You don't need the shutter to take videos, tape it.

"There will be a big marketing push to show the video recording capabilities of the new D750 (this already started with the D810) - I've heard also about 4k video recording, but I am not sure Read more on NikonRumors.com: http://nikonrumors.com/2014/09/06/what-to-expect-from-nikon-for-photokina.aspx/#ixzz3CYrusNvh" If this thing really has 4K, silent shutter and peaking (last two things are coming out of my wishful thinking). I will dump my D800 for it 100%, even if I have to loose some pixels.
-
Well this sensor will have to be something special, because no current method they are using will give them anything near 4K. If they go with the d5200.etc method it will only reach 3000pixels wide, it would need to read out the whole 24mp sensor and downsample that data from 6000 pixels to 3840 pixels, that would be the best picture you can actually get, totally noise free at low isos. I really want that, but I doubt it. Maybe it gives 4K in DX mode...

Well don't be so shure about the 5dmkiv, the 7dmkii is rumored to be 1080@60, Canon will have to do some extra homework.
-
Well if you story about the gx7 is true and you have no way of repairing it you might try to remove the shutter by hand.
-
I saw a video of yours taken with the gx7 and it looked pretty good to me, I would rather stay with that and wait for something better.
-
Inazuma, it's not going to look sharper than your gx7.

There is never going to be focus peaking through the hacks, right now they have no way to program things for themselfs, they just modify the existing code.

And it doesn't have to be mirrorless, they just could stop making them so gigantic. Big is good for a lot of things, but a small option would be great. Just look how small,"fullframe" with mirror and f-mount: http://www.threeguyswithcameras.com/2013/11/three-guys-first-thoughts-nikon-df They just have to optimize the space needed for the sensor, and the screen. -
This looks like the 2 diopter solution.

Official announcement - Metabones Speed Booster ULTRA
Nikkor replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
Well, this one lens for mirrorless cameras, I think it is 40mm 0.85, seems to me like a rehoused 645 lens with a 0.5x focal reducer inside. It's only a matter of time. Actually you do have the elements needed to do a speedbooster at home, the only problem is that you can't use it with wideangle lenses and that the quality is limited. -

The MFT version has nothing to do with this. The MFT version performs better than the old APS-C version, that's why they came up with this one. -

Nice to see an update. Could you place this one in front of the A7 or A7r forcing fullframe mode and without a lens attached to see how much vignetting happens? Maybe this one can cover fullframe and use medium format glass. I'm asking because improving corner performance can be done by increasing image circle. -
Did you use the Impluz Kodak Vision3 500T 5219 lut? I always find it too reddish, is that stock really that red? Otherwise great!
-
Actually if you put a smaller aperture in front of the lens and not too far away, it will act like stopping down. So it doesn't only take away light transmission, it also widens the dof. You can try this out. Let's see what John comes up with, he got the guts to do it.

I think if I got it right, this method should be able to surpass the Iscorama, and it's also capable of giving variable stretch.

Lighfield sensors and lenses, software stabilisation,etc... Promising plastic future...

Looks very good, I didn't expect the front elements to work so good. Actually you don't need anything else to do an oldschool anamorphic video.

I think they made a deal with Sony, trading the 5axis technology for Sony sensor knowhow.

PICS: Comparing the complete set of Rokinon cine-style lenses at 4K

The 85 1.4 stills version is also nice for the price. But that focal length screams for fullframe. -
The 70D is a no go, specially for landscape video and stills (poor DR, horrible moire, softness,etc...)
