-200 2.8 VRI, it's never really sharp but always good looking. Strange lens. But honestly, the real zeiss cinema lenses are terribly sharp at every stop. And 65mm films look filmic to me, try to find any 65mm lens that is not super sharp from f4 onwards (65mm would mean f8-f11 to achieve the "cinema dof")

Ebay.

Why buy in the US when you are in France?
-
Daniel these lenses go for less than 150$, you just have to be patient. The modern nikon 35 1.8 is also cheap and nice (almost covers FF) and it's pretty cheap, but you need an adapter that lets you change aperture.
-
That's the cheapo version that has a different optical formula. The one you want is the 28 2.8 Ai-s. Look on google how to differentiate ai-s from others.

No, it's just that they found a way (they gained access to it) to tell the HDMI chip to output 4:4:4, but the processing engine (expeed) that feeds the hdmi chip is still doing whatever it was doing before.

That video is fucking amazing, thanks for sharing.

The cuts are much too fast. Try to nail the focus and try to avoid shaky movements. The edit seems like a fast cut trough the wedding, showing 2.5secs of every single thing happening one after another. Try to go for rythm, keep important and emotional secuences longer, and details or less imporant stuff shorter,etc... Some wideshot closeups following the movements also work nice to change the rythm a little bit.

On a 1920x1080 screen the header takes up 18% vertical space. But as a user you can always do the "ctrl" + "-" and zoom out, but it looks ugly.

Big news - Samsung NX1 with 4K, 24p and **H.265 HVEC codec**
Nikkor replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
I want to see some footage with all the processing turned off, it should look super clean in the lower isos because the image is supersampled so it's true 4K. -
I would buy an isco ultra star or wait for a decent priced kowa to pop up on ebay (200$,but you have to be patient and get lucky -kowa 16h,8z-).

You said a few things there Ken but they lead to nothing. I think I only have 3 lenses that don't resolve the 36MP sensor, and that would be the super old nikkor 50 1.4 @ 1.4, and the 2 nikon zooms, the 28-70 and the 70-200 in the corners and at full aperture. I don't think there is any lens out there that can't resolve 1080p properly, benefits from good glass comes in form of better general contrast. An anamorphic lens doesn't change that. The limiting factor have been the recording formats, where the anamorphic stretch looked better to the eye than cropping into the blurry mess, but that's almost gone. I second Rich's experience with my d800 ,the ultra star and tons of old and new glass while taking stills.

Imagine the kind of 70' opening zoom you could do with that ^^. New York city panorama zooms to a window and continues to zoom onto a handwriting, that's some clichee.

The sun is already behind the mountain but tomorrow I will show you some example. Anyway, this is with very strong ND's that tint and light up with sunlight shining on them, for normal use the low contrast filters should be much better but I haven't used them.

Well the lx100 seems like the most handy option, but still quLity wise it wont be that far away from the typical rebel/entry level dslr. The A7 is a nice camera and it looks like the price goes down a little bit more every week, downside os that the video sucks, but the stills will be great with the kit 24-70 4 and you can use all that classic glass plus focus peaking (you could use all that glass on your bmpcc with a speedbooster).
-
What kind of photography are we talking about?
-
You got a working mature setup, I wouldn't dump it unless you replace it with another mature one. The A7'x are the first generation of a new system. Personally I don't think you would be better off with a A7R+A7S combo, unless you go for portable.

Butcher and old DV camera and tape it on to your gh4.

Haha, the fact is that I can post this if I want to, and it only takes me a couple of seconds. And no one is disaproving your price, just saying that these lenses have started to be going for much less (iscoramas are cheaper now too, even if you see some offerings for 9000€).
-
The one that got sold also were in new condition, you probably bought one of these. Just put it on ebay for 600$, there you won't get any comments of people hinting about much better deals.

Dear BM community manager (because you seem to pop up whenever BM is mentioned on this forum), sooner or later open source is going to put BM out of business. (the under 5000$ camera business) You can see how that DR works in practice with the BM 4K production camera, then there are the other chips you can order. Seems the same as BM offerings, doesn't it? Just open source, so you don't have to pray for someone to fix it, you can do it yourself.
