are you hawing any issues or problems like that black sun spot and what iso can you chose from
-
So black Magic cameras after all that time work and hype they still have problems man you would think that they would sit down take 4k and fix all those issues and add more options i was hopping its like they come up with good idea and stop half the way and once in a while when interest kicks in they release the update. I would jump all over this cam if they actually did this but i cant trust them

christopher nolan film school is only good for making contacts and friends. MAN you are going to spend shit load of money on this film school not counting living cost. Take that money buy some pro gear stay home and make an actual film you can learn script and story writing your self make some short films get good at it and them make a full feature film . Unless you are rich and you can waste money te go to film school and just waste time which money cant buy.

PS not my stills just the still from the guy that i got the camera from and that is not me just showing the weight of the camera can be stripped down

Was thinking all winter abut 4k but with all the problems black magic 4k is hawing i got my self used and complete red one mx for $3100 Canadian dollar new chip installed 98 h on it serviced by red and approved 4.5k raw 120fps at 2k 13 stop+ dynamic range and so on. Reason i got this camera is because i want to take my skills of film making to next step I know some people will say it big heavy and all that crap image is not as good as blahh blah but if you go basic setup its really manageable but for the image and quality that i will get i am reedy to work hard this camera is a work horse. i ownt be shooting doc but i will be in controlled environment be in in or outside. If this camera was good enough for fincher to shoot Girl with dragon tattoo and Steven Soderbergh to shoot Che its good enough for me. As you can see below that what i got for 3100 i mean can you beat that price and another image is simple setup for red mx. I would spend more money by buying black magic 4k and all the other staff same with 5d mark 3 which is 3000 just for body here in Canada. I mean this is for me it might not work for other but it works for me. Some ungraded images straight from camera 2k and at 7500 color temp to me they look so film i don't think consumer camera can give you what red can give you straight out of camera that film look that we all try to achieve with plugins grading. But what do i know i am just getting in to this mambo jumbo

my rig 12 ft to infinity forcu dam nice and sharp lens not to sharp like video has a fell to it like film i can put 35mm and up is it heavy not relly once you get use to it i am not after look how cool my rig is as you can see my rig is ghetto it does the job but i am after image. The image i get from this baby is dam nice and sharp i wen through many anamorphic lenses sankors iscos gold ones but they wore to sharp like broadcast news or do soft like sankor. They say dont use big lenses but i say if you are on budget and don't have 3000 to 7000 for Iscorama the by all mean go with big lens my lens as as good as those expensive ones even better but if you dont mind size and close focus then by all mean go with big lens

Just get arri Alexa or red dragon get what you can afford man and learn how to tell story and art of film making all the cameras are shit if you cant tell a story if i was you i would get black magic 2.5k comes with resolve and bunch of ssd from ebay that 4k crap everybody is masturbating about is bull shit yes yes i know you can stabilize and track and do other shit with 4k but if you need to stabilize u image then maybe rethink you shoot. 4 k is way out there nobody can afford 4k monitors now 4k is like 3d all the hype but we don't really care if you shoot on 4k WHAT WE CARE IS CAN YOU TELL A STORY? CAN YOU KEEP ME INTERESTED blah blah blah blah its a PENIS i mean BOY HERE Black Magic Camera 2.5K + SDI/HDMI converter + Rig + Sony Battery Kit 2.5k davinchi resolve for your raw grading ALL $2000 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Black-Magic-Camera-2-5K-SDI-HDMI-converter-Rig-Sony-Battery-Kit-/331496976369?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4d2ec26ff1

Hi guys there is much talk about camera gear but what i don't hear is monitor or what we use, which is as important or even more when it comes to final output. What i learned so far properly calibrated monitor is critical for color correction of our short films, music videos or what ever even for web. I know that dedicated color monitor are expensive ranging from $4000 like FSI monitors to Dolby PRM-4220 40 to 50k. I can be technology junkie and properly calibrated monitor is really important to me, i have Dell Ultra sharp u2410 10 bit ccfl for the past few days i have been trying to calibrate this monitor as close to REC 709 for HD and color correcting as possible and so far results have been really good you can only calibrate this monitor in standard mode since custom mode is broken and does not give you accurate colors, but problem with standard mode it does not give you access to RGB controls which is really important. There is way around this by accessing those controls via factory settings which is awesome. I have dispcalGUI and Argyll Color Management System which is free and i1 display pro from xrite. After calibrating to Rec 709 color space i was thinking is my monitor really calibrated or close to it. Answer is YES i used free trail of Calman Studio color checker Analysis to see if my monitor is calibrated properly to REC709 and to my surprise my colors measurement points in Delta E2000 chart are well below acceptable requirements in CIE1976 chart color looking triangle my premieres green, blue and red all fall in to that square which is a target for REC 709 if it is outside of triangle then its a problem also dots in side a square are color checker points and as you can see they all fall within the square or acceptable range The Green buttons in image My avg delta E is 1 where pro monitor is hitting 0.8 and my Max delta e is 1.9 where pro monitor is 1.7 I have provided 2 images one is my Dell calibrated and other one is LG flatron if you compare images you can see deltae2000 are way off and CIE1976 chart color is all over the place i have calibrated both monitor 4 times and result is the same dell monitor can be bought now for 300 dollars where i paid 600. Stay withing 24 inch because anything bigger color tend to shift since there is more real estate space Most of the pro monitors like FSI are 24 inch and below except Dolby PRM-4220 40 inch but at 40k you also get dolby technician to cone after 3000 hours to calibrate it which is not cheap Again i am not a pro but to me my colors specially in resolve color looks so good, blacks are black and not gray Thanks guys

Premiere is being use in big films gone girl was edited in adobe but as Walter murch said give me moviola (see image )and i will give you art
-
I head one of the Isco Ultra-stars red one it was to sharp for my taste no matter what i do in post from color correcting to adding grain and effects i would made the footage to amaturish with all the effects to get film fell but then if i don't then it looks like video. It is sharp like hell. That is why i bought Bausch & Lomb Anamorphic love the lens but focus distance for me was big deal now i have kowa for bell and howell and this lens is amazing the look the fell the size and will take my primes from 35mm to 135mm no problems and i can focus down to 3ft which is super awesome for me

trash well not relly just to big to use and handle in my opinion
